Hard to judge the performance against lower tier opposition but i’ll have a go with a few comments. Thought we were rusty early on and it took a while for us to find the gaps. One or two looked like they were still on holiday mode, Christie, Forrest and Cal to name a few. It was a tough shift for Burke up front in an unfamiliar role, he is clearly a powerful unit but needs more time to get going and adjust. His movement was just ok. I get the feeling he is up here so that we can take a look with a view to signing him for another year.
I couldn’t wait to see Weah, i think BR got it right by letting things settle before bringing him on. That run off the left and in behind is a beautiful sight when executed by anyone and dare i say it his pal Neymar is an expert at it. What really impressed me was his desire to move into space and find time on the ball, he is no shrinking violet that is for sure and appears to mean business. Ralston was solid and did very well going forward, his crossing is improving and offering us a threat on the right side if refreshing. I worry about us at left back, we were easily exposed for their only real chance. Credit to Bain for some great saves and excellent work on the ball.
I thought Airdrie did reasonably well considering the task at hand.

Interesting game — some new talent coming to the fore.
Same old, same old — nonsense from the usual suspects.
MIB — O/S against ScS was pure MIB Ludge skullduggery.
The message must have gone out that no CFC player can score a hat-trick.
Their G/K was complaining only because it was ScS that scored.
The L/M put up his flag in sympathy.
Pure unadulterated cheating.
Interesting to see how the papers / Media Ludge respond.
The GB need to get real with their songbook.
Their militaristic nonsense / physical force fetishism is just schoolboy bravado.
Nothing about football, nothing about the club, nothing about the future.
It is just the unthinking wallowing in other people’s misery.
Involvement in any struggle — they would make the tea and go the messages.
MF — not working as it should.
Very pedestrian, very tippy tappy, very side to side.
We played the first 20 minutes with 9 players.
JF — needs more coaching.
He receives too many passes facing his own goal.
ScS — needs time out to re-focus his efforts.
The penalty was absolutely shocking.
Good result.
Some great play.
Finally a pantomime must be missing it’s poisoned dwarf.
The Airdrie GK was something to behold — the third he let in was just so poetic.

Steven Gerrard’s squad hadn’t left their Edinburgh hotel but Findlay claimed Gers kitman Bell sparked calls for the fourth-round tie to fall.
Bell was unhappy with the state of the surface when he delivered the Rangers strips and local ref Steve Miller was called in by the SFA to inspect the pitch.
With one corner of the pitch still frozen after overnight temperatures plummeted below zero, Miller immediately postponed the game.
Findlay — a former Gers vice-chairman — said: “The driving force behind the decision appears to be the Rangers kitman which, to me, seems a bit odd.
!!Bada Bing!! on
The Cowden chief added: “It’s a shambles. There are huge financial implications. Rangers were coming here to play and we were ready.
“From our point of view, it also suited us because Rangers have a load of new players — but they’ll be bedded in by the time the game is played.

Weah. And yet there are so many who criticise us bringing in loan players. This guy is going to be mega and a loan deal, for however long, is the only way we can afford that quality.
Burke. Although not hitting the heights in that game does look like it won’t be long until he shakes off his personal rustiness and gets on the same wavelength as his teammates.
Common attribute for both players. Pace. And plenty of it. Only good things will come of that.

Deelighted with Timothy Weah scoring, it made it a mighty fine evening. He absolutely loved scoring that goal. I hope Peter is trying to get him for next Season as well on loan because he looks to be a Superstar – lightning quick – that was noticable as soon as he first got the ball at his feet.

Surprised at the state of the pitch.
Most of it looked OK although it seemed to cut up.
However some areas looked very worn as if they had been used for training exercises.
Someone needs to put some money in the meter and get out the light units.
‘TIMOTHY WEAH? reminds me of his Da,” was one of the comments on our supporters bus on the way back from Paradise this evening. The young American star was a hot topic of conversation after he came on to replace Scotty Sinclair to grab the third goal of the afternoon in the Scottish Cup 4th round win over Airdrie.
And the teenager himself was also buzzing after getting his first goal for Celtic – and how he celebrated!
“That’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and have ever played in,” Timothy said to the Celtic media team.
“The Celtic fans, when I scored, it was like something out of a dream. Even when Scott scored, you could feel the fans, how they really are, and I’m really honoured and blessed to be here.
“It’s always a good feeling to get that first goal on the books, and now I can go on to the next game with a bit more confidence.
“It’s now time for me to get back to training, continue to work on my finishing, and continue to work on gelling with the boys, even better than we have now, and just listening to all the info the gaffer’s given me, and paying attention to all the guys in training.
“I’m really happy, and it’s now it’s just a step-by-step for me. The first goal is out of the way, and now it’s about continuing to get more and to try and work harder.”
And Weah with one in the bag, is already hungry for more.
“It’s an amazing welcome, and as you can see with my celebration, I already love the club, and I feel honoured and blessed to even have this opportunity.
“Going from a team that I didn’t play as much, to come here and to be accepted by the fans, the players and the coaching staff is an amazing feeling and that makes me want to give everything out on the field, and leave my blood, sweat and tears on the pitch for the crest.
“There’s always pressure to get that first goal, and you want to start off really good.
“Getting it on my debut, I’ve never done that before and that’s a blessing. I now need to focus on the next game and try to get another one, or an assist for my team, and work hard for the win.”

David17 was right about the clunky start, but we came good thanks to SS and Timo.
Special praise, from me, to Izzy; always involved, good appetite, generally tidy, tireless and proactive. AR too.
Sure, a cross came in ‘from the left’ for their attempt but assists for goals we could lose isn’t a signal to immediately strengthen what some immediately identify as a ‘weak area’.

Well chief, ye can see what the boss is trying to achieve – talking about playing football the Glasgow Celtic way.
It’s just the away games are of concern – teams won’t let us zip the ball about like that, and fair play to them.
Think McKenna and Cosgrove from the sheep would be 2 good signings.
Agree with what BSR said earlier – right back isn’t a priority, Mikel and Tony Ralston are competent enough.
Wee Emilio didn’t put a foot wrong either.
Our captain was also exemplary.
Tom Rogic shall return to the fold also.
This winter hasn’t been harsh thus far – and the sun will shine once again.
I honestly think and believe that we are going to retain our league title, at a canter.
