Long time ago I posted as neveralone….after one misunderstanding we seemed to be on the same wavelength.

With James Forrest we are again!

Was praising this great player on this site when he was a lad, before and after his serious injury.

James is the realist of real deals!

  2. I know it’s all about opinions, but the people criticising Pukki really know nothing bout football…

Heard a few Orcs laid their Giro’s on the bhoys not getting a point in the CL .

Also heard one on SSB tonight boasting that he had tried to lay the bet on in 2 bookies and they would not take his bet .

I sincerely hope he didn’t give up and found a bookie happy to relieve him of his wifes housekeeping money

Doc – VVD was scouted to be next Victor type player and resultant £10M plus sell on. I can live with that, if we keep scouting diamonds and progress! Now forwards….that’s a whole other story!!

Hope your Ghirl loved it tonight!

  5. funny how we all see the game so differently – celtic set high standards of ball retention recently and staunch defending. Tonight we continually gave the ball away cheaply and Ajax had more clear cut chances than barca & milan games combines. sorry , this is not champions league standard …..at home!

We rode our luck (and probably deserved some luck after barca and milan) – when you see the replay you will see kayal hiding and not willing to lead. Forrest great runs wasted by poor ball (mcgeady?) – pukki not getting into striker positions (not one front post run apart from the one he missed) and izzy poor defending .

I don’t like to see a team like Ajax outplaying us at home.

I’d have played balde up front to hold the ball up and bring others into play and take the pressure off the midfield – we missed that tonight with commons out.

Why can’t our scouts ,find strikers like our defenders.?

They can. They just can’t get them signed up.

they probably can but we can’t/won’t pay the money to get them, the manager said as much this week, top class strikers cost the type of money we can’t afford so we buy what we can and hope we can improve them (e.g. Hooper)

  9. Jude, back in feeling great, just stood at the end of the bar. 25 minutes their and it was good, one pint of beer about 30 tims n away back. I will be down here often, I know where to go for games. Next time a drive er colleague maybe as well.

  13. What was really impressive tonight was that we took the field with a bit of a makeshift team – minus some of last year’s star players and a few missing through injury and suspension – and we are still finding our feet in some positions. In the past, we would not have survived that against a team like Ajax. But this squad is well drilled to fill in for each other and this can only be due to the coaching and the team spirit to stick to the cause. I heard peter Grant (he who cost us so many goals through tactical indiscipline in the past) comment that the extra factor that we have now is Concentration. We are not prone to the lapses that proved so costly , even to more star filled teams of the past.

As many have said tonight, it was great to see Beram and Emilio getting back to their best and they filled in for missing comrades.

Tomorrow – every Celtic fan must swear an oath not to tell the world how good Charlie is, lest someone takes him away. He is so versatile and that only comes from a player with many attributes. I believe that he is a guy who needed his confidence built up and it must be sky high now as his performances are at an all time high, week in, week out.

Anthony Stokes is clearly working for a new contract. His off-the-ball chasing tonight was worthy of the work rate that Henrik put in.

Virgil – on his way to be the new George Connelly.

We can still improve in some positions but I still think that Pukki can fit in if he gets a consistent partner to work with.

Only negative is another late goal lost. It could be important in a head to head for third place if the group goes that way. We cannot keep fading in the last 10 minutes at this level.

Tonight was not the classic football of Celtic/Ajax 1982 but, tonight, we won.

    “Hahahahaha……was it something I said…?

There are those who just love Celtic, knowing that Celtic are not, and never could be, perfect. …….and there are those who just like to moan, but they are not idiots, they just like a wee moan……live with it…..could be worse, you could be a zombie…hahahaha”

Well, aye. It really is. Not something you said, so much as some dead zombie point you keep trying to make.

67 Heaven, I’m telling you that you are acting like a zombie. But worse, are actively encouraging other Celtic Supporters to do the same thing.

Why? If you are happy with the current Celtic Board, then fair enough. But you’re inane contributions in defence of the Celtic Board has actually increased disdain at them in my opinion.

  16. Im glad one of lenny ‘favourites’ made himself a hero again tonight. Anyone ever wonder exactly why he has ‘favourites’?

Maybe its because he sees these guys day in day out..

Saw the highlights on STV. Still laughing at De Boer giving us the Jack Nicholson stare. I was waiting on him giving his speech to Tom Cruise.

I’m amazed that anyone can find anything critical to say after such a great victory. It’s true Ajax played very well and missed chances but Celtic didn’t miss their chances. I think that Neil will set up his team to make life very difficult for Ajax next week and that we will score on the break and against the run of play.
