So, with his poor decision making and poor passing, why do you like him?
I think he is good on the deck usually, physicality, likes a tackle, had more games at RB than hia natural CB , Ithink he will do very well for us mate

looked better going forward. Is EO maybe even better than MD?
on the plus side, moved the ball better in the middle and top third of the pitch today ..
but the back third was scary . Not sure if it was because Jozo was sent off, which maybe threw things off a bit…. but, we struggled at the back to get the ball out, and looked nervy whenever they pressed.

MD should have been off at HT IMO, 6 up, bigger game next week, said so at the game; with Eddie and Broony too.

Any referee of a reasonable standard was on duty in Russia for the last month and are now on holiday.
What is left are the new graduates with little experience, getting their grounding in the Euro qualifiers.
Tonight and last night in Macedonia were examples of that.
The danger of refs operating above their level of competency, is the risk of red cards and injuries as a result of a lack of refereeing control.
Neither Ajer nor Hendry are natural defenders for me .
They have Mikey Galloway syndrome. They look composed and great on the ball .
The have Midfielders passing ability ,but make poor passing decisions, get caught in possession at vital times, follow the ball getting pulled out of position ,but most importantly they don’t sense danger and snuff it our like a natural defender.
Neither are commanding in the air ,nor do they score many headers from set pieces.
We have been negligent not buying a commanding centre half.

Cannot take to Jack Hendry or Jozo at all. Think they are both duds. Hurry back Dedryck. Don’t trust Jozo or Jack. Great show fae the 10 man team. Similar to 10 men at doomdome last year.
We will prob struggle to have one fit striker for the games against Rosenborg, if Eddie gets injured we are in bother, tis just the way it is but, and always the but, was there really a need to play the only two strikers we have tonight ? it was a perfect night for blooding a few weans, I hope it disny come back and haunt us, not a moan just an observation :-)

I expect Celtic to give them their normal ticket allocation.
On that front.
If we genuinely have a waiting list for season tickets.
Then we have the perfect opportunity to award these tickets to waiting Celtic supporters.

With Jozo out for the first leg of the next round I’m worried about our centre back situation.
We have known for a year now that a quality centre back was required and yet we have done nothing about it and now find ourselves going into the game of this magnitude with two young and inexperienced centre halves in Ajer and Hendry.
Compper must be nowhere near the standard required if he is unable to displace any of the three starting centre backs tonight. I don’t see any future for him at Celtic.
We have until midnight on Thursday to register our squad for the Rosenborg tie, and until the 2nd August for the 3rd round. We can add another 2 players to our squad after those dates as long as they’re registered by midnight on the day before the 1st leg.

Starting on a positive note i think we look superb, the forward players are all on song and look very powerful and dynamic. We look super fit and there is a crispness to our play, we look likely to score from every attack.
I thought it was a clear red card on first sight, a very poor and rash decision. Only positive is it came tonight and not in a bigger match in the future. Unfortunately Jozo is a liability. With his resulting suspension we look very short at the back. It’s a bit dicey but we can only have faith in the Manager.
The new lights did my head in, i look at the big screen clocks regularly and they were blinding from the north stand lower. The low level lights are too bright and that will need to be sorted out. Not ideal when you splash top dollar. I sincerely hope there was a lighting designer involved.

I like Hendry , huge player IMO at CB next few years, but his decision making re passing the ball, has to be quicker and struck better
Who do we play in defence next week? Boyata, Lustig and Gamboa still on holiday.
How did that guy become a FIFAreferee?Terrible.
Once again the curse of the CHs strikes for our CL chances.Stupid red card.Does he only miss the one game?

Can’t wait to see the new lighting.
Hopefully, that will be Simunovic’s last game for us…
When you want your defenders to be cool calm and collected… this fecker turns (studs up) and not for the first time…

TinyTim,
Get were yer coming from, expect John Terry shortly.
We’ve been lucky for years, as teams seem to waltz past us but, (apart from CL) we get away with it due to crap forwards.
Can it be fixed?
No, the SIEVE shall prevail but, it will be exciting/behind the couch etc.

First leg against Rosenborg at CP next Wednesday.
Just back from the game when I had 4 hours sleep at home after an overnight Atlantic flight without sleep.
I felt a bit zombified during the game but it looked a very comfortaable win with 10 men in a CL July qualifier where we have often struggled.
Rosenborg is another ste up but eminently doable.
The final 2 qualifiers will be much more challenging if we beat the Norwegians.
