  1. Not sure if we would have fully deserved a 3-0 win but we nearly got it at the end, and all from a long ball from Joe Hart. Did I say a long ball, and I’m talking Graham Taylor here, I mean the right ball. Fact is if we score over there they need 3-4 goals. Tremendous result, given the quality of the opposition. De Wit is a terrific old school type player. I’ve said it before, if we make it to the EL group stage at this point it will be a fantastic achievement. In Ange we trust.

    While I was very nervous second half …Great result….still think the tie finely balanced…..Welsh just MOM for me…..ralston VG and hard as nails which we needed….Taylor struggled …starfelt still can’t see it …..Joe Hart will do me……and I hope Eddie stays feck the money.!

    Terrific performance and result against a right good team. All of our new players showing up again. Tie still in the balance as they are dangerous, but so are we. Shows what happens when you appoint a genuine coach and scout first team ready players rather than the shite Lawwell served up to us for years.

    My one concern is that we blow a gasket and/ or pick up injuries playing at that frenetic pace given our heavy schedule. We need more bodies in. Hence its’ S so encouraging to see our academy lads showing up so we’ll again. Montgomery really being given a vote of confidence. Ralston and Welsh both brilliant tonight.

    Great stuff.

  4. All defenders old and new will improve and have improved with each game.It takes time to build understandings. Starfeld will come good, Everyone seems to be buying into the system – hell we HAVE a system. Away to kip with a smile on my face – Feel like my team are back. Sleep well Bhoys and Ghirls.

  5. Not fully over my jitters regarding set pieces defending but I’m not hiding behind the sofa every time we concede a free kick, corner or shy anywhere in our own half. 100% we have tightened up in that respect. That alone is massive for us.

  6. Had a doggie domestic to sort there so no quite gone yet, but I will leave you with the thot, I would wager anything that the huns are shitting themselves just now.

    Good shout re Hart for Team Captain.

    Got to disagree,

    I think CalMac, would suffer as a consequence, IMHO,

  8. Can’t decide between Welsh and Ralston for Motm. Both were superb. Kyogo, Rogic, Hart were next.

    For once, CalMac was not a 9 or 10 out of 10. Didn’t influence the game as he usually does. But that is against the high standard he has set. Maybe a 7 is unkind, so 7.5.

  9. Think McCarthy suffers from the same thing that most EPL players do when coming to play in Scotland, they just can’t believe the pace of the game and it does take some time to adjust, but, as we’ve seen in the past, some don’t! por cierto

  10. hi Chairbhoy…..

    Great night for Celtic….and you would need to be masochistic to vote for SNPcult with today’s figures.

    Celtic keeps the dream alive – the UK keeps us from a economic ARMAGEDON!! Hail Hail!

    Judith looking radiant tonight !

    Could maybe have a word with the wardrobe department though !

  13. AZ hustled and swarmed the area where Callum likes to operate, they knew how important a player he is to our system. But, how well did other players round about him nullify it by making themselves available or helping the captain out, por cierto

    Fantastic result against a good team. AK were strong, athletic and technically very good. Have to say there were some heart in the mouth moments, but all’s well that ends well.

    It looks like those who’ve been foaming at the mouth for a new right back are about to get their wish. Just a pity y’all’s been looking at the wrong side of the pitch.

    What happened to Abada, was he injured?

    Sumtimes good, sumtimes shite.

  16. I’ll admit that I wasn’t keen on Ange when announced – I didn’t think his record was good enough to be honest – and I wanted Clemente (who I remain a fan of, maybe next time?). I’m pleased to be proven wrong – he’s got the team playing like a team and some of the attacking waves are brilliant! On top of that, while saying that he needs new players and letting the fans and Board know that, he’s coaching performances from some players that I didn’t think they had in them – Rogic (I thought was finished), Ralston (I thought would never make it), Welsh (ditto) – all three have been good this season and turned in fantastic performances tonight.

    Signing wise, I’m happy with who he’s brought in. Hart shows the difference a good goalkeeper can make – he lost his way for a while but you can see why he was popular in the Spurs dressing room: a leader, good relationship with the players, exudes confidence/arrogance on the pitch! And he’s made saves this year that none of our other goalkeepers would have done!

    Abada and Kyogo have made a real difference to our attacking play – movement, pace, comfort on the ball and directness! Loving watching the pair of them!

    Starfelt and McCarthy taking longer to bed in, but I’m confident they will be fine.

    Rebuild-wise, a right back, a left back and another centre back (probably Scales though I wonder if Welsh’ form means he’s likely to play left back) and replacements for Eddie and Christie if they go and I think we’ve rebuilt. I’d like to keep Christie if possible. Offload Barkas, Bolingoli, Bitton, Griffiths and Ajeti to give us a good squad of c20 players:

    Hart, Bain,

    Ralston, new RB;

    Taylor, new LB;

    Welsh; Starfelt; Julien; new CB;

    CalMac; Rogic; Turnbull; McCarthy; Soro;

    Abada; Forrest; Christie (or a new LW option);

    Kyogo; Eddie (or new striker).

    That leaves room to deal with a common complaint of ours (or maybe just mine?) – that we have no pathway for projects and Academy players. With those 20, we leave room at each position for someone to break into – with Barkas gone we’ve only two goalkeepers, with Julien out we have space in defence and we have a space in midfield and up front. That leaves ample room for Hazard, O’Connor, Montgomery, Murray, Hjelde (if he stays), Lawal, the two Sheffield Wednesday lads, Connell, Robertson, Henderson, Dembele, Johnson, the lad from Scunthorpe and all the other B-Team guys to push for the first team. No excuses – there are spots up for grabs!

    The league (and Champions League entry next year) is there for us! Well doneAnge on such a quick turnaround and let’s hope the Board back him for those extra players!

  17. Great to have our Celtic back. What a night.

    Ralston has taken most of us by surprise.

    Welsh hads’t surprised me at all. He’s a bloody good player. Has done well since thrown in at deep end in a terrible season.

    Ange? He’s made failing players reborn again. Can’t speak highly enough of him.

    Did anyone think we would be capable of these performances were now witnessing, a few weeks ago? Our Ozzy/Japanese friends probably did.

    And we’re only going to get better.

  18. Celtic quick recovery.

    Beating technically stronger sides al la the MON years, in Fortress Parkhead.

    We have a manager, shame on the Howe’s Eddie brigade? who have groaned at every decision since. Ange picked a peach in Kyogo, from the J – league but existing players Welsh, Ralston, Rogic, are just like new signings. Starfelt looked calmer on his better foot. With nobody underperforming the new manager bounce gets higher, as Celtic close in at home, where we left off in March 2020 versus St Mirren.

    Some games may yet come too soon, but the future’s bright with Celtic and our supporters.

    M.O.M Tony Ralston

  19. Think people forget Anthony Ralston is only 22 years of age.

    He is as brave as a Lion and looks completely rejuvenated & confident under Ange,

    This year his contract was only extended for 1 year to May 1922 , this extension was greeted with derision here.

    I reckon Celtic should move quickly to give him a 3 year contract, he was brilliant tonight.

    Overall a great night, yes we rode our luck a bit at the back but tonight was the big ask, we could do it against Dundee but could we do it against a quality side.

    Tonight Scotland got their answer.
