Woke this morning, happy to be Celtic Supporter. We were up against the best in Europe and the team did its best. Yes, there were problems but most of the things that went wrong came from members of the team who played similarly against Scottish teams.
But I think we can see things improving and if we get the players for the positions that we all know are dodgy at present then next season will find us better prepared for Europe.
Someone took a poster to task for talking about tax evasion on the part of certain Barca players. What is more relevant in terms of the Spanish Champions being able to purchase players at incredible prices is surely the fact that Barca, and indeed Real, owe millions in tax to the Spanish government. That puts things into perspective. We are where we are and I cannot see things ever improving for Celtic or other clubs in Europe when UEFA turn a blind eye to what is going on in Spain.

Thanks for that.
I can see what the manager was trying to do with McGregor, playing him one in from the touchline and trying to play him almost as a “guard” when defending and pushing a bit wider when attacking. He doesn’t have the football brain or speed of thought for that. It did, I think, mean that we were weaker in the middle and Tom Rogic suffered from that.
I said the other day that I thought that a 3 in the middle like that was a good option, but I’d have used Bitton rather than McGregor and played Forrest wide rather than Rogic. Hindsight – it’s easy. So is playing the game for really good players. The not so good players find it hard, and that showed with Callum McGregor last night.
