Does anyone really think that the return of Julien will turn this around? We are WAY off competing in the EL.
We have not replaced SB (indeed we didn’t replace him a couple of years before he left when really should have done so).
Kyogo is not a number 9 in my view. He is a very clever player who would thrive off another striker.
Abada is too young and too lightweight to yet make a judgment.
We simply do not have a midfield. It’s pathetic. Rogic is long finished. Turnbull has been awful this season. McGregor is on his own.
Ange has not shown an ability to turn games around so far. Do we have any confidence he can here? Even if he could, BL simply look too good, too fast, too clinical.
Why won’t Shaw get a chance? Scales for Starfelt. Stick the Greek on. Nothing to lose.

I can only repeat what others are saying. We can’t play in Europe, and probably not in the SPFL, with Rogic and Turnball both in midfield, And Abada struggles at this level. Ange must surely see that soon?

Midfield needs serious strengthening , Rogic and Turnbull not up to it at this level . Nervous vibes from Starfelt seem to spread through the defence . We are still a long , long way from being a good Celtic team .
it looks like we are trying to play a 2-5-3 and we are getting ripped apart when they attack.
They are first class, better than us.
Ange wants us to play attacking, attractive football. Brendan was the same.
We risk getting a doing in a game like this.

we know they have electric pace and we don’t plan for it tactically. Ange has always said its about us imposing our game on the opposition. Well sure it is, but we need to understand their strengths and our weaknesses.
I’m still on board but we need a big January window to see if we can get 2-3 players to stiffen us up.
I’m sure it won’t put Bankier off enjoying his half time prawn sandwiches and Bollinger though .

A good start but punished after missing a few sitters, in fairness this is a top team who were always going to score a few tonight.
My focus is the league (same as last season) so I’d have preferred to leave Calum and Kyogo for Sundays game, it’s way more important imo.

First 23 minutes I was quite encouraged by our general play.
We probably should have scored.
This is a very good team we are playing. However, giving their left winger the freedom of paradise is not a good idea and neither is leaving the entire defensive midfield duties to Cal Mac.
Pluses, kyogo looks fit. Jota is at this level. Hart is quality.

FB is spot on – we don’t have the players to play managers system especially against good opponents. Sorry but I think it the managers fault to try and play this way without the tools to do so – if he can’t see that then he is not managing.
Manager can’t help injuries but he can help shape and tactics and frankly he has no tactics only a shape which is played regardless of who we play, home or away or who is available- that’s not managing it’s irresponsible and arrogant.
Anyone remotely surprised we are being outclassed by one of the best teams in Germany?
This is a CL quality team .
Get through this without too much damage and then concentrate on Sunday. Bonus we have Kyogo and Calmac back earlier than anticipated
btw – Kyogo should have gone down when the keeper lunged – he had to check his stride and lost vital yard for the tap in. Go down for pen and poss red for keeper.

Shaw was bought as a prospect.
We have Ralston and Montgomery as our full backs FFS and Ange gets the flack, we have known for years where the problems lie and Ange is dealing with them tonight.
All I have said is give him the tools, but no, as ever we do things on the cheap and hope, it’s pathetic.

After a dodgy opening minute we made a very positive start to the game. Kyogo’s chance, followed by Hradecky’s great save from Starfelt and then Kyogo’s second great chance. Jota destroying Frimpers a couple of times as well. I was hopeful and then Turnbull had that brain fart and our confidence seemed to dissipate. Panic seems to have set in and I was really happy to see the whistle. Players ARE hiding. There was no movement to find space during the embarrassing interlude when Hart had to hold the ball for an eternity.
We need to bring Jota and Kyogo into the game more and everybody needs to take responsibility. Our defence need to mix things up a bit. Sometimes we have to go long. I’m afraid if Ange doesn’t develop a pragmatic side to his tactics he might not be here too long. Football is a results driven business and ours aren’t good enough. Having said all that Bayer are a right good team – but we are not doing the business against lesser teams either.
We are powder puff in midfield. Turnbull, Rogic and even McGregor just not at the races. This goes for SPL games as well where tough uncompromising players a la Scott Brown are needed.
Do posters think Ange has a clue? Can you not see with your eyes? Or use your own intelligence? He repeats errors repeatedly. Has no tactics repeatedly. Plays the same awfully bad players who produce the same statically awful performances repeatedly. Turnbull has been simply atrocious game after game. Rogic. 3 goals down our right back in 2 1/2 games, livi, D utd, bl. Repeated errors. Ange is a dud.

Agree entirely. This team is the best on current form in the Bundesliga.
We have to concentrate for 100% . Two errors from not being aware get duly punished.
We must learn from our mistakes and I’m sure Ange will have picked up on it.

As soon as BL realised our defence cannot handle being pressed the game was over.
We have mistakes waiting to be made all across the defence and midfield.
Six goals lost in a game and a half already. We already have the worst defensive record out of 32 teams in the Europa and are already well on the way to beating last year’s worst in Europe record.
Sick of this talk of transition. Are NONE of the other 32 teams in transition? Maybe they just do succession planning a hell of a lot better than we do. Dead last. 32nd out of 32. Again.
Postecoglou’s last complete season in the J League, his team lost an unbelievable 59 league goals.
Maybe he has no idea how to set up a team to defend. And he certainly gets no help from the Chuckles Brothers.
