   glendaly … what I notice with JF is that he seems to stand still, get the ball, and then runs at the defenders …. he needs to make the runs into space before he gets the ball… and both he and SS on the other side need to tuck in a bit more and pick up their wingers when BMG break …

    

    

   it means that JF and SS need to put in a power of running (maybe the most of any players), but if we are going to stick with this 4231 formation, then they will have to do it …

    Probably because he has had a couple of seasons of the ball being passed behind him…

    watched the german team yesterday against spurs … they were very good … looked much better on the ball against what I think is a pretty good english team in spurs …. and the german teams are always technically solid …. so I’m not surprised that BMG are a good team … we need to play a bit smarter, but, if we do, we can still get a result here.

    yorkbhoy … that’s not entirely untrue …. but chicken or egg?

     

     

    but, even today, there is a noticeable difference in the level of skill with the ball … the germans look much more comfortable on the ball …. things they do at pace, most scottish teams struggle to do while standing still … fom what I have seen, that is changing under BR, but it is going to take some time ….

    I may have to revise my pre match prediction of 3:1 to the hoops on 1st half showing. Hopefully BMGB will have tired themselves out and offer nothing in the 2nd half
