Balde looked like a trier, I’ll give him that? Tony Watt looked like he’d struggle to get a game with Airdrie.
They gave the MON to Darnell Fisher and I wouldn’t begrudge him it but I thought Tony Stokes deserved it more.

Paul67 will call me a drama queen, but Celtic’s approach to preseason friendlies is shambolic in my opinion.
Why arrange this match in the first place if it is not to give our first team another game to get up to speed? Why put out a team of squad players and youngsters who have never played together before against a good Bundesliga team? Why are youngsters who have never played a single game in the SPL expected to play at this level?
I don’t think there is another team in Europe that has our approach to preseason friendlies. Today’s was a completely pointless exercise, except that it was a nice little confidence-builder for a Bundesliga team. Our supporters are being taken for a ride.
Hi Ghuys, Salve salve;- We have some very promising youngsters, with the right encouragement and coaching they could really crack on. Moenchen again were a typical German side well organised, fit, technically sound and tactically aware. We only play half a game in that when we do not have the ball we are not interested in getting it back, also when we do have it, it goes something like slow, slow then when it gets to Stokesy, slow slow slow. I think our coaches are very poor, if I was peter Lawell, then big Johan and Park would be for the off and replaced by sound continental coaches, preferably German. While I’m at it, why does our manager persist with the rookie mistake of playing Tony Watt and Dylan Mcgeoch in the wrong position thus weakening four positions. I hope he desists form this forthwith.

I agree we do need to bring in another poacher type striker who will score 20 plus goals a season.I do have faith that it will happen wither it will be in time for our next European game may be doubtful. I am hopeful we have enough in the locker to take care of the Swedes but only time will tell.H.H.

Strategy seemed to have a lot to do with the difference between the teams. The Germans reminded me of the triangles A La Barcelona. Rapid short passes going up the middle. They must practice that a lot.

Totally agree about passing from the germans, it was far superior to ours. It depresses me to see that our players cannot do this. We must prioritise this type of football at our academy or we will be left behind in europe.

No one was forcing anyone to go. if anyone goes to these pre seasons with any expectations of a good game they are bonkers. total waste of time which most people who don’t look for every single opportunity to attack Celtic can see. They are purely for fitness. obviously not nice getting beat.

Fella only time will tell I think there is an assumption that Balde was brought in as a first team starter.However,Neil may not see it that way he may give the lad time to settle I know your a great fan of young Tony Watt and you feel he is worth a regular start in the first team and yet today he didnt cut the mustard it doesnt make him a bad player but does show like Balde he has a lot to learn.We have used so many players this pre-season our side is not settled as yet I would prefer to look how things are half way through the season.H.H.

Just logged on and caught it, he’s not a bad wee player but you and I have seen the cracking talent we have in the youth set up, these young bhoys need to come through as well, or have the opportunity to come through.
I’d like to see him at CP, Coorslad in Santa Ponsa will be a happy bhoy if his wee nephew makes it there.
