  1. scotlands shame on

Didn’t Lennon say balde was a rough diamond when signed an not to expect too much in 1st yr or have i made that up, terrible so many supporters ready to jump on bac of young man comin from another country an what’s worse some seem to take glee from it

  2. My fellow Scottish residents.

    Look out your window.

Any kids playing street fitb a?

    No I didn’t think so.

There are not enough kids playing grass roots fitba. This means there are not enough going to make it to the top level in Scotland.

    Our national team in murder.

We no longer have the quality in numbers to come through.

    This needs to change.

Celtic had the best crop of youths in Scotland a couple of seasons ago.

They released ,nearly the entire squad, because it was felt none would progress to the first team squad.

    Where are the Jinky’s,Dalglish’s,McGrain’s,Aitken’s,Burns’s,McCluskey’s,Nicholas’s,McStay’s?

    These kids don’t exist anymore.

Our kid’s have other interest’s and are too soft.

There are too many cars to play in the streets an too many computer games to entice them away.

There are not enough school teachers taking after school football teams.

    This needs to change.

If we started now it would take twenty years to see a result.

We need football played in very street.

Kid’s kicking a ball as soon as they can walk.

The SFA ,the clubs ,the Scottish government should get together and act.

It would help with obesity ,crime ,and boredom.

Each street should have someone organising a street game every night.

The likes of Lennoxtown can polish the player, but there are not sufficient numbers coming through.

When I was a bhoy I played fitba morning, noon, and night.

If wasn’t allowed to carry my ball ,I had a tennis ball in my pocket.

    Alway’s hoping for a game.

    Wembley,1 on 1 , 5 a side,10 a side,20 a side.

    Heeders,bary,Fitba tennis.

Jumpers for post, kerbstones for posts, lamp posts for posts, gateposts for posts, trees, for posts.garage doors for goals, gates for goal, kerbstones for goals.

Me and all my pals were fitba daft.

Daylight,pitch-dark ,hail, rains, sun ,sleet or snow it didn’t matter.

    We were fitba crazy.

Our national sport is dying in this country.

It needs to be brought back to the streets and into our communities.

Who has the vision and the desire to make it happen?

    You mentioned Mikael Lustig.

In the CL, I felt he was he who looked completely comfortable during the matches along with Sammi and Victor.

Not a criticism of the others – they all did really well, but looked a lot more out of their comfort zone.

id have friendlies free for all season ticket holders myself, I think its robbery asking fans to pay money to watch them as they are a waste of time, glorified training sessions.

Somethings got to come out of all this disturbing information emanating from the Charlotte twitter account. If not Celtic then a prominent group of senior football clubs should push for an independent inquiry into these allegations either disproving them as fake or substantiating and forcing the Scottish football authorities to act and/or officially handing over any evidence to support public prosecution(s).

  8. A Stor Mo Chroi on

Oh and by the way bazzabhoy it was you that introduced the BBC not me!!!!!!!

Remember Jack Irvine bleating for other teams to be smeared post EUFA finding the huns guilty of sectarian chanting in April only for your two rockets Nevin and McClean to make international; dicks of themselves on cup final day.

Celtic did take the BBC to task over that, but to the best of my knowledge… to date… it is still unresolved and the BBC still got away with calling Celtic Supporters Sectarian Bigots for all the world to hear.

  9. 16 roads - Neil Lennon walks on water. on

The BBC always has been and still is deeply involved in this proxy war that continues to be waged against our club and our support. One of the most vile and contemptable organisations on the face of this planet.F them and their evil agenda.Propaganda and deciet is their speciality.

The whole huns saga is starting to get like all those 70’s conspiracy thrillers – Day of the Condor, The Conversation etc.

  12. Bazzabhoy I dunno where you got the blackmailed comment. Anyway celtic are not showing any respect to the support with that shambles and lack of effort today. I took my daughters who were bored rigid – I don’t think we had a single shot at goal in the first half. The only thing that entertained them was the GB and we know what celtic want to do to them!

Pfayr exactly. I think society these days wants everything yesterday an patience understanding a rare commodity. Hope the guy doesn’t become next scapegoat of support, if does Will never get chance to make it

  15. Darnell Fisher got a deserved MOTM today, looked a very good right back against reasonably high quality opposition. Unfortunately for him we have 3 current international right backs on our books. He should be sent out on loan for the season to let him develop by getting game time. The same goes for many of our youngsters, Watt, McGeouch, Irvine, McGregor, Herron, Atajic, Twardziks, all of them are in the 19-21 age range and should already be approaching 100 first team appearances, they will never get that amount of game time at Celtic so send them out on loan and bring back those who thrive.

  16. Just in to ask…..

Am I right in thinking that Celtic have played 7 games this season / preseason. On five of those occasions they have been gubbed. On the other two occassions they won with ease, without conceding a goal.

Now remind me again, how many of those 7 were competitive games.

Thats right two. And the two with the right scoreline.

    Coincidence or luck?

    I don’t think so.

NegAnon2 – apologies, I may be getting you (and I think I am now) confused with someone else. No offence intended. Games like that are a waste of time. If they are free, then I think its fair enough as its people choice to go or not, to charge for them is robbery.

And that’s not just Celtic. All football clubs.

  22. There’s a few on here still following up on that Nevin and McLean slur if I remember correctly, this information is dynamite if they can get it to the attention of the geezer who is presiding on whether to take the matter further, or have I messed the death of that one ?

  24. Professor Green on

The preseason games seem to be more about assessing the development squad prospects rather than anything to do with the first teamers.

While it is not ideal to expect these lads to win against a Bundesliga team, it all about seeing if they can show the manager something that persuades him to call on them throughout the season.

Ideally it would be interesting to see some of the development squad get a game during the competitive season but the hysterical reaction to the loss of a few preseason friendlies has probably put paid to that happening. They should be getting more game time in the premiership season especially without a realistic challenge at the top of the league.

If you can’t deal with Celtic losing in a friendly don’t go, however it’s a chance to assess potential against some quality opposition

Do you remember the farce with Jabba and the hun tickets and the money up front and Celtic threatening lawyers and all and Jabba the slug taking the piss out of us and it all went quiet. And for the love of god don’t mention old firm tv.

  29. Jack,

Only a few weeks ago, winning captains and another (sorry can’t remember name) were the only two of the originals to take it to the next stage of appeal. There was actually a press release about it from the BBC.

Not sure how it went or if it is over yet.
