    Such has been our performaces in this champions league campaign (bar that off day in germany) that an off day results in the panty wetter’s having a very wet field day

     

     

    Very proud with our second half display and we could have won it in the second half

     

     

    Even in a bad first half , there were no shots on target

     

     

    Brugge are a really good team, but we were well worth our draw

     

     

    8 points with 3 games to go

     

     

    I think we will need to take 4 points to go thru

    Yes it is a point gained,but it has dropped us 2 places back.We are now 4 places away from going out.A win would have had us around low double figures.Around the group on 10.

     

    It matters.

    Arguably the Bundesliga is the best league in Europe. Leipzig with an astute manager were second when we comprehensivrely beat them . ( They are third now )

     

     

    We played better than tonight. Simple as that.

    Brugge either played well tonight,or we were shit.I think the latter wins.Brugge have a snowballs chance in hell of going through.

     

    Their form in Belgium,Hun like.

     

    Won 8, Drawn 4,Lost 3.No superstars.

    I think if we can look back of the last few years champions league games

     

     

    we can see the progression

     

     

    We are all disappointed today with a draw

     

     

    last year we would have lost a late goal and got beat

     

     

    2 years ago we would have got pumped by 3 or 4

    What standard do we want to play at or not .

     

    To play i the Scottish league then lift our game is going to be difficult.

    We were very lucky tonight. Bruges passing and control of the ball was top class. They were a lot better than Leipzig. We started the game very slowly as we did against Leipzig. Could have been 3 down at halftime.

     

    Our midfield was really poor tonight, Calmac included. Engels should not be starting before Bernardo on current form. The subs brought a bit of purpose about our first two subs should be starting in the next game.

     

    However it was a good point and brings a dose of reality to our dreams of a top 8 finish.

    We are having a great Season, strolling the League, in League Cup Final, 5 Champions League games played, 2 wins, 2 draws & 1 defeat,

     

     

    Tonight Brugge were good & we were below par, but we battled & got a point.

     

     

    We are better than we showed tonight, in recent years we were embarrassing in Europe but not this year, beat Young Boys & we should make the knock outs.

     

     

    The show goes on, Up the Celts.

    No, not a miracle, just enough point to make it into the top 24 of 36.

     

    Now, unless I am mistaken you had to switch off or over after the first half, that’s snowflake central in my book.

     

    No no no, Bruges got their tactics right, something close to the old man to man system, all across the middle of the park. Very effective, and something we could not combat, because we could not press them, but they could certainly press us. And we could not adjust to it. Did better in the second half, brought more of our game onto the pitch, and could even have won it at the end.

    This is the kind of crap we laugh at the Huns for coming away with.We could have won it at the end !!?.When exactly.Kasper had brilliant save,goal chalked off for a bawhair,and they miss a sitter at the post.

     

    I don’t deal in fantasy,we were atrocious 1st half,bit better in the second.This team are not top class.We made them look it.

     

    Bye the way,they aint going through.

    We do this every time.Get to the cusp of great things,then dont deliver,especially in Europe.

     

    Fekin sick watching it,and sick tonight.

     

    Celtic Mac,I remember sitting on steps in Milan as a kid sobbing my heart out in 1970 after the final.Many more horrors after that,so dont preach to me and tell me that was OK tonight.We did not turn up again when it mattered.

    Was a poor first half performance, with zero shots on target to kaspers goal (that stat says a lot – they played well but never threatened)

     

     

    Second half we dominated, and were unlucky not to turn that domination into goals.

    I watched the whole game, you gave up at some time in the first half, maybe you were hiding behind the couch for the rest of the game, I do not know. I stuck with it.

     

    What kind of supporter gives up at HT when we were down only by one goal?

     

    You went from hoping we could move up the league, before the game, to being unable to watch the game at one nil down after forty five minutes. Like I said before that’s snowflake central right there…..

    They were a very well coached team,and when you stand off them,that’s what happens, they must be wondering why they never won that game. Bernardo needs to start games now, Valle is a player, I did find Maeda and Kuhn getting subbed strange, I know they weren’t great but can give you a wee bit of magic.

    Thought we were really edgy for the first 45 . They are good and well organised.

     

    No place for nerves at the top table. McGregor and Hatate were not at their best in the first half and Taylor gave the ball away or turned back to often.

     

    Engles may well turn out to be a world class player and I certainly hope he does. However, at the moment Bernardo should be first choice, he deserves it. Also, have some faith in McCowan !

     

    Maeda ? Absolute classic goal.

     

    We are still in with a decent shout. All to play for.

    Another stirring champions league night at Celtic Park but a flat, disjointed performance.

     

     

    Pretty happy with the point.

     

     

    Callum was magnificent against Leipzig. Looked miles off it tonight as did AJ (who had a shocker) and CCV.

     

     

    Cameron is a favourite of mine. When he’s fit he is a rock that gives confidence to the rest of the team knowing the door is bolted at the back.

     

     

    That was the poorest I’ve seen him play tonight.

     

     

    He has significant credit in the bank due to previous endeavours.

     

     

    But the knee surgery was 18 months ago and he hasn’t looked fully fit anytime since.

     

     

    Hopefully tonight is a wake up call.

    Park The Bus – Play On The Break – MON & NFL did it with ease.

     

     

    So why does BR continually fail to grasp the conceptual reality that in the CL, Celtic are naive minnows that all the big sharks want to play?

     

     

    MON & NFL are aware that in Europe, Celtic are a club with a point to prove.

     

     

    These 2 Magnificent servants of Celtic from the 6 Counties seem to be from a different era of life than BR, and without these 2 undoubted battlers at a time when we were still reeling from dirty Fergus’s dirty job on Wim Jansen, making Champion Wim leave,

     

     

    We were on the ropes, the Advocatt Huns had won 5 out 6 trophies, who knows how they would have been stopped had we not recruited the battling MON & NFL etc?

     

     

    Simple football – not asking players to do what isn’t written on their tins.

     

     

    Rodgers wants pampered pooch style football were all the little bits and pieces always fall into place. And things don’t look so rosy when they don’t.

     

     

    The most crucial bit of information was last week when MON said

     

     

    “It is crucial for Celtic to have a strong Rangers.”

     

     

    [I call them Rangers coz Celtic have said zero about any new club at Ibrox ]

     

     

    If the Huns aren’t strong, how strong are we?

     

     

    We are a weak club followed by weak supporters, managed by a weak manager who was having zero legitimate questioning of Lawwell at the AGM and helped to generate a spectacle of himself and his ‘needy’ pal PL. Its always the cover up that gets them.

     

     

    A Celtic who had zero to say about the greatest sporting crime, carried out by that other crooked charlatan, David Murray, but the same Celtic who were all in on the same club lie cover up, assisted by 60,000 unquestioning fans, and some Auld guy brainwashing these 60,000 sheep down the forgiveness route!!!!

    Good frosty -4 morning from the Garngad.

     

     

    BALTIC this morning.

     

     

    Ah well a draw keeps momentum going.

     

     

    1st half too many players weren’t their usual self.

     

     

    I thought Hatate’s decision making was terrible at times.

     

     

    But as I say so many were not at it.

     

     

    I said before the game a draw would be fine by me.

     

     

    Anyway onto Saturday and Ross County we go.

    As most folk would agree ( Maybe ?), last nights POINT against a very good Brugge team could end up a precious Point GAINED, rather than Two Points lost ?

     

     

    A very poor 1st half from Celtic, but the Bhoys rallied in the 2nd half and could have stole the 3 Points near the end.

     

    So a Draw was a FAIR Result IMHO.

     

    This morning, I am more than happy that we managed to come back and get the Draw.

     

     

    After racing past their Right Back early on in the 1st half…wee DAIZEN seemed to be reluctant to take him on again until the 2nd half and his Goal.

     

     

    REO HATATE and ARNE ENGELS were in particular so poor in the 1st half, it looked like CALMAC was left to try and run the midfield all on his own….NO Wonder Brugges looked so good in that dire 1st half.

     

     

    I can only assume that Brendan had a few choice words at half time, and Celtic improved in the 2nd half especially with the introduction of PAULO BERNADO around 60 minutes. Maybe Arne Engels is lacking confidence in the last few weeks and needs a wee rest ? Perhaps the 3 games in a week is NOT something that he is used to , so I expect BERNADO and LUKE McCOWAN to be given starting slots starting on Saturday ?

     

     

    Well done to The BHOYS for their 2nd half showing.

    Interesting game last night, got to say, Brugge had done their homework, had very good players and were very well organised.

     

     

    It proved again we must be on top form to compete at this level.
