SIR Rod Stewart tonight handed Celtic a home Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Inverness Caley Thistle.
The massive Hoops fan helped to make the draw after Brendan Rodgers’ men had beaten Albion Rovers 3-0 in the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie.
Rocker Rod looked delighted as he presented his favourites with the opportunity to dump the team that have beaten Celtic three times in the competition during the reigns of John Barnes, Martin O’Neill and Ronny Deila.
Remarkably, the Highlanders are the only domestic outfit to prevent Rodgers from racking up a 100 per cent record in his debut season in Scotland.
No-one would bet on Caley Thistle stopping this particular Hoops juggernaut as they zero in on the Treble.
The full draw is:
Dunfermline v Hamilton Accies
Raith Rovers or Hearts v Hibs
St Johnstone v Partick Thistle
Ayr United or Queen’s Park v Stilrling Albion or Clyde
East Fife v St Mirren
Ross County v Aberdeen
CELTIC v Caley Thistle
Sevco Rangers v Morton
Ties are due on the weekend of February 11/12.
