  2. Apparently a Scottish football club that is under a registration ban played six new signings in a friendly match yesterday.

Are there no rules for friendlies? Are there no repercussions for fielding unregistered players?

Or is it just another example of The Rangers doing whatever The Rangers want?

    Gordon j,

Unregistered? You obviously don’t know the rules. Until sandy Bryson says that they are unregistered, they are fully registered, chartered, card holding bears that are eligible for all kinds of nonsense.

    Lns happily accepts this interpretation.

Macjay, just remember Anthony Quinn playing Greek parts not suggesting he was Greek.

Lily’s, I’m in Leros, north of Kos. Yesterday’s restaurant was in Merakia, a couple of km on from Lakki, the deep water capital port so sought after in wartime.

The Battle of Leros was the inspiration for The Guns of Navarone. The caves, tunnels and Italian engineering guarding the big gun placements around Lakki are fantastic. As is the Art Deco architecture in Lakki itself.

In my experience, the best things in life aren’t always free, but they are often comparatively inexpensive and very often spontaneous.

  9. on that podcast it features the Cappielow Riot of 1923.

    Summa,

I wish had taken some of your linguistics classes prior to arriving here, (1995).

Celtic First, thank you, efharisto, agree about the best things.

    Lily’s Granpa,

No apologises required, mornings consist of reading nightshift, coffee, maybe post, swim, sunbathe, walk, swim, then out of the midday sun, lunch, read CQN.

Afternoons similar, until the bar opens, (depending upon MrsEC), choose a taverna for evening meal. Any amounts of adventures just occur naturally.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply, thank you. I know of Leros, though never been myself. Ten years ago, by accident, I found Symi, just off Rhodes, and Ive been going there since. Made many friends over the years, just love it!

My main man on Symi, whoI keep in contact with, takes his holidays in Tilos.

  23. Celtic manager Neil Lennon considered their latest friendly run-out against CFR Cluj as another valuable exercise.

“I’m expecting them to be sharper from now” – Neil Lennon

The Hoops went down to a 2-1 defeat to the Romanians despite a late consolation from substitute Georgios Samaras.

That followed a 1-0 reversal against Ukrainian side Sevastopol in their opening pre-season friendly just three days earlier.

“It was a great work out. A little bit hot but we were up against a good side here,” Lennon told Celtic TV. “There was a little bit of rust there from a few but that’s to be expected.

“I’m expecting them to be sharper from now though, they were second to the ball too often for my liking,” he admitted.

The SPL champions are next in action against German outfit Greuther Furth on Tuesday.
