CELTIC v DONS IS STILL ON

CELTIC Premiership game with Aberdeen due for Parkhead a week tomorrow is still ON.

The Dons’ match tomorrow against St Johnstone in Perth has been postponed because of a spike in the pandemic in the north east.

The Pittodrie side were rocked after two first-team players received positive coronavirus tests with a further six told to quarantine for 14 days.

That led to question marks over their meeting with Hamilton Accies on Wednesday and the nine-in-a-row champions in Glasgow next weekend.

But the governing body say both matches will go ahead as normal, despite the fact Derek McInnes will be without eight of his stars.

An SPFL statement said: “In response to media enquiries following this afternoon’s announcement from the Joint Response Group, please note that Aberdeen’s next two fixtures, against Hamilton Academical and Celtic, are scheduled to proceed as normal.”

The Hoops face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday before raking on St Mirren in Paisley on Wednesday. They will then host the Dons on the Saturday.
