  1. Excellent 2nd half performance, after a poor 1st half.

    Welcome back to management Bomber!

    Hawhaw!!

  2. Afternoon all

Just on way back from match. Enjoyable 2nd half after drab 1st. Was ref/linesman right to chalk the early ‘goal’ off?

  3. I think that game will have given Lenny a few headaches.

    Ambrose was decidedly shaky.

Kayal did not grasp the chance to impose himself on the game.

Rogne showed why he is Joe the Toff shortly.

At HT our 1-0 lead was a little flattering.

After the sending off the game was over as a contest.

I do like the look of Rogic although he didn’t have a long run.

He was heavily involved at the 4th goal with the initial visionary pass from defence and then to link with Stokes.

  4. Fox gives away a pen after coming on as a sub and Hooiveld scores an OG….Southampton will struggle if they have to rely on those two nuggets

  5. Afternoon bhoys from a sunny but cold hun free mountain valley.

    A game of two halfs.

Delighted to see Anto coming back to a bit of form.

Joe was deadly today, and big Fraser was fortunate with their non goal that was a good goal imo.

No very often I say things like this, but the referee wisny too bad in comparison to the usual suspects, probably his first and last time reffing a Celtic game then.

  6. Message to ESPN :http://tv.espn.co.uk/gb/espl/faq/help-feedback/

I have cancelled my subscription to ESPN.Whilst I appreciate that the broadcaster has no control over the actions of so called supporters I am totally disgusted with the coverage of the games involving The Rangers Football Club. The constant sectarian and hate filled singing is not something I want to hear in my living room.Perhaps without a vehicle to allow these knuckle dragging morons to voice their explicit bile they may crawl back under the rock from where they emerged. Please discontinue any coverage of the vile section of society before more reasonably minded viewers abandon your station

  7. Jimbo 67,

The Dundee ‘goal’ was clearly offside.

I’m not a big fan of Anthony Stokes but I thought he was terrific today. And isn’t young Dylan a fine prospect? He was always involved, calm, composed and scored a lovely goal.

I think Stokes is everything we need in a striker, not least that he is playing for HIS team. Granted,he doesn’t always do it,but Hoops scored for the first time in six today, and gets a fraction of the criticism which Anthony receives.

Not trying to start an argument,btw-simply stating my opinion,as you have yours.

That’s the beauty of the blog-we can disagree about the details, but the big picture remains the same!

  11. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

We wd have felt hard done by if we had scored the Dundee “goal”. F F was fast asleep.

  12. BMCUW,

That’s fine. I agree with your point about Gary. Anthony has, in my view, improved his game since he joined us. His first touch is better, he doesn’t get caught offside as often and he’s more of a team player. Today was a good example of all three improvements. These were weaknesses which shaped my original view. I’d like to see him get a run in the team and continue to improve.

Saw that message you sent me earlier,I doubt we’ll see that one in the holiday brochures!

I’ll reply to your e-mail in the morning,bud-been busy spring-cleaning for my wee pal and her boyfriend moving in.

I left the front door open yesterday while I buggered off to the pub, hoping some burglars would break in and tidy up. Didnae work, had to do it myself…….

  14. I back Rubicon and BMCUW, to an extent.

Stokes does not usually have the range of skills to embarrass the bigger teams though I accept he ges few opportunities to disprove this.

Today he was magnificent, easily MOTM rather than Deadly Ledley.

Good to see a well taken pen. and McGeoch, Rogne and Izzy also doing well

  15. Jude 2005.

I don’t agree, it was clearly offside. Perhaps FF was slow or the player obstucted his view.

  16. Missed the second half and 4 goals by the looks of it (had to visit a relative in hospital). Another great performance it seems, great to see Stokes back on form.

At the risk of obsequiousness, that’s as good a summation as I have seen of him over his time here.

I was critical of many facets of his game when he first arrived-lack of pace and awareness were high on the list-but as you say,he is a much-improved player these days.

Perhaps the contract situation has concentrated his mind wonderfully!

For me,he has earned a new one, never mind the option being taken up,and I hope the club offer him one.

I like to see a fan in the HOOOOOOOOOPS……….

  18. Just back from the game

can anyone tell me what the GB chant in the first have was

    “oh its magic you know…????????”

  19. Great result and reasonable performance.

Many changes and a 2-4-4 formation made the first half tighter than it needed to be.

Good performance by the GB, certainly no own goals to my ears.

Stokes played well again and Rogic, in two passes, took us from midway inside our half into their box for a goal.

I need to start putting money on my predictions as I said 5-0 in the Gazebo before the game.

Only on CQN would you see the word ‘obsequiousness’. Now, could you get that into the lyrics of a song :-)

Still canny figure out what was wrong with the goal he scored against Latchford, lobbing him from fifty yards out-and on the touchline too!

Just a shame about his fitness levels-remind you of anyone?
