  1. Tonight was as good as anything I’ve seen this season. Unfortunately, VVD and Denayer will be a massive loss for us next season.

  2. the hooped crusader on

    Friday night fitbaw, oh yes.

    Atmosphere almost European-esque.

Place was bouncing and getting a five star performance from the players topped it off.

I was even singing here we go ten in a row, always feel it’s a bit triumphalist but since our targets 13 now I thought why not. ;-)

Though seriously who could not get caught up in that atmosphere, had a few well oiled celts around me tonight, no inhibitions and giving it laldy.

Working tomorrow so off to bed, bit jealous of my bhoy dropped him at the boozer with his mates, oh to be young again.

    Hail Hail.

Kev referred to other Celtic supporters as ‘bead rattlers’. He’s a Celtic fan but prefers trolling to supporting. Just my opinion mate. I hope yer well sir.

Commons is the absolute heartbeat of the Celtic attack

    Not even close

  5. Hamiltontim….

Sometimes it’s better to look beyond the surface.

I’m not picking fault for faults sake. 5-0 is great.

But go in Ronny’s shoes for a minute, and he’d be watching tonight thinking, what to I do to make us as strong as possible in the champs league qualifiers. Who is making the difference, and who needs to do better.

Watch this space…. If I can pre-empt Ronny’s thinking, Johansen will be the central attacking mid. The wide positions are up for grabs. Forrest gets my vote on the right, the left remains up for grabs.

    I’m only looking ahead.

  6. TCR,

have never had any doubt about Neganon ,indeed I have had a couple of discussions with him, Kojo and TSD can post if they like, but are never Celtic fans imo

  7. Aberdeens record this season is commendable…Think i Read its the 7th best in Their History…Also read that our Record against ICT our so called Bogey Team is Actually not Much Worse than say against Kilmarnock..

    I gotta get out more..

Been a great Pasqua Rossa .Off home to watch the game ( sound down as always ) whilst listening to some 5 Satins / some Drifters and some Ben E King .

    Ben E King RIP.

  10. The_huddle

I agree…watch the guy closely….50% of the time, the play breaks down.

Ronny’s no daft. I think Ronny bowed to pressure earlier this season re : Commons.

Trust ur first instincts Ronny. Initially u knew he wasn’t up to it.

Some fans, Hugh Keevins, and the Celtic board, bowed to the pressure and awarded him a 2 year deal

We’d have been better given his Mrs a 2 yr deal ! Suit you

Your second post is quite different to the one I replied to mate. I get where you’re coming from regarding Ronny looking to the future but I think Ronny appreciates the attributes of Commons more than some Celtic supporters.

  17. Kris has been in and out of it this season. Thought tonight he was very good. Absolutely no problem with him getting a new 2 year contract, great player to have in squad and a great person too by all accounts.

  18. When we beat Dundee Utd at Celtic Park in the cup reply, I mentioned on here that if Bitton would only shoot now and again, he’d be a world beater.

Well he shot tonight. For me, he was m.o.t.m…. He was the one guy that never put a foot wrong. Add to that, he scored a screamer.

  19. Tricoloured Ribbon on

    The Huddle,

In my opinion, his presence and goal scoring record makes him an absolute must in a Celtic team.

  20. Was there another player more involved in Celtic’s goals tonight than Commons?

  21. Hamiltontim…

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to come across as having a Commons agenda.

I think over the 4.5 seasons he has been on board , he has provided value 4th only to Lubo, Larsson, C.Gordon.

Commons has been up and down…..at his peak, he’s provided some magical moments.

Currently however, I think his inclusion is disturbing the balance of what is Ronny’s preferred formation. And for me, Johansen is much much better in the lead central role, when Commons isn’t playing.

  22. HT…

I just think Kev j’s tongue takes over on his keyboard, a dissalusioed tim, yep. I reckon he misses the huns, fair play, if that is the case, I speak to a lot of Celtic supporters that sadly do as well.

The more they get nearer to plying their trade with us…the more their shoulders get broader. Then again, they’re a bit sheepish at the moment.

The game plan is on to get thems up anyway…the battle continues.HH

Seems to have been quite a day in Milan.20 k Blak Bloc on the streets.

    Buona notte !

  24. Ruggyman

He hit the bar against ICT in the semi-final, though, had it gone in, McLean would have had his eyes open and spotted someone standing in an offside position interfering with play.

    Craig Gordon probably.

  25. Well that’s me done for tonight. Looking forward to watching rerun of game in the morning. Good Night and God Bless All. Hail Hail to the Champions.

Utd form very poor ( 1 victory in last 10) and I would love to win the league in the land of the sheep. MIght even use it to arrange a wee CQN day out :-)

3/1 for Utd to win at home if you are brave :-)

  27. What a great start to a weekend.

Lots to like about the effort and skill on show tonight. The second and fifth goals were pretty special.

Jamesgang, what a pleasure to meet your Dad.
