No doubt about it for me French Eddie song was the best. That said good to head a few golden oldies. I didn’t hear Lou Macari or Harry Hood and possibly missed Jorge Cadette but that aside it was 3 points and that all that can be said.
Onward to the next task. Hopefully the manager will get on with his day job now. We have some huge games this month and still don’t seem quite ‘on it’ in my view.
Nice comment from folks on here about those of us who attended. Personally I didn’t think it was too bad conditions. No wind factor and so only 3 layers and a hat and no thermals for me. Didn’t even need gloves for most of it. As for the roads it took me my normal time to and from darkest Fife and so no bother there either. Not sure why the crowd was quite so low given it was a 1st v 3rd clash and on the season book. Stadium almost empty at the end as well. I guess that is easy to understand as some folk wanting to be sure to be safe re the weather.

Where are those heated seats at Celtic Park when you need them?🥶😁
All under a driveway i believe!

Loved the GB response last night and the crowd response in general – those around me were clapping and whooping each pass from CB to CB / FB to CB for the first 5 minutes until the novelty wore off. Also good to see BR took it in the good humour in which I am sure it was intended.
For the match itself, I thought we were very good first half bar the final ball / finishing touch. 2nd half was a bit meh but 3pts and job done and onto the next one.
Only downer for the night for me, other than the crash near Dunblane causing havoc on the roads, was the news on Kuhn. Hopefully just a precaution – Yang whilst he can do the odd good thing is a very noticeable drop in quality. Hopefully we have some good options being linked up for this window.
The Pre match injury to Nicolas Kuhn is a worry ….Maybe ?
Towards the end of the game Diazen Maeda looked at though he MAY have a Slight Groin Strain….Maybe ?
Hopefully, any POSSIBLE Injuries to Either or both players are NOT too serious ?

Good morning CQN.
Enjoyable read back of last night’s fare and this morning’s too.
Jobo’s morning weather report (from EK was it?) always raised a smile.
I hope he returns to the blog soon. It’s certainly a better place now than the one he chose to leave back whenever.
Enjoyed last night. Cold of course but team played well enough.
McCowan not good enough for an auto pick but makes effective contributions when called upon. Looking forward to seeing him after a proper Celtic preseason.
I share previously raised concerns about Adam.
Another largely inconsequential outing.
(That sumptuous low diagonal cross from Arne in the first half … that just tickled across in front of the 6-yard box? Tailor made for the wee man)
16 clear.
4-0, 4-0, 3-0, 2-0 across four tightly squeezed home games during the tired period?
Decent enough. Job done.
Great time to be a Celt.

When will those who advocate quick forward passing at all costs finally realise that that just might not be the right tactic if said pass is directed into a proverbial traffic jam, as per the first half last night?

Celtic Mac – last night a few more shots from 20 yards out would have been worth trying. The likes of Engels and Calmac are good from that range and it would have helped make things less predictable.
On the other hand, I thought the intricate passing mostly worked well and there were several inviting crosses that pinged along the 6-yard line but no one was there to convert them. As I said earlier, the tactics in the first half would probably have suited Kyogo better. Idah didn’t really get close to the balls that were flying across in front of where a poacher should be waiting.

I don’t have a problem with holding onto possession by passing it across the midfield or defence but I get annoyed when we telegraph the pass. There have been games under NL where a pass trundled back to a central defender as the opposition forward was already closing the defender down. If the passes are quick and to feet or ahead for the players to move onto then I’m happy

McCowan is also capable of hitting the ball from twenty yards, Palma too.
Most of the passing attempts were blocked from whatever angle, Maeda, Taylor, McGregor etc
True a couple made it across the six yard box, when nobody was likely to reach them.
Dont get me wrong we controlled the ball and the game in the first half, and we showed a lot of urgency albeit up against a well prepared and organised defence, ergo not many clear chances. Thought we were more likely to score when the Arabs opened up in the second half, though they posed more of a threat coming forward.
Good result against a half decent team.

Palma’s cross pass leading to the second goal was really outstanding.
The guy does have plenty of talent. We need to know how to use it. That should adjust
his “attitude”. A good run in the starting 11 might help, given the GAP to Govan. :-)

Gerrybhoy at 11.14, not enough of us giving Palma credit for that pass. That and the double dummy by Bernardo were outstanding moments of skill and awareness.

GerryBhoy – For what it is worth, I think it would take some kind of exceptional circumstance or injury for Maeda to get dropped for more than a veryoccasional game and, without that, Palma is not going to get more than the occasional chance.
Maeda is the one player who does not appear to need rested regardless of workload. He is a phenomenal athlete. He was absolutely everywhere last night. The amount of times he takes the ball off opposition player when they don’t even know he is coming is a joy to watch. He did it 3-4 times last night when Utd had regained possession and were about to move the ball up the park. Before they knew it, Maeda had nicked the ball off them.
