  2. Good Morning Celts – Grand Day To Be A Tim

    AN TEARMANN @ 11:38 PM,

    “My team start for Tues

    Kasper

    Aj ccv trusty Taylor

    Engels calmac reo

    Kuhn idah maeda

-Schlupp on for Taylor or Reo if we are going for it

    late on

-Jota on late maeda in middle, idah off

I was reading on twitter Bayern have not face a tougher game than us ob stats.

I would consider jota maeda kuhn front 3 to start with as Daizens running caused them problems

As you say Chairbhoy trust in BR is what i think too,its not easy,i just hope we go and give it a right go as at the moment we are out.

It is important to keep shape, tactical discipline and play with Maeda’s energy,go on Celtic give it a go.

    HH”

Cheers, Hope all is good with you…

Yes, that would be the team to start, it would give us options, as the game progressed.

Keeping it tight and keeping in the game during the first half at the Allianz Arena will be a huge challenge, but if we are in with a shout, then Schlupp, Jota, Maeda through the middle gives us some serious options to change it up second half.

Very interesting Prime Vid that MAESTRO linked – thanks.

Great to see MO’N and Brendan chatting, Brendan said he already knew his starting eleven for Tuesday, which was interesting, BR seems very content with his lot and the season so far.

Our season changes markedly on Wednesday, with all eyes on the run in, hopefully, still in three competitions but regardless, we have seen what the January window delivered and I’m sure we’ll plan accordingly going forward.

Kyogo is not the big miss some expected*

Jota has started where he left off under Ange.

Schlupp has given us options where we were light, your Reo call was a good one.

If he can get a MF role, maybe free Calmac to play further forward in some games, with Engels on the right, we could have a seriously good starting midfield.

With Reo, McCowan, and Bernardo to come back we are not as lightweight there as it looks.

James Forrest in contention means we are not too light on wingers either, if Maeda is played through the middle.

Still, getting a bit ahead of myself – Tuesday could still be a season defining game, looking forward to that.

*Rennes was undoubtedly an unexpected destination for Kyogo, you feel their previous manager was expecting a job saving impact from the wee man, always a tall order – yet once he settles, he will be a good addition for them.

    Hail Hail

  3. Majestic Hartson on

    Morning Chairbhoy,

I liked your question last night – if i had the option to play turn game again with Maeda through the middle, or take the 1-2 defeat is still take the 1-2.

We’re still in the game b as it stands and there’s no guarantees playing Maeda through the middle will give us a similar scoreline.

  4. MAJESTIC HARTSON @ 5:25 AM,

    Morning,

Yes, in a stick or twist scenario, it could’ve ended up worse – the last twenty minutes did keep us in the tie and earn the respect of Bayern but they have a lot in their locker.

The tactics worked well, maybe as well as could be expected under the circumstances, so we go again one goal down.

In Munich we have no element of surprise anymore with Maeda through the middle and whatever team starts, we will need to change after 60/70 minutes.

So, if we give a good account of ourselves and stay in the tie, that will make a game of it…

    …aff oot

    Hail Hail

  5. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Good morning CQN.

Is it really just two days since we last saw the Celts?

Is it really just one day before we see them again?

    Can’t wait

    Well done the players.

  6. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Burnley78 at 8:21pm – cheers.

    Really good data and insight.

Keeping track of potential CL opponents adds another layer of interest.

We haven’t won the league yet. There is still work to do but, I reckon we have a 95% chance of being confirmed as champions in April.

If I am reading the regs correctly (no guarantees there) I reckon Bodo/Glimt are a shoe-in for the first of two potential extra places arising from winners of Champions League qualifying through league position.

They’ve already won the league and are sitting on (from memory) around 42 coefficient points?

The second extra place, for winner of Europa League qualifying through league position is less likely.

Lazio and Eintracht handily placed domestically but a fair few EL participants way off it at home.

  7. Yes. Olympiakos are a possibility for the extra slot vs Bodo ?

Ideal if AEK won in Greece which would mean another higher coeff could get the place. Not likely but not impossible.

Alternative could be Olympiakos winning Europa. Not impossible as they did excel in conference last year and Europa level is poor aside from Lazio and EF.

  8. An T

I get it re his media shock jock stuff.

Sutton did some good things for us when HL was around 00/04. Sutton was paid handsomely for it. Never a badge kisser which I respected. We won 3 leagues out of 5 in his time and 4 other trophies. We reached group stage of CL 3 times and got no further.

Sutton did nothing once HL left. In fact he was a disruptive force. He abused MON’s absence and downed tools in lead up to helicopter Sunday. Folk like Bellamy were appalled. His attitude toward WGS was a disgrace. As was Thompsons to be fair.

I realise he had his financial issues and his other problems but he was paid handsomely to do a job and frankly cost us a league title 04/5.

You are right that it is wrong to conflate the issues with his current pretend media persona and the ‘wind up the Huns’ to get clicks from excitable Celtic fans but I see it as an extension of the character who took us for a ride in 04/5 and who is still leveraging his stock with our fans to earn his living by his misrepresentation. Not for me. I saw it up close back then and see it from a more objective position now.

It’s even more sad to hear Celtic fans saying ‘he is one of us’ and ‘he gets us’. Yes he will for 50 shekels.

  9. lets all do the huddle on

proper rant by Berkovic in the Record.

I wont post a link to it obviously, its all shite that he is talking.

but at least the Record realised that so included the line “However, Berkovic’s memory appears to be hazy….”
