  1. Enjoyable game , we looked well organised against United’s high balls and also we played out well from the back when Utd pressed up second half.

Really good goals and we had control of the ball for most of the game.

Just a word for the ref , hopeless. Worst I’ve seen Walsh for a long time. In a game played in a good spirit from both sides he managed to make a series of really poor decisions….

Jim (low block) Goodwin’s Dundee Utd sat too low from the off, and the scene was almost immediately set for Brendan to use his unique squad strength, with his tweaked starting eleven, and rested stars.

Calum MacGregor sand danced through the Arab back line to score with a typically measured goal and after half an hour Jota’s finish, into the same corner had the home crowd, happy as Larry. Jota’s overall first starting 45 begged the question, how could the player possibly be so surplus in Saudi, or so lost in France?

Stick or twist visitors, even third placed Utd play in the same league but only in name these days, holding out for a draw against Celtic only realistically at Tannadice. Decades of domination behind their last Parkhead win, and a distant relative of the victims of McGarvey and Provan in Kings Park, the gap just keeps on getting bigger.

Into the second half already, Jota was bizarrely penalised for getting studded by a Utd player, and it bookmarked a normal day at the office for wee Nick Walsh in his cameo role of Scottish level of refereeing, always behind the play and invariably wrong. Fall after fall, until even he twigged, it eventually led to one, where Adam Idah rattled a class finish into the top corner, not too shabby for a Brendan ‘backfiller’ preserving his goal a game ratio, since Kyogo was sold during January’s transfermageddon. Yang’s frightening pace has to be sampled pitchside , great first, it’s still the last touch that eludes our Korean. Jota saved up for Tuesday, saw Daizen resume on the wing and it allowed Brendan to nurture his young Irish striker, and introduce the other. Every inch of Luke McCowan is a Celtic middy, McGregor is a tough act to follow outstanding again and over now 500 times he’s pulled that jersey over his head, as a stunning Celtic captain .

Good shout out for Jeff Schlupp’s tidy full debut, which augurs well for Celtic’s sixth treble bid. Brendan and ‘intensity’ will see the Crystal Palace man along with steady Eddie Tony Ralston, back on the bench come Tuesday, in Munich. CCV and Trusty were rock solid, but untested in defence, as Utd like most teams, didn’t get out to play in Parkhead.

    MOM Jota on the wing

  3. Re Walsh. United couldn’t get a foot on the ball so he decided to interrupt play as often as he could in order to remind people he was in charge of the match not Celtic.

    Very poor refereeing.

  4. Great team performance mostly today. Ralston and Schlupp were good. Vickers and trusty consistent.

Wingers effective and great goals , esp from idah.

Thought we were untidy when united pressed us high – need to figure that out. We did manage to play though it brilliantly on a couple of occasions but Walsh refused to play advantage and ruined those moments. Annoys me when refs get this so wrong. Stop play it it’s a head know. Otherwise let it flow. Simple.

    Schluup must start on Tuesday

Just looked to see who did the original of the ‘Maeda’ song ……..The Champs, very fitting.

  6. St Stivs

Was peeking on FF there and there is a post about Leeds United wanting 80% attendance from ST holders or they won’t be invited to renew.

Most sane post I have seen on there.

Me too used to play for Everton boys club …. From Shafton in Knightswood…… great days 👍 many moons ago 🤪👍

  8. Saw this on BBC, quite a stat:

Leverkusen have only been beaten once in 67 domestic games but it’s the draws that have punished them this season. They’ve now drawn eight times to Bayern’s four.

  10. As easy a win as we have had.Fantastic 3 goals, but for me personally, the rest, apart from the odd flash, was pretty dull.Hatate ,not at it,and no busting a gut to get there.Dejected looking coming off.Needs punted in the summer, dont think he is happy. Not the same wee genius that joined us and sparkled .Luke, only OK.Can’t see the reason for the latest Yang love in.Sorry.

    Schlupp,Jota,Calmac,standouts for different reasons.

Good selection from BR today with Tuesday so close.Very good win.

  11. Walking to the Park about 2.50,a couple of young DU fans about 14 ish….told them to follow me to their end,the kid showed me his ticket to see what turnstile,I noticed £37 a ticket, ridiculous money, and I know that we get charged same…

I’m wondering if we don’t offer any concessionary tickets to the away support 🤔

  13. Can’t remember the poster’s nom de plume but he had something he thought witty to say about Peter Grant. That’s fair enough I suppose

But I can’t think of any other player who cared more about the club. As for his commentaries are concerned, Peter is far superior to any of the gang who have a season ticket for the Sportscene sofa..

i have said for years that scottish football is so grossly over-priced for what is on offer.

and we are as much to blame as any other club.

£37 a ticket for a school age kid is scandalous .

Stephboy, TBF to Walsh I don’t think he got it wrong. It happens soooooooo often that it can’t be mistakes at this level, surely. So, what’s the other explanation? Answers on a postage stamp, eh?

i wouldnt have charged the dundee united fans any more than 25 quid today but i know that isnt possible.

we have had a couple of well attended cup games at 5.30 on a saturday recently, and the tickets we priced in that bracket.

the millionaires are driving this nonsense.

Bada just watched sportscene, empty seats&stands all over this league.something not right with the pricing structure especially at that age.

A Hibs fan at work says his least favourite ground to go to is Celtic Park – he pays top dollar and he says the view is the worst away view of any ground.

And that’s with the pillars, not his team getting beat every time.

Yip heard that from Hibs fans over here. I agree about their restricted views however across the city they can get a perfect view, only peppered by coins, fire lighters and bottles thrown by the huns

  21. Good solid win that should put some performance anxiety into the Huns/Tarts game.

Just by comparison on ticket prices, the A-League briefs are about $35 (18-quid) for general admission, about $25 for concession briefs and $20 for kids.

Yes, we do miss out on glorious big Euro nights under the disco lights but amid this cost of living crisis, you can go, have a beer, see a decent standard and feel it’s decent VFM.

this gets mentioned all the time by away fans, and justified probably.

but we arent deliberately shafting them.

remember that there is almost the equivalent set up at the other end of the main stand where our fans are getting equally shafted. and all the north stand pillars as well.

Yes, I’d love to take my kids to some gashes when I’m off at the weekend but i genuinely can’t risk taking them and risk being even shorter at the end of the month by doing so.

Though, if anyone is needing their chimney swept… 😀
