How many fouls did Celtic concede today? Any younger statisticians around?
we conceded 12 fouls today. against uniteds 5.
we need to cut such thuggery out of our team 😃
———————————————————————————
To add some much needed perspective. Let’s use yesterday’s game.
Celtic were not in possession of the ball (defending) for 19.8 mins yesterday and during that time they committed 12 fouls, that’s an average of a foul every 1.65 mins.
Dundee Utd were not in possession of the ball for 70.2 minute and during that time they committed 5 fouls, that’s an average of a foul every 14.04 mins.
Obviously there’s other factors and “thuggery” isn’t one of them.
No, I’m thinking of situations, where, too often when we’re pressing, for example when we’re pressing defenders deep in their own territory and they’re facing their own goal and they fall over, inevitably receiving a get-out-of-jail-free kick.
I think our players need to be a bit more canny in these situations.
Thunder Road on
Special wee mention for Liam Scales yesterday.
Dropped by a man that couldn’t organise a few beers in a brewery yet he stepped back into our side yesterday and produced a solid performance and a magic moment to bail out his defensive partner.
I’d like to think we would have still went on to win, but who knows what affect that could have had on both sides.
That clean sheet is almost as much of a tonic as the 4 goals.

We need to get rid of the rest of the board now.

Credit where credit is due Scales played well yesterday.
The club should be showing an olive branch to the GB and be the bigger man, I won’t hold my breath though.
As they are collaborating with Police Scotland to intimidate and ruin those young people’s life’s. ALLEGEDLY and in my opinion.
We are now 11 days into January and still NO sign of a striker, is it a case of the board haggling over a few sheckles? Bar stewards that they are.
Now surely the sheep can have a good at these Ersholes the day.

No full North curve no party,
This was a conventioninal back four playing in front of a calmed down Kasper, who was retained and untested, in a romp where players knew what they were supposed to do, and where. Tounekti was like a new signing, Engels (goal 2) outstanding with a clear MON Maloney rub, there were no Celtic players in Parkhead that didn’t know ‘how to receive a ball’
Calmac ,Tierney, and Scales strutted again, Trusty reunited with a much missed partner, Araujo was comfortable on the ball, if a bit scary without it. Hatate was nearer his best, the whole side just played better and we were Celtic again. Good games from Yang (goal 1) the winger they sent up and down the motorway and packed bags Maeda,(goal 4) no sale without replacement, said a bad bhoy we see how that turned out. Benched Benny Nygren fixed his hair and scored into his beloved Celtic end ( again ) and normal service broke out.
We’re lucky the ‘phone a friend Celtic routine’ might yet salvage a season they seemed determined to gift wrap for somebodies Christmas. The irony of the MON presser picking up where Brendan Rodger’s left off “ We need players now “ call won’t be lost on supporters, who saw their decent manager’s position filled by bluffers, almost like a stick to beat a handful of misbehaving bhoys. They’ll be high fiving in the directors lounge, no need to dive for cover, at ten to five today, why are we so good, look at us boom another MON 4-0.
MON’s second coming fair brings down the toxicity barometer levels, but still a job in hand to restore the Celtic feel good factor. Peter Lawwell may have been many thing’s, but daft wasn’t one of them he masterminded the return of safe standing rail seating at Celtic years ahead, of anyone else. The wily Celtic board recognises a good business opportunity in the Glasgow’s green and white, noisey, colour, organised singing. Such a shame, is this infectious grey sterile atmosphere, it’s like Parkhead and no jungle, or strawberries and no cream.
The Wilfried Nancy Paul Tisdale recriminations will come later maybe another WGS review? a marking of one’s own homework en route. A big bhoy didn’t do it, if he did he definitely didn’t run away. Dundee have won their last three games and have home advantage on a pitch that won’t be in great condition at the moment, impeding free-flowing football. Might the gap effectively reduce to 3 points today?
If Dundee can do us a turn, there is a chance that a Celtic win at Tynecastle on Jan 25th could see three teams tied on 47 points at the top of the SPL, with the two Hearts defeats wiping out their goal diff advantage.

Was quite impressed by Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboslai the other day, before they played Arsenal @ the Emirates…..Paraphrasing
‘They’re talking about Arsenal as if they are Champions, you dont become Champions in January…
No, they are playing the Champions, us, Liverpool….’
That is an attitude you would never have got from Brother Wilfried, but you would and will get from Martin O’Neill & Co
And should get from all of us, tell all the folks you know, we’re going for our fifth SPL Title in a row
That is what the Celtic players will be hearing from Martin & Co.
Nobody says it’s going to be easy, but the players are on board and if the Board get er on board…
