We’re probably at the point where you rest players against Leverkusen and focus on Aberdeen. I don’t fancy our chances on Sunday if Turnbull and Rogic are asked to play both games. You certainly don’t risk Juranovic or CalMac if they’re not fully fit.
Let’s hope we can register a our first away win at the start of October because otherwise we’re relying on Hibs winning this league. Hard to escape the feeling right now that ultimately the die on this season has been cast due to a panic managerial appointment.

Going to be a long, hard season. This is a poor team, not helped by being made of straw. Season looks like being worse than last.
Said a couple of weeks ago we might finish 3rd or 4th. Looking more likely now.
Aye maybes Pep, Klopp or Tuchell would be able to get more out of the players we have, but we don’t have any of those at the club, so why in Gods name even mention them, it’s ludicrous, good players in the main are all about playing consistently week in week out, mediocre players do it reasonably consistently, players at our level it’s really hope for the best, else they wouldn’t be with us they would be playing at a higher level, also all the blame for the mess we are in has to come from the top, they recruited the scouting dept, the coaching dept, and our new manager who is only a coach with no teeth, he like most in his position will just be delighted that he has the chance to work at a high-ish profile euro team, those on his back get a grip FFS, he is not the reason we are are where we are.

On the week after November 28 1998 it was rumoured that prior to the game on the Saturday the press had been advised that our highly rated manager, only hired late that summer due to our first choice turning us doon, depending on the severity of the score would be getting the sugar lump.
Celtic 5 deidco 1, demolition derby, a star was born in the hops that day, never to be forgotten.
Angie will lead us tae the promised land.
JHB on
So many heads in the sand since the start of the season – you know the ones – they come on before EVERY game and say 3-0, or, 5-0 to Celtic and if you disagree, you’re a “hun”😅.
Look, we had it easy for nine years with no real opposition – it will take 2/3 seasons, a big throughput of players, a few managers and some changes at board-level to sort out. We need to stop the decent first, then stabilise, only after that can we start moving forward…..nobody wins forever!!!
shaunamura on
Disappointing result and display again however with a decent striker we win that game
can remember many posters raving about Soro last year and clamoring for him instead of our Captain was never that impressed, could say the same about Turnbull who got rave reviews because of the lack of talent around him. Rogic can not be played on a weekly basis he just does not have the engine for it ,if he had he would not be at Paradise .
The Manager inherited this shambles of a squad and will need more time than the end of September to fix it,that said he is not above criticism and if he is responsible for Starfelt that is worrying

I think most fans would accept a challenge this season. A real decent challenge where we take the league into May. It’ll be done and dusted by December at this rate – for us anyway. That can never be acceptable for Celtic and I’d question the standards of the fans saying blindly, ‘give Ange the season’.
On the bright side, we could be spared Champions League quailifiers next season if we finish 4th.

RC, I can’t recall anyone on here praising the signing of Ajeti, as for missing Tonev that’s all down tae the Lurgan Lout who was desperate tae keep big Eddy, he also courted the Wall to long which meant we had tae go for Barkas.

Brian F – How late did we sign Ange, how long did he have to identify with whoever was buying the players/what positions etc.
Strip it back the board should have sacked NFL last October and did not. Then we got told Howe was coming, by the time Ange did come we were to busy trying to get rid of players who did not want to be here. Then as any new manager does he wants to see what he has to work with then identifies positions that need filled, that all takes time.
I still think we should be beating todays opponents with what we have, but it’s not unlucky to keep missing sitters it’s bad finishing and well not very good players.
Off to try and eat something my first food in about 5 days…aff oot.

The manager has a massive rebuild and we are only at the start. It’s not his fault we were allowed to decay over the years. It’s not his fault we were left with a team of players who were unfit both physically and mentally. It’s not his fault we have a board who are more interested in keeping our friends across the city afloat than on making us what we should be.
I fear for Ange but as I said, the majority of fans know who the real bad guys are and will make their feeling known when the time comes.

He’s been outplayed by managers of livi, D utd, etc etc. His biggest fault is team selection which is killing us. So many poor performances by rubbish players being rewarded by continued starts. Does he do any analysis or reflection? That’s stupid to suggest because how could he possibly continue with such awful performances from Ajetti, rogic turnbull, starfeld, soro, etc. Look how often these players lose possession, and continue to play. I know there are injuries, and that’s a truly awful shambles, but ap has not shown any tactical nous or ability to change or win a game. Sack him and get st Johnston mgr. Just a suggestion.
