Somebody posted yesterday after the huns game saying we shouldn’t worry as they are gash . Well , there will be plenty on hun sites tonight saying the very same thing about us .

Not that the huns are the only team we will have to worry about this season .

  2. Ange’s post match comments were every bit as delusional and gas lighting as any I heard from Lennon last season.

I don’t want to hear Ange throw anyone under the bus but please don’t insult us by telling us that today we got a performance we wanted to see.

That’s just plain insulting. Don’t defecate in my garden and then tell me you’ve fertilised my flower bed !

Those who love the club started worrying when Lennon was appointed in the showers….the rest is history.

  4. ROLLING_STONE

You’re right about Abada’s height but then don’t pump balls into the box. I think he could play through the middle but the point is, even if Ajeti was 7′, he’s nothing – less than nothing.

Didn’t Lennon once say about Samaras that these are the kind of players who get managers the sack?

I want Ajeti to come good and every time he scores I kid myself that he can kick on but the truth is, he should be nowhere near the line-up.

“If we weren’t playing well I’d be looking at things differently. But with the efforts we’re putting in, the football we’re playing, the chances we’re creating and the players we have to come back, I just see it differently.”

    100% correct Ange.

  6. Back in from the game. Mixed feelings. Some great football but not sustained.

Some great chances not converted. Hit the bar three times. Incredible.

Some players were off and some were on. Not going to name individuals because this was definitely a collective effort / failure. Including the manager.

One of those games was how someone behind me summed it up. I agree. And hope it’s not going to be a repetitive phrase.

Worst performance of the day was the ref and assistant ref. Fouls not given, fouls invented against us, dangerous tackle on McCarthy looked like a straight red to me. And the late tackle on the same player should have been a yellow. Three times in the first half Jota was given offside. I would be very surprised if at least two of them were inside.

Decided that we can play good football but we are too nice. We need a growler in the midfield to be in the faces of the opposition and to give it to the ref (Joe Hart and Tim Rogic did confront the ref but not angrily enough).

  7. Surely – after the shambles of last season followed up by the very late appoinment of the new manger – we were all well aware that this season would be transitional. Mores so when the new manager gets handicapped by inheriting a failed coaching team and halving half his first team squad out injured….

yet here we are in September getting comments like….

“Sack him now. Get St Johnson mgr. Simples”

Clearly – assuming all the posters on here are in fact Celtic supporters- some of us don’t have the patience or the stomach for this first team rebuild. We must give this guy a chance, he can only be judged when he has his preferred eleven first team picks available and playing, until them for me its KTF>/b>.

  8. @ GEEBEE1978 on 26TH SEPTEMBER 2021 7:21 PM

Agree about him wanting to come good – I want all our signings to end up like VVD!

But I don’t think it’s realistic to suggest that we can play a 5’6 wingers through the middle against packed defences, notwithstanding Ajeti’s shortcomings.

We have tried Forrest (various), MJ (at Ibrox), Morgan (LC final), Christie (Ferencvaros) and potentially others that I can’t recall. None of them have worked.

It’s a source of frustration that there is no plan B, but with the players available, there is zero opportunity for a sensible plan B.

There has to be a recognition of the situation the Board have left Ange in when considering the performances.

    On the money!

Imagine the outcry if we sacked him and got Jack Ross or Calum Davidson……

I’m sure many of us are resigned to possibly not winning anything this season.

I for one, just want to see progress…

  10. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Red card all day long.

Criminal neglect of primary duty by referee to protect player safety.

    Disgraceful.

  11. Cannas believe I’m agreeing with ONIL but IMHO he’s been right in all his postings. As for big McCarthy, he wisnae subbed for being urine but tae save him from further long term injury.

Someone posted yesterday that Livi had lost 5 goals since beating us. Mibbees just mibbes they were cream crackered after the pounding they took fae us last weekend. So put yer money on the stags for at least a point next weekend.

We all want the same thing my friend.

Different ideas about how we achieve that.

  14. blowing the 10 last season was difficult to stomach, but to hand thems this season entry to champions league money bags will be the final straw for many.

  15. as I said earlier if the fans new it was a red then the players are wimps for not getting in the refs face and demanding justice was served.

  16. prestonpans bhoys on

I thought the first half was decent, then second half we descended into Livingston mode. Another awful display.

  17. on a real bad point,

who ever the rocket is that lauched their cokes from top tier, in the second half, you hit a learning difficulty boy in section 137 and soaked all the others around them,

the bhoy was maybe 15 or so, but terrified to go back to his seat, well done you morons.

did anyone see who threw the missles ?

  18. I saw earlier, sorry can’t remember who that Ange was responsible for signing Starfelt, Ange is on record saying the scouting staff recommended him, that they had been keeping tabs on him for some time, the only player that Ange is 100% responsible for is our Japanese bhoy, the rest are down to the scouting dept, this came from Anges mouth, he may well have agreed that they be signed, why wouldn’t he.

  19. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 26TH SEPTEMBER 2021 7:36 PM

You and I on the same page – who would have thunk that :-)

  20. Will we get the results of the January Review, Strachan’s Consultancy Report, and Nicholson’s Evolutionary Initiatives re Darwinian Principles as one giant compendium, or will they all quietly get forgotten, and swept under the carpet, to join Res 12, EBTs and imperfect registrations?

What was the point of signing Shaw, Urgohide and Scales if they are not good enough to play?

They must be pretty bad if Ajeti gets in ahead of them?

Why did we wait until the last day to sign the Greek striker? Why was he so unfit?

We haven’t won at Livi in 5 seasons. The Chuckles Bros. were at all of them. What did they do differently last week? Nothing. Kennedy looked lugubriously at the ground while Strachan stared at his IPad. If this is an indication of how we react to adversity, or alter our tactics, then we are indubitably in for a hard time this season with these serial losers as coaching staff. Did anyone see them consulting with Postecoglou today? I didn’t.

Everywhere I look, from the top down, from the distant major shareholder, to the lying, deceitful Board, to the nodding dog Bankier, to the coaching, to the lack of a D of F, to the lack of a Head of Recruitment, to our dilatory appointment of an unemployed sports scientists with an unexplained plethora of previous clubs, to our shockingly late reactions to serious injuries ( Taylor, Johnston, Tierney are 3 examples ), through our ticketing systems and Celtic TV, I see a stunningly poorly run Club, with zero effort to modernize. Why don’t we, at a minimum, appoint a forward thinking CEO to start doing that?

    Oh! Wait!

    100% correct Ange

    Is defending part of football?

Wake up and smell the shite!

Our team, squad, management, coaches and entire organisation is rank rotten.

  23. Didn’t see the game but I can visualise it.

Watched Brentford vs Liverpool yesterday Toney is a player ,who thought that Ayeti was anyway neat that class .

Toney will be sold on for a vast profit .What do you think Lawwell?

    Work in progress Vale.

We cannot expect instant success, the guy is just in the door.

Judge him ny where we are mid january.

  25. I think all fans knew before kick-off today that missing Cal Mac, Jamesie and Kyogo probably meant that Big AP’s style of play would be difficult to achieve.

I think most of the Support before kick-off genuinely saw the green shoots of some sort of recovery thanks to Big AP’s appointment……

Before kick-off most had little regard for Ajeti and held a comprehensive knowledge Tom’s inconsistencies………

Any one of those three crossbar hits goes in and we’d a snuck a nice 3 pts instead of dropping two.

    Thems the margins.

  26. does anyone think that if that tackle on our player had been a tackle on one of thems at thems park that the whole dug out would have emptied in protest other than to get up and hand out water bottles, nae didnt think so.

  27. ONENIGHTINLISBON

    No!

The guy was a cheap affterthought.

Couple of decent signings followed by the usual dross.

We have a terrible squad, terrible coaches, no scouting system and a feckin useless board but hay ho, it’ll be all right given time.

    No it won’t.

    We learn nothing.
