I heard Brendan Rodgers left early as usual and missed the winner.

    —–

He certainly made sure that we didn’t miss winning anything domestically when he was here. In my opinion he will return someday – hope I see it.

  2. I’m probably a lone voice and as such I expect pelters but here goes.

Nir Biton has been slagged and it was suggested he let the team down by his red card but the poor guy was on the receiving end of two howlers from Ralston and Taylor, yet he gets all the blame. As for the second yellow, it was never a card in the first place.

    Tin hat on

Did he leave, or was he chased?

It is in Scotland. If you’re a Celtic player. Especially if it you’re already on a yellow.

    But aren’t the English terrible?

No need for a tin hat on my part, fair assessment. Nir has been used by every manager at Celtic he has played under, never ever been 1st choice by any though and that’s what makes him second choice in everyone’s eyes and an easy target for the moaners. It leaves us with a probable situation, if Callum doesn’t play, of having to give James McC. a start, which again won’t go down well with many, alas if he plays we need to give him every encouragement on Wednesday as it is a full house the last thing we need to hear are moans and groans, that is NOT what we need in this game, most definitely not! por cierto.

As for Aaron Ramsey, Juve are trying to punt him out on loan and Sevco have asked how much of his wages they need to pay. So says Italian media

    Cheers Deniabhoy.

    That one made me chuckle.

    Perhaps that is unkind.

Let’s assume for a second the story is true.

If it is, and the answer to the “how much of his wages” question is “10% or more”, ..

…. that would indicate 2 things

    Sevco …

    1. Are going all in

    2. Haven’t learned a thing

  7. The only thing I hold against Brendan Rodgers was the timing of his

    leaving us

No REAL Celtic fan would have left us half way through the season

  8. Spreading the Protestant faith was a genuine impetus for empire building and Scots were well to the fore in the decades of missionary work that accompanied Britain’s imperial conquest and colonisation of what eventually amounted to one-quarter of the world’s population and one-fifth of its land.

Not much “missionary work” needed in an independent Scotland – we will be squeezed till our pips squeak.

    Understand your feelings.

We lost nothing when Brendan left – we gained £9m that might not have been ‘on the table’ three months later.

People take opportunities in their careers when they arise – being a Celtic supporter does not come in to it – Brendan paid ALL his dues!!

  10. Ramsay’s salary is net of tax so they’d need to pay another 45% on top

The best part is the option to buy.

Nir Bitton has been second choice and usually played in the wrong position, which hasn’t helped. Now Ange wisely plays him in his best position but I don’t think he would be a starter if everyone else is fit. Ange tends to talk up is players in public (which can be misleading) but I don’t think he fits Ange’s system as well as others (and Ange knows this) – he isn’t dynamic enough. I don’t understand why anyone would complain about the second yellow. It was a typical Nir brain fart. He definitely has that in his game. As much as I like him I have to say he has placed the team in a difficult position at a critical juncture. I expect we’ll go with James McCarthy unless Rogic gets back in time. James will need a lot of support and encouragement. But he should be able to do a job if newco sit off us and counter down the left as expected. Here’s hoping.
