Re: Guidetti, I saw him on Friday night playing for Man City U-21s. He looks a long way from being able to make an impression in a top-flight team at the moment. Slow and overweight with a poor first touch. He reminded me of Chris Killen if I’m honest. Could be a player again next season if he gets fit and gets a proper pre-season behind him.

Most eloquently put as is your norm my friend. I agree with a lot of what you say. However, I am not one of those who shifts from moaning about the sieve to the firing of blanks from our strikers.
I have not been happy with our strikers for some time, at least three seasons and the same goes for our midfield or should I say our lack of creative players in that area for the same period..
Hooper apart we have not had a penalty box goal scorer for some time. I do not class any of our strikers as goal scorers, they are all in the mould of feeding off others around them.
That brings me back to the lack of creativity. If the likes of Stokes, Samaras, Pukki, Balde had that creativity they may just score more goals. You are absolutely spot on, that by having that creativity does not guarantee more goals or indeed goals. However, yesterday was another example of this season where despite there being lack of creativity and there being clear cut chances we still failed to finish. We could and should have scored more yesterday.
As I said earlier who knows who is to blame, a combination of tactics, player selection and under performance perhaps.
And yes I agree it is one of those things that the game has been affected by their death but I still don’t want them back, ever.
Hope this majkes sense mate as when I read your posts I dream of putting over my points as eloquently as you do.

I think the solution to our striking woes is simple. Find a partner for Anto. The Hoops, Anto striking partnership was the best we had since Henke and The Hun Skelper. If big Amido is a work in progress then leave him in the reserves until he proves himself and as I have said mentioned before I just don’t see him as a footballer at present, hopefully he will improve as for Pukki again I just do not see where he fits in, is he a forward what position was he bought to fill?

I was only saying that’s what it looks like to me, the fans aren’t up for it in the league either to be honest, without the GB there would be nothing except moans and groans and that my friend is a sad fact.
Back in the day when the team was struggling the crowd roared them on not anymore, when the seats came so did a different type of supporter and it wasn’t for the best IMO HH
Well said and I would exempt you completely from the permanently whining mob.
There is always a balance to be struck between winning football and entertainment. We got the same complaints in the WGS era and when we brought in the more open football philosophy of Tony Mowbray, the team worsened and leagues were lost (and yes I know he suffered greviously from honest mistakes).
I think we should scour the Deaf Leagues for talented players to play at CP. They would be able to ignore the moans and groans that greet every misplaced attempt at a slip pass and every lost dribble.
We demand that players attack but we berate them when they attempt something and lose the ball. We, the CP home crowd, actively re-inforce the tendency to re-cycle possession, via our crowd reactions.
Thankfully we have brave players like Broony, Jamesie, Adam, Izzy and Sammi who will still attempt to penetrate defences, though they know the likely reaction to failure.

SFTB Thankfully we have brave players like Broony, Jamesie, Adam, Izzy and Sammi who will still attempt to penetrate defences, though they know the likely reaction to failure.
My thoughts exactly, especially James Forrest a young Celt who is under appreciated, not every run or shot he has can result in a goal
I know you are just saying mate and I wasn’t having a pop, hopefully you got that.
Stats are a funny thing as SFTB will tell you but it is what behind them that matters. Stats can tell you anything really but what lies behind is open to interpretation and drawing inferences. I in a past life would have to analysis stats but you then have to look beyond them in my case it was intelligence, demographics and other reasons why things pointed to the figures being what they were and what they could be and try and predict what would happen.
On what I have witnessed on the park my inference would be that we will win the league but I have to say I will not be entertained and despite being two goals better off in the league we will not score loads of goals this season or indeed will we create a lot of chances.
Yes teams will stifle us but that’s where we should be analysing and coming up with ways to overcome the packed defences and creating more chances. In the strategic picture you have to look at the here and now and to look back in order to look forward. It is called tactics, plan for the future.
As I say not having a pop mate. I am as frustrated as you and everybody else.
“The rain soaked and welcomed faced Hugh Clark even made an appearance, before he overthrows the SFA.” LOL
There has been a few people behind Resolution 12. None of them want kudos. They want good and equal governance in Scottish football. The most important people so far has been the share-holders who signed the requisitions. THE most important people involved with this resolution is the share-holders who vote in support of it. Hopefully lots of them attend the AGM and show their support visually and vocally. If they can’t go, they can proxy someone to attend on their behalf, even if they have already voted on-line.
It was a great night that sadly ended far too soon. I had to rush off to get my last train home. Bampots were everywhere! I’ve almost recovered.

The lack of creativity is nothing new. McGeady and Naka were talented creators but not trusted to play in the middle, not physical enough o stick them wide where they get less of the ball.
We are scared to commit to good attacking midfield players. Without a real predator or creator chance don’t come along too often.
Time for the club and NL to be brave and invest in talent and entertainment.
Yes Anthony certainly did create the goal for James. However,we need there to be more consistency i.e. although I would love it to be in every game, I am a realist and know that will never happen. We need consistency mate.
