Why do we NEVER nail SPL teams at home. We used to have plenty of 4-0s, 5-1s, even 6s and 7s the odd time.
The low crowds are partly the product of the unnecessarily cautious approach adopted against clubs who have a tiny fraction of our income and support.

I’ll go with the first one!
I might be odd this way but I prefer a good hard, tight game before an important CL match. A dear departed friend of mine put it in my head that Celtic seldom do well in big games when they have humped someone by as cricket score in the previous game. Might be bull plop but I like the theory……..
Keeps us on our toes.
And I’m keeping an eye on Jackie Macnamara too. Neil F Lennon ain’t gonna be with us forever. Always hopeful an ex player will do well in management and come back to us………
That said I hope Celtic hit 5 in the second half!!!

The bringing back the thunder was an excellent sound bite .
The reality is only the support have embraced it.
Our once feared stadium is no longer due to Neil’s coaching strategy.
Teams know our slow build up and reticence in allowing players to attack the forward zones will let them settle .
Then as our crowd get restless at out teams bluntness our nerves will start to show leaving us vulnerable to counter.

Lots of possession and good play from Celtic, – Celtic have missed a few chances but are leaving the back door open.
Unlikely that on the law of averages we won’t score, the key to a result is Utd breaking.

People used to moan about that too. Said it was boring. Said there was no competition. I personally think the also rans have learned that while they can’t match us for technique and level of player we have all the time they can match us for fitness. If you look back a lot of those 4, 5, 6 goal hammerings were handed out in the latter stages of games when teams tired. They don’t tire as much these days.
Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.
Dexter – I remember those days well too, but we had strikers who were far, far superior to our current crop. From Nicholas, McGarvey, McCLair, McAvennie, Johnson, Cadette, PVH, Di Canio, Larsson, Sutton, BBJ – we had a glut of guys who could score for fun.
We have not had one single striker like that for years. Not even close. That’s why we don’t bury SPL teams anymore.
After Armstrong scored he ran behind the goal and all along the south stand on the running track past a stand full pf Celtic supporters celebrating re entering play just before the half way line.
No booking obviously.
Celtic ain’t doing to bad, just too many half chances not being taken. The law of averages would mean we should put away 1 or more.

We had a good 20min spell then Jackiemacs team came into the game their goal was coming.
We lack quality up front and are not direct enough when we get the chance.
Jackies team have at least another goal in them so someone better start shooting. Think our corners are getting worse.

we play 2 styles of football that are so far out from each other in the SPL & the Champions League. Its like being a racing car driver except on the saturday you’re driving a formula one racing car on a fast tarmac surface then on the wednesday you’re driving a rally car on a rough slow gravel track.
