Lennon, of course, figured largely in the 74-year-old gaffer’s plans back then after arriving in a £6million deal from Leicester City in December 2000.
Now the determined Irish double-act go head to head in an intriguing encounter at the national stadium as O’Neill seeks to seal a remarkable double after last weekend’s title success in the 3-1 victory over Hearts at Parkhead.
