Aye according to John from Uddingston on Clyde, whose other moniker is Collumsbeengoatat on the Record forums (and he has been peddling this tripe for days there:
Celtic cheated the tax man with Argentinian money they brought over from the World club championship in a dodgy suitcase (the money was eventually taken to New York to be exchanged as no UK bank would change it – it was Uruguayan money actually and Celtic’s legit cut from the Montevideo play off which they couldn’t exchange because of inflation.
The halfwit cherry picked part of a story from Celtic Wiki which was taken from a Green Brigade forum which may not be 100% accurate in the first place.
Then he is banging this drum that Celtic in the 90’s stole 3rd place finishes because we had debt –
All 2 of those 3rd place finishes which were not in the debt season where Celtic finished 4th and were out of Europe the next season.
Their level of desperation is unreal but not unexpected.
