One of the best 70 minutes of football I’ve seen at Celtic Park in a few years.

I expected Dunfermiline to tire in the last quarter, but Celtic seemed to tire after high tempo football, especially in the first half.

We remain fragile, which isn’t good news for those with cardiac concerns, but we are getting there.

I thought Ledley was outstanding, especially in the first half, when he started attack after attack and also made two excellent tackles after our central midfield and central defence were sliced openwith a tin opener.

Interesting and consistent interpetation of the obstruction rule tonight by the debutant ref. Two yellow card offences, one block on Hoper in the first half and another on Stokes in the second half, were both deemed legitimate challanges.

The SFA just keep on churning them out.

3 points. Move on to St Mirren.

Thanks for the blog updates tonight fellas.

Couldn’t get a stream becasue of work so had to make do with the stressful one-liners rising to fever pitch the last five min and the damn blog breaking and making me suicidally convinced we’d chucked an equaliser.

Still, all the infiltrating Huns – har-de-har. Looks like our luck’s changing. And you mob – it’s always brightest before the dark; the deep dark of administration, loss of form and top players.

Saw a real splitter in the comments tonight – the separation of bhoys who’ve played the game and bhoys who haven’t; the great divide – Ki being slaughtered for missing a pen. Ridiculous.

Anyone can miss a pen – the great Messi had a bad one earlier this season but is held up as an example of genius because he scored twice tonight under duress.

And if you really want to know how even greatness is no guarantee of scoring from the spot – well, just sit down with Roberto Baggio and try to convince him good players should score every time. Or maybe you weren’t into ‘soccer’ at that particular inexplicable historical moment.

We’ve had an UNUSUALLY fraught time with pens so far this season. But like all things in football, that will change, as our form and that of the despicalbe Hun will ebb and flow.

Our forwards are lacking consistency but at least not at the same time – as long as one’s finding the net at any given point in the season we’ll be in there at the end.

Lenny calls out the boo bhoys tonight -about time; muppets acting like spoiled brats becasue the match/team selection/players’ performances don’t fit EXACTLY the worldview mummy promised them needs eradictaing. Pseudo-Huns the lot of them.

In a way, not humping Dunfermline all the way across the Forth Bridge and back tonight will give us the necessary focus to take St.Mirren on Saturday; players on their toes, I should think given the near-capitulation late on.

Nothing I’ve seen from any opponent this season has done as much damage or unsettled me more than the complacency in this team at times.

  4. apparently, they went from 442 to 4132

    no clue maself

but i did see 2 men on Jim 2nd half

    near snuffed him out

    3pts, oh yes !

  5. John Clark needs to shoulder some of the blame for the nervy last 5 minutes.

Clearly he laid out slippers for our players instead of shooting boots.

    So much possession wasted.

So much proligacy in front of goal.

I was really surprised when Ki stepped up to take the penalty.

Up till then he had been wearing his Harry Potter invisibility cloak.

James Forrest was under it with him in the second half.

    Dinner time.

  6. Thought The GB were excellent again tonight, does anyone know of any arrests at the match?

Noticed someone being arrested by six cops outside the Celtic end at the end of the match, seemed a decent age i.e. not a youngster and was’nt drunk for what I could see.

  7. CultsBhoy hates being 2nd on

An unacceptable transfer window performance by Lawwell was followed by managerial and player errors – leaving us in an unacceptable position , 12 points behind a poor (in so many ways!) hun team.

Against expectation (mine) we are back in the race- by the time the Huns kick off this weekend we could be breathing down their necks with a mere 4 points behind. We have to play them 3 times…

The one thing which will be totally unacceptable will an unacceptable January transfer window by Lawwwell… Forget about HMRC – because I don’t expect anyone to help Celtic and I expect everyone to help the Huns – paranoid? No just pragmatic – SPL needs the OLD FIRM.

A couple of good purchases in January and we will over take them before the last OF game..

    Peter – over to you!

a penalty is that, not a goal, a penalty! We won, who gives a shiny obi wan kenobi about a missed penalty? How many offsides? How many free kicks? How many missed passes? We won! Support the Strike!
