    Well like you, hopeful for Kenny and Yamada…

     

     

    But yesterday, thirty crosses in, should have been bread and butter for Kenny, also didn’t do himself an favours when one to one with the defender.

     

     

    Still there is a player there and a loan looks like a good bet, he did well with Shamrock Rovers.

     

     

    Yamada is a different kettle of fish, for me a bit of a headless chicken and trying too hard.

     

     

    My feeling is coaching and working with the formation will see him coming good – of course that takes time.

    Where is your evidence base for Yamada ?

     

     

    My understanding is he has played about 30 mins of competitive action for us and not yet even started a game.

     

     

    Only appearances have been when games were over as contests.

     

     

    As with the shock blogger James Forrest I understand you don’t actually even see the play in the stadium so it seems interesting that you can for such a view.

     

     

    Please enlighten me as to what evidence base you have ?

    You honestly think Kenny’s shamrock Rovers performance is better evidence of a player than a guy who scored 1 in 2 in the J league side who WON the super cup and the Emperors cup in the final 15 months of his time there.

     

     

    I regard Kenny as a really good prospect, I also think Idah can be a good player too (not value at the price imo but that’s not his fault). I could never judge a player on the time you clearly can never mind you are only watching on your tv.

     

     

    My feedback suggests Shin should be as good as any of our imports from Japan this past 4 years. Then again same source said same about Tomoki Iwata and BR didn’t like him and gave him to Birmingham. He is ripping it up there now and living up to what they thought he would do. Shame our top tier guy didn’t give him a go.

    Yes, I believe I’ve saw all of his time on the pitch.

     

     

    If you had saw yesterday’s game you would have seen it was more to do with his positional play and link up play.

     

     

    That of course is very natural for a new young player.

     

     

    As I say, my thoughts is there is a player there and he will come good – he certainly has a lot of attributes, pace, agression, physicality…

     

     

    So a development plan and hard work and he’ll be goid to go…

    You let yourself down with all this harping on about Brendan Rodgers.

     

     

    Maeda and Hatate have come on leaps and bounds since BR&CO took over.

     

     

    Ange bought Iwata in, I suspect as back up for Mooy.

     

     

    Ange didn’t play him a lot.

     

     

    Obviously BR rates him or he wouldn’t have sold him to Chris, yet he is not a UCL level player.

     

     

    He’d be well down the pecking order at Celtic.

     

     

    Brendan Rodgers was very positive about Shin and if he’s going to make it in Europe, he’ll make it at Celtic.

     

     

    So for the third time, my feeling is he’ll come good.

    Tierney’s weighted crosses compared to Taylor’s over clubbing? Engels dead ball crossing is excellent.

     

     

    Aerial ability can’t be taught either, think Yamada is a different option but won’t be a first choice.

    We will need that level of play for Europe.

     

     

    Yes, heeding the ba’ is a dying art.

     

     

    I’m sure players aren’t expected to practice getting up for crosses over and over any more due to H&S.

     

     

    You got a thru’penny bit heed, you’ll keep it.

     

     

    Yet I’ve seen Kenny bury a few.

     

     

    It was interesting our right back and big CH showing our strikers how to hit the onion bag with aplomb.

    I don’t mind the fac we buy players to develop…all good when it all works out…but when those development players are your 1st team choice you have a major problem…

    Your analogy wasn’t very good.

     

     

    Two points…

     

     

    One it gave the impression that the value of those players had dropped significantly, when it hadn’t.

     

     

    Two football players can’t be looked on as assets the same way that shares can.

     

     

    If you have a football club you need football players to make up the team, these footballers are a cost to your club.

     

     

    They cost money to aquire, they cost money to train, they cost money in expenses and sundries, they cost money in wages.

     

     

    That’s the reality.

     

     

    You understand shares, so using Maslow’s hammer you see footballers like shares.

     

     

    The Board and major shareholders in Celtic PLC are businessmen, so using Maslow’s hammer they run a football club like a business.

     

     

    It’s why our old CEO thought he could do that job better than a specialist COO or a Director of Football.

     

     

    Which meant Celtic PLC overperformed in cash terms and underperformed as a football club.

     

     

    This transfer window is a classic example.

     

     

    Sitting with a fortune in the bank when your football team needs better players is both nonsensical in football terms and business terms.

    Yer man Bloom doesn’t appear to suffer fools gladly and I thought it interesting he made it known during the week that he wasn’t involved in appointing McInnes.

     

     

    I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s the first SPFL manager to get his Harry Potter’s.

    We all have opinions which can at times differ. As regards McInnes, I’m glad he didn’t go to them. I believe he is a decent coach and a bigger threat to us than Beale, Clement and Martin. I think Hearts will finish third this season…btw, Robinson also has some merit in his coaching.
