Is your Mum from Armagh or Omagh? Good base for exploring the area is Monaghan Town, nice place. Was in Derry a few weeks and usually stay in Premier Inn. Big mistake, try for the City Hotel which is very good although parking is limited. Hope this helps. 👍

Maestro: not my area of expertise but Slieve Gullion area of South Armagh well worth a visit. Eamhain Macha/ Navan Fort (if it is still open) near Armagh City is also worth visiting. Derry City has so much to offer, most of which you will access via a Google search. Coastal route across North Derry by car or train is also beautiful.

Thinking of taking my Mum the good lady and the cat over to Ireland so any advice or tips welcome ferry trip 4 hours from here on the Stena was considering maybe hire an air bnb base somewhere and visit County Armagh as my mum is originally a McCann with the surname having strong roots there we would also like to include Derry and would probably go for once week.
Derry would be a good place base yourself
Plenty there of historical importance
Donegal(Dunlewey road) is on your doorstep,as is Fermanagh(lakes stunnin).a wee tip may be to drive round the coast Rd,villages like Cushendun,Cushendall,Ballycastle,Portrush,)

Derry has the civil rights museum

those on the season card not going because celtic havnt spent “our money” there is nearly always someone ready to buy your seat at a more expensive price.
cletic pl could do something about the rake of the lower seats to allow them to be used.
i wonder how much allocation the karrots actually took up, and same for the uefa free-loaders.

Re the huns….does anyone wonder why Dave King hasn’t been quoted since the big San Francisco 49ers deal was completed?
Could it be that, they have FA to do with the deal and it”s just a bunch of guys/VCs who knew Sevco were in dire straits?
I reckon they’ve paid around £20m for the 51% and the old board had to accept it as otherwise their families were going to be bankrupt.
This will honestly turning out to be the funniest chapter yet in the whole Demise of Ibrox story.
I see big Odsonne hasn’t signed for the teams who were willing to buy him from Spain and France…..£6m….I’d defo buy him if he wanted to come back. He’s only 27.
timmy7_noted on
As much as I enjoyed the young Odsonne I now wouldn’t touch him with a bargepole. Too many young footballers lose all ambition when the bank book gets filled up. If he agreed to a short term pay for play I might be willing to give it a go.

T7….good point but I would go for it for a few reasons…
He’s 27 and will want to make a mark even tho he is rich.
He will feel at home with BR, Cal, KT and Jamesie etc.
In his last season, he lacked appetite and physical power….I think he could get both back if he signed.
I’d be amazed if BR gave OE a second thought as a potential signing. So much so, it’s hardly worth offering an opinion (it’s sooo unlikely to happen). But, what the heck, here goes.
BR likes his forwards to play a pressing game which requires pace and intensity. He would also require new signings to fall within our wage structure.
So that’s a no, no, and thrice no with regards to OE’s suitability to fit into our team.
Not gonna happen (imo).

*31 year ago this month we took a wee trip hame with the intention of hiring a car and driving over tae the capital of Connemara where one line of me and mrs tt’s dna hail hailed from, the majority though were fae Antrim, Derry and Fermanagh, we left the Bonnie Bonnie Banks at around 5:30 in the morning stopped at Dumbarton tae pick her mum and brother up and headed for Cairnryan via deepest darkest ayrshire, downstairs, we went on the ferry for breakfast and by the time we were finished the mother country was in site.
As we got off we decided against taking the motorway from Belfast to Derry and instead went through the wee towns, market villages and hamlets, that alone was an eye opener as every other place had the different colours on view, green white and gold or red white and blue, especially on the curbs wtf, as much as we loved it, it is a bit disconcerting to see a police officer get out of his car carrying an Armalite or before getting into one having a magnifying glass inspecting underneath it, other than that it was a great trip.
We crossed the border at Derry, and I did a JPII trick on arriving in the Republic of getting out of the car and kissing the ground as well as changing into one of the 9 different Celtic tops I had with me and then it was next stop Letterkenny for a wee cuppa tea or a pint of guinness for me.
We stopped over in a b&b in Ballyshannon as I my da had a cousin staying there, so paid him a visit, and then if was off again the following morning visiting Yates Cottage in Sligo and the Marian Shrine at Knock in Mayo, I said a wee prayer at the wall where the alleged apparition appeared and when I returned to the car there was a news flash on RTE, John Collins had just scored over at hades, that was followed up rather quickly by Paul McStay grabbing a second, no saying that I did that but as chuck berry once said “you never can tell”.
That night we arrived at our destination, the pubs were bouncing and on seeing my top the comment “we beat they bassas” was often heard with the night finishing to the sounds of a local song “The Fields”, couple of days later we then headed intae Galway itself hoping to find a place to stay there but to no avail however we were advised of small town outside, Athenry, the only b&b was taken but another was on the verge of opening so we stayed over in it, slept in the weans bed while they were dispatched to their granny’s lol, and had a magnificent night in one of the local pubs.
The next morning after a delicious Irish breakfast we crossed country, the M6 or N59 were NOT open at the time, but the country roads just like up north were a pleasure, to the road back to Larne via the M1stopping off at Westmeath, Skerries where we stayed the night, Balbriggan and Drogheda it was a joy to travel through the ancestral home knowing there was no one there telling us “why dont you go home”, we were already there.

Would he play next to Adam as part of a front 2?
Or would Brendan wait until OE developed an Idah[end my Celtic hell face]?
Or will Brendan actually get over himself and realise that big teams don’t notice his Pep piss and he’ll wise up and stop emptying the park at the 70th minute, stifling their yawns?
