Its their nature. They just cannot enjoy success. There are still some on here who still have not fully taken to Broony. They will say”Broony had a decent game”when he was outstanding.Grudged.Biton got slated in the Beer sheva away game, turns out he was the most effective player for passing and ball retention.Ignored in the witch hunt. Its the way they are.Your list of scapegoats could be enlarged dramatically.

    Last night’s result/performance?

Working as usual,so can only comment on what I’ve read about it,really. Hardly objective, izzit?

Fairly sure that games like that bite us on the arse regularly, have done for years. A stuffy opponent with only one idea-to stop us playing.

Tends to be that we get knocked off our stride, misplace the passes, make the wrong decision. Make a juck of it,in general.

Then get hit wi a sucker-punch,we all put it down to a bad day at the office. It happens, doesn’t it?

Mibbe to previous managers, and it will eventually to BR too,but we keep on keeping on. The bandwagon continues, whereas in previous seasons the wheels might have come flying off!

    Awesome performance,NAW!!!!!

    Important performance,AYE!!!!

Good Morning Bhoys from a dull damp Central Scotland.Well another 3 points in the bag Hamilton worked hard to stop us creating chances and they failed if we had taken the chances we had created we could have won 5-0.However at 1-0 you are always vunerable to a break away goal and it was a nervous last 10 minutes of the game but a win is a win so well done to Brendan and the Bhoys. H.H.

    It diz ma heid in!

It’s basic human nature that if you constantly criticise it will affect performance.

Bitton doesn’t stand a chance at the moment because even before he enters the field of play he is being criticised. I just wish that the fans would get behind everyone who pulls the hoops over their head. People can have favourites; I understand that but there are too many (a minority, but still too many) who look to criticise and moan at the slightest opportunity.

  8. Bitton is mince, I’m sorry he is. Too slow, can’t tackle, dailies on the ball, mentally weak. Not suited for our style of play. That’s why he’s been benched. We’re a high performance team, if you’re not doing it you get flack. Deal with it.

  9. 50 shades of green on

11 points clear , 2 games in hand, a few of our first picks soon to return to first team duties.

Have had worse Wednesdays to be honest.

O and at least nobody moaning about the songbook today.

Loving the 67 light show these days.

Maybe if the sheep could fill there pen with more supporters they could all have put there own light show on and got to finish last nights game. Ho ho ho.

For all I don’t agree much with TD67 :-) I agree with him 100% re teams parking the bus.

I don’t like to see it when we are up against better teams, it’s pish, I’m sure supporters of other teams would rather see their team going down putting up a fight, most lose anyways when parking the bus so why not give it a lash.

We’ve seen the effect Brendan’s coaching can have on quite a few of our players already. Finally they are showing consistently what they too often showed only in patches.

And that annoys the fans-we see a player having a great game, once in a while, then back to normal having raised our expectations.

GMS and Nir are next on his to-do list,I think.

    Bliddy hope so,anyway.

  13. Did Celtic park the bus when we beat Barcelona 2 – 1 at Parkhead.

A lot of teams – with a budget less than 10% of Celtic’s – come to Parkhead and try and leave with minimum wounds. Walk a mile in their holed shoes. If a team decides to park the bus at Parkhead then it is up to Celtic to run through the bus. Well that is the way I see it. And I don’t like negative football, regardless of which team decides to employ the tactic.

  14. Haven’t read back yet

Anyone know why Liam Henderson seems so out of the picture.. always impressed me when he gets game time.

  16. Rarely get on these days.. working plenty of hours then young baby to come home too .. not much time to get on here for a read.

Sadly got let go from work last week so bit more spare time now..

I remember last I read someone was organising a Q&A with celtic s John Paul.. where can I read them .

    Thanks

I just said I don’t like it, I just don’t see the point myself, I want to be entertained, it’s the business we are in, I would much rather lose by giving it a lash than watching boring pish.

  18. Would love us to get Wee Paddy on a permanent basis. He can provide that spark of brilliance that can open up this type of defensive play.If a bit more clinical, and aware last night,we could have scored another two from his brilliant wing play.He will get stronger and more street wise.

    An entertainer.

  19. Morning all

Firstly, excellent to read Hebcelts news. I can only imagine the relief you must be feeling

To more trivial matters. Nir Bitton’s performances have not been good , usually, for at least a year. Around about the time we played Inter he looked a real class act but he is nowhere near that standard these days. People are entitled to wonder why his form has dipped, to say he is not playing well and to point out his deficiencies. Ronny showed a lot of faith in Nir and he paid him back with some mediocre, listless displays whilst Brendan Rodgers has not picked him much over the last few months which suggests our manager – who might know something about football- has been underwhelmed by him. Saying somebody is not playing well is not making them a scapegoat it is an evidence based observation.

There is though a current in the support – though I would like to think it is not present here- which would not praise Nir if he really was the new Pirlo* and that is because he is Israeli and that makes me sad.

I think Nir Bitton is nearing a crisis point in his career with the re-emergence of the more by the more dynamic Armstrong and the possibility that a new midfielder will be arriving in January. There is a player in there for sure but we may not get to see it.

    Jimbo67

    * in my more enthusiastic moments after the Inter game I may have said this.

  20. THE EXILED TIM

I agree, but when we get humped for being too cavalier we are labeled naive.

Even the late, great, Arch Angel of Paradise on Earth, Jock Stein, parked the bus, on occasion.

And how we would celebrate the results.

I think it’s not so much blind faith but the line before “Faithful through and through.”

    “We are Celtic Supporters”

It’s our team we support. It’s the players who turn out in The Hoops who we are there to see.

The board, the SFA,referees, whatever, they won’t stop us supporting our team.

    Nothing will.

We are Celtic Supporters, and as someone once said, they’re there every week!

  22. “Did Celtic park the bus when we beat Barcelona 2 – 1 at Parkhead.”

    Kitalba,

Exactly. Celtic didn’t Park the bus and still came away with all 3 points.

It’s a fine margins in these games between going gung ho and looking for a positive result.

  23. HebCelt – Grand news, so it is. I’m in a similar “PC free” boat as yersel. Keep doing them Kagel exercises !

Turkeybhoy – Sorry, but I’m not sold on Paddy Roberts. Yes he’s got clever feed and can entertain. However, his inability to regularly deliver a final ball rips ma knitting (how many times do we watch a PR move fizzle out after he sand dances around one/two defenders? However, maybe the rest of the season will change my opinion?

Dundee game – Am I right in saying Broony’s suspended? Will we see an Armstrong / Bitton combo?

  24. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS;

If Celtic had behaved like the liquidated team Rangers had behaved… would you still be faithful through and through?

Morals have definition, as too values and principles. Who draws the line between being on the good side, or on the bad side, and who gets to dictate the determining considerations and the line’s geography?

If not you, or me, then who?

In my world… it is me.

  25. GEORDIE MUNRO;

    Celtic didn’t park the bus?

Absolutely pathetic that some of our fans won’t take to Nir due to his nationality.

I recall a very good friend back home being profuse in his gratitude for a big favour I had done him.

Nae bother, bud. I could do it,so I did. You’d do it for me.

Naw,he replied. I would now,but before that, much as we get on,ye were still a Fenian. I never asked a lassie for a dance till I’d found out whit school she went tae.

The above is the level of those who will never accept Nir.

    Like I said,pathetic.
