  2. Just when I thought my opinion of GFTB couldn’t be lower, his mean behaviour last night proves me wrong.

I can’t believe ive posted on here just to make a negative comment.

  4. My friends in Celtic,

I’ve not read back yet so I don’t really know the mood of the blog.

My thoughts are : Brilliant to make history. A defining day in the proud unbroken history of Celtic.

However, my opinion has not changed. This is the time and a golden opportunity for NFL to depart gracefully as a winner.

I also mentioned an acid test game for Odsonne Edouard. He failed miserably ( apart from a penalty) .

No team in the world has done a quadruple treble. The record books will reflect a unique achievement. But it’s time for a new start.

HH to all and to a magnificent achievement.

my thoughts too…….if Lenny doesn’t go, he’s got to kick on with the young team. The second half performance proved that. I kinda agree that Scott had to be on to combat naetalent and it might have been too much for Soro……but tbh i dont think Soro would’ve been phased by naetalent for a start i dont think naetalent couldn’t have kept up!!

  6. Neil Lennon & McCartney on

Well done Lenny & all the players ~ fantastic achievement (unique in fact). Special mention to Connor Hazard who I think has a great future ahead of him.

    Just for fun, a wee hypothetical question;

Would you be happy to swap Eddie for Fraser in January?

All assuming that both would be amenable to such a switch, which I doubt.

  7. Good morning, friends 4nd 4 Big H4ppy Mond4y from 4 dry, c4lm 4nd rel4tively mild E4st Kilbride.

NEIL LENNON & MCCARTNEY on 21ST DECEMBER 2020 9:04 AM

Brilliant question re Fraser/Eddie… my answer would be yes.

Think we have enough firepower to win games without him and also that the benefit of having such a commanding goalkeeper would be huge.

  9. Fantastic achievement yesterday. A few thoughts

Firstly, Broonie led the team yesterday and left nothing on the park. A true Celtic warrior over these last years and no criticism should be thrown at him—- he has done his part in spades. Can we get another big performance out of him at Jbrox —- 64,000 dollar question.

Secondly, when Hearts revival started the manager was too slow to react. When fans see this they always shout for a sub when in fact a tactical adjustment may actually be better. Manager reacted too late and gave them a foothold in the game—-it’s one of his achillles heels. Wish Strachan snr was in that dugout with him to give him some pearls of wisdom —- don’t see any help coming from Kennedy or Strachan JNr.

Finally the BBC who lobby the government to maintain and increase licence fees have a credibility problem. The BBC Scotland chapter have EBT tax cheats in place across all football events. We had Billy Dodds spewing his nonsense yesterday —- he was really hurting and the bile from McCann is to be expected. There is not a none of impartiality in their bodies and their pain is evident.

Why should the BBC receive a licence fee if it is to reward guys like McCann, Dodds who have cheated on tax and deprived NHS etc of much needed funds.

That said—- we need to focus on winning games ; Lawwell and Desmond can wait until January plays out.

  10. GENE on 20TH DECEMBER 2020 6:19 PM

    Matt

As colonography is even easier as they blow CO2 up one’s bottom – not looking forward to the fasting and laxitives on Wednesday.

    ………………..

GENE…Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mate but be SURE to be VERY NEAR a Toilet after you take the Doses of the Laxitives.

I went thru the same Procedure in july this year, It took about 2 hours or so before the first Dose of Laxitives kicked in the night before the Procedure. I was never off the Toilet. I was dreading the same Laxitive Doses the next morning, as the time to go to hospital approached.

The next morning I cxouldnt take the FULL Dose of Laxitives, as I was also very concerned about how I was ever going to make it to hospital in an Ambulance WITHOUT a Toilet ?

I told the Medics at the hospital at my failure to take the FULL Dose that morning, and my reasons why ?

They went ahead with the Procedure that afternoon, and I had advised them that I did NOT want to be ” Put Under”, as that would have meant an Overnight stay ?

I wasnt trying to be brave, I just didnt want to be kept in hospital Overnight. The Medics then took took the decision to give me the gas…or whatever it was after getting thru about 70% of the Procedure…so I was then destined to stay in overnight due to that decision.

I hope that I NEVER have to go thru that again ?

As someone has already Posted…the Medics will be URGING You to break as much wind as possible…as that kicks in straight after the Procedure..and is obviously very embarrassing.

So sorry for all the horrible info…but just make SURE that you are very near a Toilet soon after taking THOSE Laxitives.

I had previously been on other Laxitives before taht Procedure, but nothing prepared me for what was to happen after taking the two Satchets of Laxitives the night before going to Hospital.

I asked the Medics about this while I was in hospital…” how do you expect ANYONE to get from their home to Hospital after taking THOSE Laxitives, WITHOUT access to a Toilet, whether how you are travelling to the hospital, by Car, bus, Taxi or ambulance…its impossible ?

They advised me that IF I had to go thru it all again, they would get me into hospital the Night BEFORE the actual Procedure.

Lastly, take the Gas or whatever it is they offer, as the Procedure is the worst that I have ever been through.

Apart from all the above I wish you well Mate.

    HH.

  11. he was totally half in 2 by that i lost the plot at that challenge…….deffo a yellow it was outrageous by beaton he was right there!

Scrolling back, my love & best wishes to TheBhoyfromOz, to Dan Dan, to Hamilton Tim, to Weet Weet Weet & to the many other Tims who suffered sad Bereavements in recent times.

Days like today can be bitter sweet when you long to hug someone & share the joy of a Historic win but all you have are precious memories.

Just hope today’s win helps a bit.

    God Bless ye All.

    ……………..

    Great Post CORKCELT.

    HH.

  13. I think it would be in everyone’s best interests if our manager were to go now-out on the highest of highs. He has achieved what no other Celt has done.

I would hold off on Eduard, and see if another manager could get him back to his true form. He is class. (And he was celebrating mightily with the rest at the end.)

  14. wee Sleekit Nasty been cited yet?

A foul on our young ‘keeper and a blatant sleekit stamp on our Captain……

………….scoddland seems happy enough that there ain’t no furore over such offences. It’s okay to beat-up Tims, rubbish Celtica, diminish and ridicule Timdom………..ad nauseam.

I’ve said it before but Celtic should also reference the consistent abuses we are subjected to.

……………….. as for wee Nasty? He will git his reward with a komfy seat in Shortie’s blooo room.

Hearts second goal. Look at Naebalance on Hazard.

    ………………..

I Posted yesterday afternoon about this and its also a FACT that NOT One so called Pundit on BBC Called it out. Naismth was at it at every corner.

For years now we have ALL been saying ” The Goalkeepers get TOO MUCH Protection from Refs”…Youn Hazard got ZERO Protection from the Hun Ref Beaton yesterday, and IF Hazard had attempted to push him away, I will bet that Naismith would have dived to the floor screaming for Beaton to awarded a Penalty….and Beaton WOULD have obliged !

    HH.

  16. Norrie @ 8.27am – Cannot argue with those 3 greats. Superb one and all.

    My pick would be:

    Jinky

    Henrik

    Danny Mc

    Broonie

Sorry went for 4 instead of 3, but there is plenty more.

    D :)

  17. Bhoy From The Boyne on

    Morning,

Another view of Naibody on Hazard:

    https://twitter.com/jasonc5791/status/1340685383877742595

Delighted with result and quadruple treble. But got to admit I turned off before the penalties. I didn’t have the nerve to watch penalties and I was also seriously p**sed off with the managers team selection and substitutes. It felt an unnecessary gamble to break our recent momentum in bringing back the ‘old guard’.

    But anyhow….we got the win!

  19. Parkheadcumsalford,

Agree on the manager. Let him leave now on a high otherwise it will get very very messy ….

There is a team in there but changes need to be made quickly.

Elsewhere in Timdom it’s a more or less universal view —- Lawwell and Board know this as well. Playing a dangerous game.

  20. onenightinlisbon on

My thoughts on the manager are well documented on here but to achieve what he has must be commended.

I agree that this would be the right time for a change providing we bring in a quality coach able to bring in his own team and move us forward.

  21. Delighted to hear Big John back in the game, his team will get a lift but I hope he is disappointed on his return to paradise.

  22. glendalystonsils on

Yesterday was a fantastic achievement but it was also further confirmation (as if we needed it) that we urgently need someone on the coaching staff who can organise the defence , whether it’s a manager or an assistant .

We won despite our massive frailties .

  23. Still sobering up,but one thing still annoying me from yesterday.I bet Lenny as well. The stupid free kicks we give away in dangerous positions.Barging into the back of opponents, putting a foot in trying to go through the back. All with the opponent facing away from our goal.We know crosses into our box are a concern, why do it.

Thought Ajer was terrific yesterday.Elyanoussi, the opposite. When will Lenny learn. He is the most inconsistent player, never 2 games the same.Pity this Hearts team are not in our league. As in previous seasons, they would give the Huns a right run for their money.

  24. GENE…

Sorry for my horrible info/Post earlier, but HOPEFULLY YOUR experience wont be as bad as mine ?

just be aware that after taking THOSE Laxitives you may feel okay for about 2 hours or so….and THEN it hits you ” out of the blue, so to speak”…so make SURE you are very near a Toilet.

My sincere apologises for being so graphic, but I am only trying to offer some sound advice IF its the SAME Laxitives that I was sent by Post ?

    Take care Mate.

    HH.

  25. What a result despite trying to throw it away. Craig Gordon, what a dick. Scottish mentality, how dare edouard be good enough to do that. We need to play two strikers now. Elyounoussi not consisted for a straying slot. Also need more good defenders. Sorry but big Shane is a loaner and we’re paying too much. Use the money to get a couple in. Wee Taylor is all effort but is not strong enough and usually just hits the ball off the first guy.

  26. TURKEYBHOY on 21ST DECEMBER 2020 10:30 AM

    ………….

Like you I thought Kris Ajer was our best player yesterday, especially during our excellent 1st half. Scott Browns commitment to the Cause was superb especially at our 3rd Goal with his diving Header in their penalty Box…which led to the Griff doing his stuff.

I think that is when Broony may have injured his Groin ?

Many Celtic supporters will maybe have a sore head this morning due to the celebrating of our history makers, I dont cos I dont drink in the Hoose…..but I do wish the Pubs were open so I could smile at those ugly Huns…….who MUST have been celebrating when Ryan Christie had his penalty saved…talk about being ” PRE MATURE” ?

Yes, 15/18 pints of Beer would go down very nicely right now LOL.

Beaton is STILL a Cheating Hun Bassa.

    HH.

    LOL.

  27. Congratulations to NL and the players. Is it too early to rake over the coals? If so ignore.

That win certainly didn’t inspire thoughts of a renaissance for the rest of the season, in fact it confirmed a worrying trend. The rangers game is almost upon us and there is absolutely no evidence that we could keep them at bay never mind beat them. They’ll be slinging balls into the box all day long and our back line, on this performance against Hearts, won’t be able to cope. Positioning is awful, they leave opposition players with too many opportunities. They don’t play as a unit and they panic. What’s to be done? We know Julien can perform but can Duffy? Is he really not cut out for us. I thought he had turned a corner now I’m not so sure.

I though Brown did great in the first half but in the second half, especially after Heart’s first goal he should have been replaced by Soro. Elyanoussie should have been subbed along with Eddie. At that point I would have brought on MJ and Griffith or Klimala and Griffith. Bringing on TR as the first substitute I think confirms that NL is not into tactics and shapes he’s into to big individual performances. But that doesn’t always work – hasn’t worked for a while with TR.

    SO great to win but

    (i) defensively something serious needs to happen Julien and young Walsh? Along with Ajer and Taylor?

(ii) I’d say Eddie’s chances are up now – he missed 3 sitters at least. I think Klimala and Griff might work together up front.

    So next game:

    Hazard,

    Ajer Walsh Julien, Taylor

    Soro Turnbull and Calmac

    MJ

    Griffith and Klimala

SUbs, Brown, Eddie, Christie, Rogic, Laxalt, Duffy, Barkas

  28. Like others I saw Craig Gordon display some great Sportsmanship to our young Goalie straight after Celtic had won…and many Celtic players also shook Craig Gordons hand etc, at the same time. i thought he was wrong to throw the ball at french Eddy when he chipped the ball in at the Penalty in the 1st half…MAYBE on reflection Craig Gordon will regret doing that this morning ?

I would bet £1,000 that Craig Gordon would have been celebrating the way Eddy scored with that penalty…IF Craig was still playing with The Hoops ?

I also thought our players showed a great mentality at the penalty shoot out, considering the QUAD Treble was at stake, and how they had looked nervous and tense during the 2nd half, but they picked themselves up…( Maybe some words from Neil Lennon ) BEFORE the penalty kicks ?

    HH.

  29. Young Mikey Johnston did very well when he came on…and showed nerves of Steel when taking his Penalty…heres hoping he is full of hunger and desire to get HIS Season up and running starting with ross County on Wednesday.

    HH.
