I don’t recall too many (including myself) saying Celtic should sell Eddy etc at the start of last season.
A lot of people thought initially that Shane Duffy would be the man to toughen up the defence.
I suspect that had we sold Edouard, Christie and Ajeti, the board would have been slaughtered for selling the family silver and gambling with ten in a row.

Gutted i wasn’t at the game on Saturday, my wife’s birthday took priority
Some great football on show again and good to see Turnbull and Forrest on the pitch too.
I think a game like that will be VAR heavy next season:-
1. Hearts goal was very close to offside (don’t think Starfelt should have tried to play him off there). Definite VAR referral. Probably a goal as was the decision on Sat
2. Celtic equaliser. The turn over looked like it might be a foul. VAR looks at those if a goal is the conceded. Probably chalked off
3. Celtic second goal . VAR give the goal , same as the linesman did
4. Celtic third goal. Abada is offside when O’Riley shoots; not in keeper’s eyeline and Hearts don’t complain. With VAR, Hearts would complain but the goal would stand
5. Celtic fourth goal. Giakoumakis is possibly slightly offside at the initial through ball from Forrest. VAR likely to check – think it is still a goal
6. Jota offside goal. I think that is onside and VAR gives it
Overall , still 4-1 but a bit more nervous at half time at 1-1
thought?

Hi GGH,
How you doing mate? Glad to tell you HT is in good health and still actively involved in all things concerning Celtic,he was at the game on Saturday and will be at Tannadice Wednesday, and to celebrate at Parkhead on Saturday.A lovely Celtic man who goes out of his others to follow Celtic. His late wife, the lovelyMinx of these pages passed away two years ago rip.hopefully will catch up with him on Saturday. :-))
Thanks for the reply. I’m doing well, starting to go out and about a bit more now. Enjoyed Saturday and went for a few pints after the game for the first time in two years.
Glad to hear HT is doing ok. It must have been awful for him. I exchanged with him often on here from his early days on the blog and he always seemed like a good bloke and those who knew him always confirmed that in any posts I read.
I hope you and yours are also well. Please pass on my regards to HT if you meet up.

Don’t disagree , however 😜 the hearts player was leaning forward and his shoulder /chest looked ahead of Starfelts heel ,so could have been given as off ?

Presently we have the nucleus of a very god side , way too god for our league Eva’s has been proven , but we are well short of what is required for European football again as was proven . Here we have a team in a European final who we have put in there place domestically yet in Europe we lag well behind them . Where we have the flair players for our league we don’t have them for Europe , we all thought winning this league and the £40 million plus would propel us further in front of them yet it’s reported they could make almost as much . The old firm fc have a few skilful players but they have more tough battle ready ones and that’s needed in european games . I am sure ange will have noted that after the cup semi game where we were roughed up by them aided and abetted by the hun supporting referee . If old firm fc do get the same sort of money as Celtic you can be sure they will strengthen , they will want to put there boot on our neck you can take that to the bank , will our custodians be up for the fight or will they back ange to the hilt Mibbies aye probably naw .
