Read a very concerning article about these 3G pitches from a goalkeepers view. He thinks he has swallowed some of these black pellets and also picked them out of cuts and grazes on his knees and hands.. Is this a silent killer like asbestos? These pitches should be banned if there is any concern about them.

  2. Some chat earlier about KT as a future captain.

Striking yesterday to see how he’ll talk to the senior players all around him telling him what he needed.

Not the big time Charlie routine that vvd for example could sometimes indulge in. But quiet and assured. And an 18 y/o rookie.

    Quietly, mightily impressive.

Jamesgang, further to your post about Fraser.

When Fraser returned to action, his return to action was not mentioned at all by any English media I saw.

It was only after his fifth or sixth clean sheet on the that they started to mention him.

I get the feeling that as he played in Scotland the English media seem to think he’s not as good as we know he is or am I getting paranoid about my paranoia ?

  5. Good enough for the Spanish sporting press.

    But not the English media.

  6. English sport and its media has always been arrogant, it is now fuelled by Sky money so it has got much worse in that respect, be it football the EPL and their national team, cricket or rugby, i am still of the opinion that they do not know what is in front of their eyes in terms of players and their performances, they gang up and come to a consensus of who should play, I love it when they lose at anything, cmon the West Indies

  7. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jamesgang, the Spanish press know so much more about football than anyone in Britain.

Guilleme Balague and Graham Hunter both have very good football knowledge for example.

Newsnow headlines all pushing the ‘Aberdeen put pressure on leaders Celtic’ after today’s result.

I’m sure yesterday’s headlines were all saying ‘champions Celtic keep pressure on Aberdeen’…….I probably just missed those ones.

    Aye, that’ll be it.

  10. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

    Gerry, thanks.

I listened to that phone in while driving. I had just parkec and was about to get out the car when the Hamilton secretary’s call started.

He didn’t hold back about Knox. His call lasted about ten minutes with Cameron trying to butt in but the caller kept his cool . He basically told Cameron to cool his jets and stop blaming James without knowing the full facts.

It was one of the best calls I’d heard to a radio phone in, not quite Terry O’Neill class, but he put Cameron in his place.

  11. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry , Tim Krul was on loan at Falkirk for a spell.

Your post was the basis of a trivia question about three years ago about EPL clubs’ who’s first choice goalie had played in Scotland.

Heard someone give Madden the full ” ya dirty orange barsteward” from the main stand yesterday. A total embarrassment to Celtic Football Club imo!! Glad I wasnt near him.

  14. The English press have home grown heart as their darling.

    Despite his error strewn performances.

They then championed another home grown keeper in Butland who looks average.

They will never accept FF until he plays for a bigger team.

Even guys like Wanyama and Van Dirk come in for stick from English commentators and only get praise from foreigners.

For some reason others from Scotland do not face same criticism.

I think for some reason they are spooked by our history and sleeping giant potential in future football landscapes

Cheers….been channel hopping with the T20 cricket final. I make no apology for being a cricket fan…..Barnsley just gone in the lead!!!!!! Nice.

The laddie Joe Root is a genuine talent in the English team and is always worth watching.

Gerry, watching the build up to the Man U game and the aforementioned Knox, is sitting beside Ferguson.

It may be a coincedence , Man U started winning the league when Knox left Old Trafford to go to Ibrox.

Bobby Charlton is a good man and due all the recognition he gets.

He has a fondness for us and after he played for us in the Ron Yates testimonial , he raved about the Buzzbomb.

Agree with you on Bobby Charlton. I met him about 3 hours before we played them at OT in the champions league. My brother in law asked Bobby if he remembered him, Sir Bobby , ever the gent, said ” I don’t think so”. The bold brother in law says “. I was at your testimonial against Celtic. You hit the post with a free kick and I was just behind that post….surely you saw me?” At that point I dragged him away before Sir Bobby could respond.. He did thank us for coming down and was very generous in his praise of our support and the warmth he felt from our fans.

Cheers, I had never saw that interview, I vaguely remember the game but forgot how blatant the cheating was…… If that ever happened for us (no laughing) I would be disgusted,

Cheats then, cheats now and will be cheats in the future

  22. GFTB

They did cheat then , but died, the present entity may get the same favour but they are a new club

Eddie, Mccurry for being a man of the cloth, certainly knew how to look after his favourites. The game he booked nine of our players also springs to mind with regards to the erstwhile preacher.

Agreed…..but the flies are still the same and whatever excrement they follow will be afforded the same leeway…..

Personally if Celtic keep collecting league flags I don’t care a jot who we have to beat

Strange that I’d forgotten about that game while posting earlier about 2 sides to a game / view or a coin etc. The frightening thing is that if Levin hadn’t been so vocal and outspoken about McCurry’s performance then he would have remained a top level referee. One of the accusations from Dundee United players were the casual manner in which McCurry spoke to the Hun players compared with them. “Nice goal Nacho” was a comment made to wee rat face. Meanwhile he booked an Arab for asking what excuse he would find to disallow their next goal !

Only in Scotland. Fix the recruitment.Fix the problem. HH

Dessybhoy any acquaintances I had who followed the Ebt mob never discuss football these days, trust me deep down they know but their entrenched wearrapeople attitude is their downfall…. For me these days “aye ok” works, even better I used to work for HMRC for a few decades, I kid some on that I had to leave because of my part in the tax case (I didn’t even work in the same office) but it’s amusing, childish but still enjoyable

  27. Just say liquidation they cannot answer anything in return liquidation, death and can never be the same despite their pals in the media BBC STV Sky Radio Scotland etc trying to create ways to say they are the same. They are a four year old club with court cases pending.

Part of me wants them to qualify for EL (if they have their accounts audited) then UEFA will allocate them heehaw coefficient points as they have never played in Europe
