Not just in Scotland do players get away with yellow cards for red card tackles, just saw Timber of Arsenal get away with an over the top challenge on Spurs Pedro Porro in a wide left forward position. Usual reaction from Sky Sports (on a stream) apologists, he got something on the ball usual bollocks etc. That said was impressed by the immediate reaction of the Spurs players, going after the perp, especially their goalkeeper, well done him, though he got a YC for his efforts to be fair….

Getting back to yesterday, I thought the referee was very poor. He wandered around the pitch as if he had no real idea about what was going on. He allowed various fouls by Hearts players to go without doing anything about it. Then he books a Celtic player first. What will Our Willie say about that in his next report to the public? But then, he may have taught Steven’s how to referee Celtic games. Celtic games..
I thought the ref had a pretty good match yesterday , only got conned once by Hearts player falling down , let the game flow , and got the big decisions correct.

Under Law 12 FA Laws of the game it was serious foul play, that is a red card all season long.
When injury threatening tackles are made I prefer to see team mates react to them not act like snowflakes in the background. Others of course are free to see things from their own perspective.

I am watching The VAR Review atm. The passion from the referees & the VAR team are extremely evident during Rangers games. The Tom Lawernce tackle (Ref: don’t make that challenge. You cannot make that challenge! He got the ball. Got a big chunk of the ball!. Ofcourse nowhere near the ball.) & the foul by dessers in the build up to 2 goals is a joke. The reset iof the phase of play is also a pss take. It will be interesting to hear the review from the Glasgow Derby. The interpretation of handball is again left open to interpretation. The hand in to body but elbow fully extended is a foul & guarantee there will be penalties given to a certain team for such fouls

Those determined to prove it was a hard set of matches to predict were:-

67th= Bada Bing, sannabhoy & Steph BT- all on 2.5 pts, but remarkably managing to undercut this low bar, we have:-

2= Leggy & Cosy Corner Bhoy- 42 pts
4= Hamiltontim & The Token Tim (think his wife is picking them this season)- 41 pts
Our best weekly total has been set last week by The Token Tim (or his Mrs.) with 17 pts and will be hard to beat
Next week we are in League Cup action but the SPFL is showing 2 league fixtures at 3 pm on Saturday 21st:-
Ross County v St. Johnstone
St. Mirren v Hearts
But I cannot see those fixtures appearing on my Superbru as yet, so keep a close eye on that one.
I am Shipping out to Boston on Tuesday and will watch our first CL tie in the Banshee Pub, courtesy of Boston csc. I will be back in Scotland on 3rd October but my internet connection may not be good enough to give a quick update on the fixtures for the 28th September, as I may be on a boat, so feel free to publish the Top 3 for the round and overall Leaderboard on this site rather than wait for me to get back.

Another one who does not understand Law 12, dont feel bad about it many referees are similarily lacking.
Getting something of the ball, or even on the ball does not mean the Law no longer applies, that is pundit talk, in fact the Sky pundit made your same exact point, even added that there was no intent, something else that is not in the rulebook. Try referencing something that actually is in it I might take your argument a bit more seriously.
Oh and another thing it is funny you are prepared to turn a blind eye to injury threatening tackles but get all upset when the victims team mates react to said action. I will say it again, I do not want our players to make those kind of tackles but I do not expect them to stand idly by when the opposing players do. It is man’s game after all. VAR does seem to have focused more on offside decisions which nobody actually saw or on handball decisions, one which went against us at Tynecastle and another which “benefited” us yesterday after the ref had given the penalty. More often than not though the type of challenge which crippled Matt O’Reilly by the Crawley clugger go unpunished. Time after time we have seen dangerous, injury threatening challenges go unpunished and not just in Scotland, the ankle the favourite target a la Matt, whilst a brilliant attacking goal by Kyogo is disallowed by a desperate behind the scene process absent evidence that Kuhn was in fact offside in the first phase of the attack with the linesman trailing behind him. Haven’t seen the incidents since the game,
Thought our was a definite, couldn’t really see what happened at theirs.
My default position was that VAR wouldn’t overturn the hearts one unless they had no choice.
Heard Naebalance post match interview and he said neither penalty should have been awarded.

Pedantic me.
Idah offside goal.
All of Palma body is onside and facing the Celtic goal.
His heel is deemed offside.
He didn’t control the ball with this. And no one could score from there with a back heel.
Rubbish. Var call
How many incorrect offsides given now.
