  1. Time to start the planning for next weekends Cup Final , still when our 3 Bhoys broke up the park at the end of the game , excitement levels were mental such that that I couldn’t remember the offside rule , best thing for the man in possession to hang on to the ball !

    HH

  2. But if you find comfort it saying what happened with Celtic this season just ‘happens’ that’s fine.

    ———————-

Celtic plc , the board and the owners must be sick that the celtic team they underfunded goes and wins the league anyways.

    how did that “just happen”.

  3. My favourite headline so far:

DR: “Piles of rubbish and broken glass strewn across Glasgow after Celtic title party.” Funnily, there was no similar headline about Murrayfield after Oasis played there.

I am expecting follow up stories: a family of four Celtic fans ate at Nando’s on Argyll Street and left dirty plates on their table. Three others had a drink in Babbity Bowsters and did not wash their own glasses. They are all clearly classless individuals who should be deported.

  4. It is highly unlikely that anyone – anyone – but Martin O’Neill could have achieved what unfolded yesterday afternoon. As recently as the Tannadice defeat even the most optimistic of Celtic supporters felt that the game might just be up. Martin didn’t. He was always in it to win it.

How did he do it? Apparently, he does not subscribe to the modern fad for data and analytics. He is highly intelligent and competitive so if he thought that such an approach might improve results he would adopt elements of it.

So, what’s his secret? It would appear that the players are totally invested in him and his leadership. At the same time, MO’N knows what each individual player will bring to the collective – witness yesterday’s subs. The performance of teams is much more difficult to predict than the performances of individuals. (So many moving parts.) It takes a certain kind of genius to get that right consistently.

Thank God for Martin and thank God for his genius.

  5. Thunder Road on

They do the football awards too early.

Martin O’Neill should be manager of the year.

    Nice timing Fritzsong.

I just felt the need to come on and blurt that out, without seeing your post.

  8. Ah finally, I’ve made it onto this Dear Green Place. What a day it was yesterday! Absolutely sublime. It may be a few days until I come back down to Earth. Loved every minute of it.

Never doubted we would do the business but an Our Father, three Hail Marys, a Glory Be and request for intervention from Our Lady of Good Success sealed the deal and Daizen scored shortly afterwards. 🙏

Fantastic day tarnished a little by the hard of thinking who went onto the pitch. Poor behaviour and they gave our detractors ammunition to try to take the shine off our day. However, they would have woken up this morning and realised that nothing has changed and our beloved Celtic are Champions once again.

    Hail! Hail! Everyone! 🍀🍀🍀

    Stivs from earlier

Haw Higgie, my celebrations shall continue for quite some time.

  10. A surprisingly excellent article from Bill Leckie in the s*n if anyone cares to read.

    I won’t post the link

  11. A spokesperson for the SPFL sent congratulations to Celtic and commiserations to Hearts before praising referee Don Robertson and the team of match officials for keeping “cool heads on such a dramatic day”.

The statement added: “Given the speculation about the conclusion of the game, we would like to make clear that, prior to awarding the trophy, we were informed by the match referee that the match had ended and had not been abandoned.”

  12. ADVERTISEMENT
  13. I’m not shy when it comes to criticising those who run the club but there’s not a football club in the planet that could have stopped yesterday’s events – outwith railings around the entire pitch.

In terms of a pitch invasion, the literal worst case scenario of a Celtic goal with the last kick was always going to be difficult to police.

The incursion came from all sides of the ground from what I could see. An impossible situation to prevent once it starts.

  14. Bhoys Town

    With respect incorrect..

They all ‘attack’ at every level BhoysTown, not necessarily all at the same time, maybe some let out a few grains of tooth enamel, others froth, its like inverting the joy, love and sentiment of Tommy Burns and shining a light on fear, loathing and bigotry that goes on here 24/7,its there, its always there.

    HH

  15. If ever a manager deserved praise for turning a game it is MO’N yesterday.

I was really suprised at Hatates omission, but Martin knows best.

His subsitutions at critical times in the second half were strokes of genius.

Forrest totally changed our wing play. Likewise Iheanacho offered us the chance to hold up our forward play.

Changing to three at the back forced Hwarts back into their own third. Sarrachi had huge influence on the game.

Maeda came up trumps once again, what a player !

Johnston gives us something going forward that even Arajou didn’t have.

Scales was a rock, great game.

The third goal is embedded in my mind, a thing of rare beauty.

The Chief Exec of Glasgow City Council Suzanne Miller said on Friday she did not recognise Police Scotland’s statement that Celtic has not come forward with preposals for after match celebrations when these are needed, so both cannot be correct, again after the event the Police have proved that their plan has not worked. People will gather deal with it as long as it’s peaceful with no criminality it must be possible to plan for it.

5 weeks ago as the split fixturesd were announced, The Rangers football club , with a degree (sic) of fantastic foward planning, arranged for Ibrox to be opened on 17th May, and a bus parade along paisley road west from an open top charaban allowing the fans to see the fabled trophy.

with george square closed , it was agreed that the rangers fans could then gather in the city centre for after celebrations celbration, trouble free, and at no cost to them stupid bastards who pay social taxes.

why cant celtic do the same ?

Why can’t Celtic fans see that the Hun board are terrified of the Hun fans, whilst Celtic’s board know that Celtic fans will huff, puff, blaw, then fall to their knees and sell out 53,000 season tickets and purchase up to 4 new Adidas Genocide supporting strips every season, whilst waving ?

And then they’ll make an erchie of themselves on Glasgow’s streets to cement their old firm erchie cheek status, then hope that nobody notices.

Can you imagine the Celtic cyberspace arm of Timdom’s wailing wall with vigils in the carpark etc, if the situation was reversed yesterday and the Jambos won the league vs Celtic at Tynecastle, and their fans invaded the pitch and our staff had to do a runner for their own safety?

Every Celtic fan website would have been screaming for the game to be replayed due to the intimidation of Celtic’s staff, yadda, yadda, etc, etc.

    Aye the hypocrites would have!

If ever a manager deserved praise for turning a game it is MO’N yesterday.

You are spot on, Madra Rua.

I would add one other point. As the season went on, MON gave playing time to a number of players (beyond the core).

Players who had just come in on loan all got time. Yet, as we got to the sharp end (Dundee Utd) some of them weren’t in the picture – including Oxlade-Chamberlain. It seems that MON wanted a tighter group, where he could trust each one.

He jokes about from time to time, but at the end of the day, MON puts results ahead of all else.

Hearts need to look seriously at the physical capabilities of their squad.

It was a c. 60-minute journey from their Celtic Park getaway to their return to Tynecastle.

But, as video images of the squad getting off the coach clearly prove …
