    Matthews’s absence, from team & bench, is a surprise as he wasn’t mentioned among the casualties at yesterday’s press conference. His recent outings haven’t been up to scratch, so maybe he needs more time to get back to full fitness.

     

     

    Fisher in his place will provide great attacking qualities down the right, although his inexperience has shown at times in defence.

     

     

    The key to this formation, however, is having Biton at CDM and Brown on the right of the diamond, especially in terms of our attacking threat. It worked in the latter third of the 7-0 Hearts game, and against Hibs Lenny switched them, so we got to see how ineffective it looked when Biton played on the right and Brown in front of defence.

    This new diamond formation allows him to burst forward which he is very effective at.

    Opinions, eh? I thought he was bang average in 10/11. The last year is the best I’ve seen him play.
