Given that two people have been charged you and your family might want to be careful to avoid being in contempt of court, particularly if you intend to be posting stuff all over social media.

  2. Sevco obviously playing hardball with Leipzig to get the £6 mil ‘offer’ for Mackay, up to a more realistic £15 mil…

A few hair triggers tonight lads. My reading of what Brendan said showed an initial unhappiness that the club hadn’t managed to seal a deal, he then added the part about the intransigence of others. You usually put what you think are the most important factors first when you are trying to explain your views on something.

That’s the way I interpreted Brendan’s comment too.

  8. Wee Paddy was great when deployed through the middle. I posted a while back that it could be his most effective position. He can be absolved of defensive responsibilities and with him being so one sided it opens things up a bit more for him. He has a great eye for a slide rule pass too.

  9. Interesting dynamic now with the defensive side of things. Gamboa pushing hard for the right back berth, he was magnificent today. Boyata too was in total control. Lustig and Sviatchenko should have had their backsides kicked for their performances at Poundland. Competition for places is intense. Broony, Gordon, KT and Sinclair are guaranteed starters, the rest are up for grabs. When Brendan said nobody would be allowed to slacken off he wasn’t kidding. Cards have been marked.

An updated version of a post I made this morning below.

    ———————————————————————————————————————————————————

    Good Evening,

Imagine, if you will, a wee immigrant west of Scotland boy who grew up a Celtic Fan.

He followed the hoops everywhere and was imbued with what we know as The Celtic Spirit.

On Friday night, Bernard Ponsonby described growing up a Celtic fan, and then described the journey of the actor David Hayman, who instead of being born with those Celtic leanings simply chose them and now wears them with pride.

The parents of many wee immigrant boys in Scotland don’t necessarily grow up themselves with Celtic in their genes but, strangely, over the years many who come to this country “find” Celtic — sometimes through their children

But let’s turn back to this wee west of Scotland Celtic fan. Let’s presume him to be the son of immigrants who came to Scotland and did not always have it easy here, occasionally facing prejudice and discrimination. Still, he found Celtic, and Celtic found him — and what he learned from his family — his genetic and Celtic family — is that at times you have to be humble and that you have to do the right thing and to do things right.

Our Celtic supporting immigrant would go on to achieve great things and personal wealth. He would be recognised internationally, sought out and at times feted by the media, achieve success in his chosen profession and yet know great tragedy in his personal life about which he could do nothing and would have to live with the heartbreaking consequences that most of us will thankfully never know.

He would have ups and downs in business and he would move away from Scotland and Celtic but would always retain great ties with both.

At times, he might not always have been the most popular in some quarters, and indeed would not often get a mention when compared to others who have stood on the same terracings, walked on the same turf, worn the same strip and sat in the same chair.

None of that really fazed him — he just got on with getting on, doing his own thing.

A short time ago, he opened a centre for homeless people using his own money and influence. £150,000 was needed to do this, and having opened the homeless unit he set about publicising it locally, sleeping rough and personally spending his time and his money doing the right thing and doing things right — the way he had always been taught.

He will be following Celtic today against Hearts.

He is not as well regarded as the likes of Tommy Burns and many others but you may have heard of him.

    His Name is Luigi Macari!

He is a bigger man than many give him credit for.

    Nothing quite like competition .

    In every aspect of life.

I just hope Brendan can keep the ” fringe ” players comfortable with their role.

I wonder if that`s what his squad rotation is about.

    Broonie is being phased out.

    —–

Brendan ended Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carraghers careers at Liverpool. Reputations count for nothing. When the time is right Broonie will be asked to step aside. Plenty of life in the old dog yet however.

So many great performances; KY, Gamboa and Bitton were standouts closely followed by Boyata.
