  1. HAHAH HA..

    Good wan mate !

I need to take things day by day, as I could easily say ” Yes” and arrange to meet Tomorrow ( Wednesday), but then tomorrow morning I feel not too good…. so I do NOT want to mess you about and say ” Yes” for a Bevvy…and then to cancel that Meet the following day ?

Saw all the comments last night re: BBC commentary – was shaking my head at the TV when I got back in from the game listening to that – “…never a penalty / hard done by / rightly aggrieved, can’t be a penalty because the ball hit is chest first before it hit is (outstretched, I may add) arm [is that a rule?]…”, etc.

Happy to concede that the defender was unlucky, but the BBC commentary was a bit bizarre. Still on the ‘Celtic get everything’ ahead of the Madden levelling-up on 2nd February.

Even heard – “…Hibs will be disappointed in the manner that the penalty was awarded…”

In the manner that it was awarded? What does that even mean?

I wish the clearasil plastic paddies would shut the feck up embarrassing us with this Ira crap. We need to move away from this continual we are freedom fighters rubbish. They don’t even remember the troubles they are all to young.

*we didnae remember 1916 when we were belting out the Foggy Dew and Merry Ploughboy with gusto, the whole Celtic End and the Jungle, so what’s your point

    To Tontine Tim

What a pathetic excuse for singing these outdated crap battle hymns, probably like you I went to St Pats Dumbarton & many of my school mates joined the British army & served there country well.

The Clowns that are singing about British soldiers going on home are probably related to family who served in Ireland, so before you go bumping your gums, remember the Scottish soldiers like my grandfather who fought in the somme & my father who fought against the Nazis so that we could be free. The green brigade are silly bhoys who cost us more than they give.

The next time you go supporting these people, remember the Renton men who gave their lives for your freedom.

  4. Enjoyed the first half, second not so much. Was a wee bit concerned how Hibs were able to move us around a bit and keep such long possession – clearly without over troubling us at the back but I still like Bitton in there giving centre halves some protection which in turn gives full backs more room to bomb on.

Biggest disappointment last night was GB corner. New boys must think they’ve signed for the RA instead of Celtic. They used to bring the thunder and atmosphere now they kill with their pish that virtually no-one wants to hear. If you need any evidence of that – how many join in with the RA stuff? Don’t bring it to our door – you are damaging Celtics brand and standing in the game and doing nothing for the team. Support the team or feck off.

  5. Always pleasant after match reading when the arguments are over who was their MOTM.

Love it when we have 2, 3 or 4 genuine contenders.

I saw this season as being a real challenge. We had 25 point deficit to make up. The new Bhoys are making a fair old effort.

    Interesting few months ahead.

  6. Thank you, Celtic, for last night, especially the first half.

Someone was suggesting last night that Celtic TV were deliberately muting the sound from the support. I agree. I think the reason was that the GB were belting out their tired old repetoire about the IRA. Please give that a swerve and get back to singing CELTIIC songs.

  7. Irrespective of how this season eventually pans out, one thing is certain. We will go into the season 22/23 far better prepared than we have been for many a long year.

  8. Good morning Celtic Quick News………….

Reo was indeed grand last night but my MOTM was Big CCV……what a unit.

I also thought Starfelt had a good game and shows progress.

Two posts — here’s another one.

The GB’s attempts at atmosphere / singing were cringe inducing.

Wallowing in physical force republicanism / revolutionary violence is TFOD2.1 grade militarism and commando comic level understanding of history.

Absolutely pathetic that after a three week break from football all they wanted to sing about was big hats / ploughing / American small arms manufacturing — complete wasters one and all.

I wonder what the new players thought of all this — they had landed into a Burton’s Commando Disney World rather than the famous and storied football team their agents had described to them.

If anyone in the GB and their hanger’s on had any self awareness they would quickly realise that they are the reason why the atmosphere last night was so flat / Erse levels of sweety paper rustling quiet.

Their desire to further an agenda based on violence and militarism kills the atmosphere.

They were a pantomime last night — Carry On Up the Falls Road would be the most generous way to describe their efforts.

Plus their singing was *hite — I have a feeling quite a few of the GB just mouthed the words as their heart wasn’t in it.

I fear the drummer and his pals just don’t know how to read a room never mind a stadium.

  10. PARKHEADCUMSALFORD on 18TH JANUARY 2022 9:27 AM

The issue isn’t that a small group sing about the IRA.

The issue is that the vast bulk of the fans don’t sing about anything.

  11. PCS @ 9.27

Microphone placement — had similar thoughts myself at the start.

However the stadium was so quiet that you could sometimes hear the touchline.

At the moment we are not a confidant support — worry beads must be selling well in the club shop.

Main thing is that the GB were honking last night.

I wonder who is in charge of the songlist.

Does he have a van / trendy gear / take the minutes at meetings / always money for drink and gear / strange accent / hit with the ladies …

I think you know where this is going — the GB are embarrassing themselves and us with their singing.

One of the freedoms that people fought and died for was freedom of expression, including when the views expressed are anti-establishment, when they question, criticise, and/ or condemn the actions of the State.

This sort of expression is outlawed in fascist states, but, thanks to the sacrifices of those who went before us, we are all free to practice it here.

  13. Our Success and Unity is a threat to some, hi-grade krytonite to hundom.

We beat a good Hibs side last night.

The huns go to Pittodrie the nicht…………….I hope they get beat and have many fitness issues following this encounter but I suspect they will get an early helping hand.

    BTW CSC

  14. ☝Just watched beeb highlights…the commentator (Paul Mitchell – “Hearts fan”) kept banging on about how the penalty would’ve been ruled out by VAR, since the ball came off Doig’s chest before hitting his hand. He said straight away in commentary that it was “accidental”, so must’ve been dubbed onto the highlights…

Had a look in slomo…no change in the spin of the ball between Abada’s flick and Doig’s hand, so just another hurting hun…

I don’t remember you posting before so it is a bit strange to have a first post critising Celtic fans, to then follow follow up with a second supporting the British army.

    So, are you a hun

It was a game of football last night not a political rally.

Regarding Irish history — the GB are “Klingons”.

    Wallowing in someone else’s efforts.

If they want to celebrate our / their past — could they please sing about the 1918 Education act?

Says more about modern Scotland than big hats.

    100%.

Time to embrace the 21st century. We rightly criticise the huns for their song repertoire yet the GB are still clinging to the past. Time for them to either sing songs about Celtic or fek off.

  18. A few observations from last night.

Excellent first half , without creating too many real chances. Hatate looks a class player. Pity big Tam was not on his game , as they 2 will link well.

Second half , I felt we allowed Hibs to dominate the ball for periods, without really troubling us.

As for the GB song sheet. The CEO should be coming out from his bunker and making a statement regarding their choice of songs.

    MADMITCH on 18TH JANUARY 2022 9:56 AM

If you don’t like what they’re singing, sing something else. You and they have same rights regarding singing songs.

If you think their views are infantile then sing something that will educate them, even about the 1918 Education Act, if you like.

  20. Oh Aye,

“remove ones right boot, then remove right sock,

place gun squarely above right foot, taking aim at ones bared foot then discharge

firearm at said foot……..the remaining left foot, can be placed in ones mouth at any time thereafter”.

    ONENIGHTINLISBON on 18TH JANUARY 2022 9:57 AM

The High Court ruled on appeal that the singing of the Billy Boys is an unlawful act. So that’s a big difference.

If you don’t like what they’re singing, sing something else. It’s a lot more productive than telling people what to sing or else.

You reckon we should still be singing songs about the IRA? It’s not the 1970s any more.

Their songbook is totally dominated by songs not about Celtic…..
