  1. As far as I can see not one mention about our captain’s performance last night.

    HH the journey continues.

  2. enjoyed last night, even the second half. I thought Ange was harsh on his assessment of wasting chances. The Rogic/abada one was the only sitter i saw

    Highlights:

    -Hatate all round performance

    – one touch then pass was evident in the first half and second half (less so due to Hibs possession)

-Juranovic energy and aggression on the RHS

    Things to work on

-Forrest will need a couple of games to be firing

Rogic decision making a bit off (a dummy or forward run would have seen an Abada tap in)

    – loads of space on our left side last night and McGregor subdued

    Singing

I sang the usual Celtic songs in the 80s/90s but i never started one. Crushed into the Jungle or Celtic End, it was easy to join in.

I think I am like a lot of people who don’t feel comfortable singing in the seated set up, especially when it isn’t full. My view is that i’ve done my bit as a youth and now the baton is handed over.

A Walk On before sevco or euro games is pretty much my lot now. Sorry!

No. I’m saying that in our democracy they, like you, me & everyone else, have the right to sing what they want.

If you disagree with their choice of song then sing something else or see if they take requests.

  4. Hutchybhoy,

No, I am further North in Kusadasi.Google great for info.I look there all the time.Is it for a Holiday.I do know both places are stunning, fantastic weather.

  5. park the bus 442 on

Google search is censored by the bad people who burn the books of the good people.

    Only saying.

  6. I add my voice to the number of above posts calling out the GB antics last night. The overwhelming majority are being ‘tarred with the same brush’ home and away now.

What in the name of God is “joining the IRA” got to do with modern-day Celtic?

Blaming the majority for being too quiet is bizarre, it’s like justifying speeding on the road because everyone else is going too slow.

I’ve seen the penalty, which from my position looked like linesman gave it, can’t see the debate.

Doesn’t matter if the ball comes off your chest. Your hand is high and in a unnatural position, that’s why it was given. Didn’t listen to the BBC commentary as it’s a pointless exercise as they are full of Huns😵

I might add that VAR would have that down as a penalty every day of the week

  8. My only problem with the GB,is that I think they could be a lot more creative with the songs. They were up until recently.Ernie Lynch is right, the majority of the stadium, don’t want,or can’t be arsed joining in.

No problem with the war music, just some of it seems a bit well worn now,mix it up more, they have the talent.

  9. Now I think’s a good time to comment on Shorties song sheet……..

Dancin’ to the tune of the same lowest common denominator hun even while they are apparently persona -non-grata. How fubar is that?

    Aye.

  10. on our songs – here;s a thought –

Lullabies, battle cries and songs of Hope and Joy.

We’ve got lots to choose from…………………….use them correctly.

    ————

stonewall with any set of rules; Hibs didn’t complain either

Rules are always a combination or a hierarchy which are horrible to read but the refs job is to have them ingrained.

The is a get out if you deliberately play the ball and it hits your arm or if you are too close to get out of the way; however, the unnatural position which seeks advantage trumps all that

last night he was close to the player – no penalty

possibly hit his chest and onto the arm – possibly no penalty

ran in with both arms flapping like a pterodactyl – penalty all the way

He actually had his arm above his shoulder , then went down a bit , then up again. Above the shoulder is always a gimme.

Shocking from the BBC. Was the same in the SC 2020 final when Berra did ‘YMCA’ and they said it was harsh

  12. With VAR,if it comes of another part of your body onto your hand, its not a penalty.

Problem is we don’t operate with VAR,so its down to the Ref.Three players bunched together, all the Ref sees is the ball hitting a raised hand. That’s a stonewaller.Never mind the the background noise from the usual suspects.,

  13. Turkeybhoy, Thanks for replying. Yeah booked up for a golfing holiday in May this year and looking to get some more info of the surrounding area as we have a couple of ‘free’ days. Google it is HH

  14. Call them out when we’ve won……………

The Club needs to build opposition to the sleekitry.

    Especially when we win.

In the scoddish meeja you don’t lose friends by kicking Celtica.

    That has to stop.

  15. There were times last night I forgot Calmac was on the park, I think Hatate did his job for him. What a player. If that is his usual standard we won’t be seeing much of DT in the starting line up.

As far as the GB songlist goes, I side with those who say that in 2022 it is cringeworthy. You would think that when watching one of the best 45 mins of football we have seen for years the GB could sing football songs. For many a year the only time you heard IRA chants was at away games, and even then it had become fairly rare. Most songs were either celebrating Celtic or individual players. I used to point this out to English friends when they said Celtic was an IRA-supporting club, telling them it was a thing of the past and the only club still living in that past was rangers.

As some of you have pointed out, it doesn’t help that 90% of the stadium remains largely silent. It seems like if the GB don’t sing there is no noise and if they do sing, it is stufff the vast majority don’t want to join in with. When Edouard left, so did the last great song about a current player. Here’s hoping they can get some new songs going to celebrate our new stars.

    —–

You are right – I thought the game sort of passed him by last night, especially in the first-half.

I am a great supporter of Calmac, however with the return of Jota & Kyogo, plus the inclusion of the three new ‘Japanese Bhoys’….and assuming last nights first-half performance was the closest we’ve seen to pure ‘Ange ball’ so far – could it be that Calmac, Turnbull & Rogic will not be automatic picks for every game going forward. I’m not advocating this, just asking the question.

  17. Turkeybhoy…

…I would, but a bulging disc in the back has me flat out. The meds are brilliant tho!

  18. Bankiebhoy,

On your earlier post about the BBC.I did not realise this war with the BBC and both teams from Ibrox has been running for 10 years.

  19. We will never convince the Shortbread nation of the difference between a political struggle and a sectarian war…………You, me and ours know it (mostly) but our enemies know they have the support of the bitter and the acquiescence of the disinterested.

The Young Guns might pick their battles a bit better, but then I’m an old fart.

    HH

  20. I think that all the players will be rotated. Its what Ange was on about with our injury list. You will see this a lot more this half of the season.Players won’t be getting dropped, they WILL be getting rested.

  21. Those who served in ww1

Or that same army who raped and pillaged

    Those who served in ww2

Or that same army who shot unarmed civilians on our streets

    Let the people sing

    Or turn your telly down

    The songbook evolves.

HH to all match goin Celts your view is important

  22. The bloody awful Papa Francesco dirge would be the first to go for me…

What has the Pope done for Celtic csc ?

And why can’t the team come out to YNWA as an idea.

Songs, songs songs and it’s not even November.

Agree that the fella at the front picking the songlist should be transferred during January but the ole Ultra movement loves its contrarian mindset. Not sure this one will get fixed anytime soon.

Doesn’t matter if the ball comes off your chest…

    ‐——————————————————————

It’s hard to keep up with all the changes to the handball rules, but I believe the following is the latest interpretation:

There will be no penalty if:

the ball touches a player’s hand/arm immediately from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player.

However, last night the ball touched Doig’s chest only in the imaginations of Mr P. Mitchell and Ms A. Bint, so the penalty decision was the correct call, VAR or not…

  24. Perhaps we recruit…..the Moderatistas………….( a two-part harmony wi’ The Ultra’s)

    naw? Too faur?

Then we could do a kinda Call and Response , back an’ forth………..

    Think American high School Bands……

    James Connolly / Billy Connolly

Sean South / The Beautiful South

It might take a bit o’ choreography but it might just work.

Either that or remove ALL the seating.

  25. With the plaudits we are giving to the first 45 minutes from our players, we should note that despite us hitting our straps, Hibs lived with us for most of the match.

They broke our press early and should have scored

The clincher was a handball , not an open play goal

they had new guys in but dealt with our corners apart from Abada chance

We beat a good team last night and sevco will struggle against them again next time
