My original question related to when the name of the covered terracing opposite the Main Stand changed from the Hayshed to the Jungle.
I have never heard the Hayshed name used by my father’s generation who were born in the 20’s.
However I had read about the Hayshed name from several sources — but did not understand the timing of the changeover plus why.
The comment about 1945 war veterans giving it that name due to the noise of the rain on the roof seemed to knit all these strands together — timing / reason / lack of knowledge to me in the 1970’s.
If you want to ask a few questions about 50’s / early 60’s plans to expand P/head with a new stand in place of the Jungle then that would help me understand that piece of family history.

I was at the Wolves game referred to below. I KNOW I never heard anyone refer to The Jungle ( nor any other part of our Ground) as The Hayshed.
“Significant improvements were carried out between 1957 and 1971, partly due to the great success Celtic achieved under the management of Jock Stein.[1] A roof was built over the back of the western “Celtic End” terrace in 1957,[22] while floodlights were installed in 1959.[1] They were first used on 12 October, in a friendly match against Wolves.[1] The northern “Hayshed” terrace, which became known as the “Jungle”, was concreted in 1966 “

It’s a puir scandal and typical of the Scottish cringe and lack of ambition and a growth agenda that Celtic have never won the Stirling Prize.
Nor the petrofac cup, it’s a scandal
Trashing Resolution 12 requisitioners was a scandal too.

How dare you talk about wee JC like that.
Fair enough that he only scored three goals in two seasons.
But he lived the dream — straight out of Annfield.
Guys,
Anything retro nowadays is cool. This Hayshed thingy could catch on with the trendy young team
Imagine the conversation in a trendy west end cafébar ( In the finest Glasgow University accent) while sipping Gin and Dubbonet.
Golly gosh Spencer, just been perusing the old bean’s site of CQN and these jolly heated seats within the North Stand used to be called the Hayshed.
Oh reel eeeh. How cosmic, replies Rafferty. Capital exclaims Ignatius.
How super would it be to sit or even stand in the Hayshed when we go to Parkers Wilfred exclaims. Jolly good show.
Chaps, our new silk woven F@ck the Tories banner would look spiffing there.
But Wills, our soooper new banner isn’t ready yet.
