Super performance from Celtic as we cruised into the semi, and ‘form team’ Hibs couldn’t muster a shot on target? CCV and Trusty this season’s most successful pairing were never troubled by the Edinburgh men who were in fairness, better than the norm, but hardly the famous five. Johnston supported strongly wide in attack, and Jeff Schlupp continued to make Gregg Taylor’s jersey a good fit.
With the other danger side Queens Park also out, it was only a question of when not if, when Daizen polished off a familiar effort from the excellent Nicolas Kuhn and Celtic with Hatate pulling the strings, is always going to be too classy, for Scottish teams on the level playing field of Celtic Park.
Having survived the early second half press for two, knocking the ball long against a professional as you’ll ever get Celtic side, didn’t work. The inevitable second came after the subbing, Luke McCowan just about stole the match ball from Daizen even although he was only on the pitch for 25 minutes. A player with a long Celtic midfield career ahead, gets better by the game.
Predictably, impact sub Adam Idah scored tidily from the bench, to round off a splendid Cup victory that means more chance of Celtic sunshine in Kings Park.
Normally in the cup it is about just being in the hat for the next round.
Today in our biggest domestic game against a tough opponent with a really good support Celtic dominated.
Credit to the Hibs fans who were really impressive. Great to see a good number of new faces in the Celtic ranks enjoying a terrific show.
Really great day. I hope all the new fans were not put off with our 53000 being out sung by the hubs lot for most of the game. It’s weird that we rely on the GB and Celtic bhoys to make any noise. Apart from one rendition of Glasgow Celtic the team for me and you which everyone did join in on.
So pleased that the week break really did show in the energy levels and application. Credit to all apart from maybe our set piece team. Corners perhaps not so great.
For me I really do think the club should do more to help fans access and exit around the stadium more easily. At least provide updated information about obvious roadwork issues etc on a match day.
In any normal country there would be accountability and effort to move people around quickly and efficiently by authorities but sadly we live in devolved Scotland where bizarrely, since devolution, no one seems to be accountable for anything. We all now know this shambolic local government situation and so for me the club should step up and respect its paying customers at least with advance warnings etc. Today the phantom roadworks (as usual no one actually working on a half mile stretch of coned off carriageway) the M74/3 were a complete shambles and led to many punters arriving late.

i was on a supporters bus today, coming from ersking up m8 off at m74, up the clyde gateway, park at nuneaton street, 10 minutes slow walk to celtic park.
the traffic managemnt post game is the problem, closing roads to traffic to let pedestrians ouut is diabolic.
then leaving traffic lights all the wat to polmadie at normal settings just causes hours of backlog.
the eerr was going to fix all this,
not being allowed to park on those giant pavement in the vacinity of celtic park is shambolic.
whats is got tbe do with devolved governments ?

I was expecting a tougher game today but any ambitions Hibs might have had were totally crushed by our almost total dominance . We made enough chances to win several games but left the second goal late enough to have me squirming in my seat a wee bit .
Hibs are a decent side who have been blown up to be a bit more than that by the media after our loss at Easter Rd . The difference from today however was the small matter of not having to play Bayern in Munich a few days previous .

Watching Juve playing at home to Atalanta, 0:4 and could be more. According to some this team participated in our “easy group” 🙄

An excellent performance and result today. Could have been four or five.
We now have SIX days recovery and preparation time before our next game. Our opponents in that game will have TWO days recovery and preparation time before playing us at Celtic Park.
If they go through on Thursday, their minds might be elsewhere when they play us; if they don`t go through on Thursday, they have nothing left to play for and may well be despondent when they come to our place.
Happy days :-))

Incidentally, according to the stats, we fouled Hibs players every two minutes of their possession; they fouled us every 15 minutes of our possession. Also, we had one yellow card and Hibs had three. That suggests they were `dirtier` than us but that is not reflected in the fouls against stats I have just mentioned.
Anyone?

That anonomy has been the norm all season, back into our players and fall to the ground, foul.
Take their number 2 in their box, Celtic player holds his shirt from the back, he falls onto his face, as Celtic TV said, fails the laws of physics 🙄

I think the amount of time we spend passing to move the opponents from side to side and recycling of the ball means that there is a lot of time we are in possession when there is no close proximity between. their players and ours.
They had bookings for fouls as we got past them or looked likely to do so. Every booking was merited, with one being checked for serious foul play.
Our booking was debatable to put it mildly.
Also a number of times where our players were barged (particularly Daizen) or fouled in other ways but play was allowed to continue.
On the other hand, our press seems to result in a high number of fouls being awarded for fairly innocuous challenges.
If I were a cynic, I might say game management by the refs.
I do think the refs are more inclined to give our opponents the benefit of the doubt.

There was a huge gap maybe an hour between the stadium announcer telling us that Dalmarnock station was closed therefore people would’ve made other plans.
The whole infrastructure around the stadium and lack of parking etc is not befitting we need to upgrade the stadium and the the transport links and parking also brought up to a fit for purpose were now in 2025.
One of the big things about devolution was supposed to be greater and more immediate devolved accountability.
It feels to me that we have the opposite. Whether with police or traffic control or so many other areas.
Everything is just about points scoring and getting elected and little about public service and public good.

Good Morning Fholks – Grand Day To Be A Tim.
Thought Hibs were a well organised side and managed to keep themselves in the game for most of the match.
However, we always looked comfortable and 2-0 didn’t flatter us at all.
Good to see Adam getting a cameo and on the score sheet, it would have done his confidence the world of good.
Great to see him praising Daizen (first name on the team sheet) Meada, he knows where the bar is.
Also, I’m picking Calmac coming off – he’s done some serious heavy lifting for so long now, we need to be able to freshen up all aspects of that midfield.
A lot of very goid understated performances today, especially in defence. Yet it was the forwards and the creative men who gave Hibs a torrid time.

Solid performance.Could have scored 4 or 5
Thought McCowan was excellent and big Adam took his goal well
i loved that today.
fantastic turnout from both supports, all the usual empty seats for a league game were occupied, and it felt like a cup tie.
either we were very good and didnt allow hibs to play, or they didnt turn up..
that segregations, way to big a wedge , and why hibs upper tear 4 rows at front left unoccupied,
we could have squeezed in another few hundred celtcs.
stronger with jota for kyogo ?
