As it turns out, the other linesman is very good with his flag.

Snap VB; noticed that too. The Dessers linesman had a perfect view as CD was about 1metre offside.

Aberdeen are awful and the Huns are besting them. I cant see what we have to fear from either of them.

    Grim viewing.

There are loads of empty seats in the home stands.

If you’re a Rangers supporter, there’s nothing to play for, you’ve not won at home in seven games and you could be in a beer garden or something like that on a nice sunny day.

    I’ve seen enough.

Hope Aberdeen are as bad at Hampden.

  8. Wee story about El Diego Bhoy ,Burnley 78 and Bobby Lennox .

When Burnley 78 was the high heed yin at Carling ,I was kindly invited to a lounge that Carling sponsored in the main Stand .

Amongst the other guests was EDB .

By the time the afternoons hospitalities were drawing to a close .

Some celebrity club guests came into the lounge .Which was a great treat for all us guests .

EDB was on on his way to being well plastered .

He had cornered Bobby Lennox .

Bobby couldn’t get away from a clearly star struck EDB .

Doing his best to be patient and polite to EDB ,he asked

him if he had any kid’s .

When EDB replied yes ,two daughters .

Bobby asked do they have a mobile phone ?

    EDB replied yes.

Do you think they would like if I called one of them ?

EDB was beaming from ear to ear as he called his daughter .

He handed the phone over to Bobby when his daughter answered .

“ Hi ,this is Bobby Lennox .

Please come and get your dad ,he’s pissed .”

A spokesperson for Merchant City Community Council said: “Residents and businesses around Glasgow Cross are already concerned about serious disruption following the Celtic v St Mirren match.

“Police are likely to have their hands full just dealing with that. The presence of tens of thousands of Celtic and Orange Lodge supporters in the city on the same day is an unwelcome and possibly inflammatory mix.

“We call on the city council and the County Grand Lodge to get together to arrange for the parade to take place on a different date.”

It is possible to object to any “proposed” march but that must be done at least two weeks before the Walk. Seems like the Merchant City Council have missed that boat.

*several years back the royal black preceptory planned a parade though the high street in Dumbarton, the local council refused their request so they went to a higher body, possibly Holyrood, who allowed it based on the principle that they are allowed to march on the “Kings Highway” no matter where or when.

The only provision was that they were requested to stop playing outside the premises of the Dumbarton Harp CSC, of course they failed to do so and actually stopped marching, playing louder, the old Beach Boys tune “Sloop John B”

In other words they can do what they like no matter what the authorities say.

    Good memories.

Wee Bobby was as sharp with his chat as he was on the park. Great guy. Not at his best sadly now.

EDB was so justifiably proud of his very successful daughters. Never really recovered from loss of his good lady though. A good guy.

They held a walk in Helensburgh just last Sunday, the first in over a decade.

I have some sympathy for the local councils given that they have little or no powers in the matter if PoliceScotland do not object. which they invariably do not. These marches/demonstrations should be banned under the Public Order Act 1936 (and later versions) which, aimed at Mosley’s BUF fascists, which prohibits the wearing of uniforms, by extremist organistions marching down the street. Think Sheriffs have the final say in Scotland, if the local authority objects, as indeed they did up in Stonehaven last March, when a Sheriff supported the local council decision to ban a planned walk. Cannot recall any similar action in Glasgow, apart from a reroute avoiding an RC Church. In effect you are right TT, they are to all intents and purposes a law unto themselves. How are things dealt with in Canada, or the area you are in?

And the penalty to open the scoring should not have been awarded. IMHO Offside call missed by ref and his video asst.

*oh I know about that one as I have some family living there, seemingly the last one ten year ago had been the first in 39 years and the comments after that were “it’ll be another 40 years before they’re allowed another one”, or so it seemed at the time.

*I was just talking to a young lad about this last night at the vigil, I live in a small town now which was like most up here in small town Ontario and rife with the ludge in fact there’s a hamlet close by called boyne, anyway an oul parishioner came in and I was telling the lad that when he was a young boy growing up here him and his pals used to guard the French Catholic Church, “Sacre Couer” here during the walks, it was like this for many many years even in the big Cities like Toronto but has dissipated and it seems as a result of the massive migration of refugees from WWII and onward especially the Catholic countries, that Canada and especially the Province of Ontario has moved on.

  28. Did I hear right on sportscene last night the two placemen say it was an even game yesterday . Where I was sitting in the north stand it was another good Celtic performance , and a training session in the second half . We did however lose a goal from a careless mistake in defence , definitely an area to be improved upon .

  29. Not sure what the clubs strategy is re woman’s team.

We got into Europe CL last season. Kept a rookie manager on. Let our best players leave and it’s been clear for all to see we are bereft of ideas and style of play for months.

Next Sunday rangers will likely celebrate a treble by beating Hibs at home and we will be 4th or likely 5th.

  30. We were comfortable yesterday and played within ourselves.

Really disappointed in Hibs , thought it might have been a really exciting end of season game. Had it down for 3-2

  32. I didn’t pay much attention to the claims that Atleti were poor, since they didn’t wipe the floor with the Huns.

However after losing H & A to a bottom 5 EPL side 7-1 on aggregate and seeing Man Utd lose at home today, backs up the assertions.

I thought they were better than it appears they were.
