  1. Apparently the 2nd striker we were going to sign today has opted to join a Spanish team. NL not sure what the situation is as his agent claimed he would be in Glasgow tonight?

Really getting sick of your Hun undertones to every post you make. Then again, being a Hun that will be your objective…

I’m quite clear that if @OfficialNeil says he believes he will sign #Lassad he’s speaking in good faith. Best of luck too.

really pleased with some perfromances, and we should have won.

lost poor goals, but not blaming the players.

hit the bar, hit the post, 2 one on ones with goalkeeper.

not angry , a little annoyed

so many players out, then lost victor, leave 2 rookies in midfield, and jackson just made his debut.

2 weeks we will have a good squad to go to saint johnstone.

not really concerend with the lost goals, mix up for 1st goal, just happens

  6. On the train home from the game. Always disappointed when we drop points but given our stretched resources it is always a possibility especially when you give away 2 goals as we did today.

It also doesn’t help when you miss glaring chances (step forward messrs McCourt, Twardzik and Watt).

Our midfield was very lightweight especially with 2 young lads who needed more support than Paddy McCourt can ever give. Young Jackson Irvine looked like a rabbit caught in headlights but he will have learned a lot today.

One thing that puzzled me was Watt being played on the wing for much of the game. Seemed like not the best use of his talents.

  7. BBC News (Sport) website – an hour ago!

This seems to contradict everything we’ve been reading about the guy arriving in Glasgow tonight!

Lassad Nouioui elects to join Levante instead of Celtic.

Levante appear to have beaten Celtic to the signing of Lassad Nouioui.

The Tunisia forward was a free agent after leaving Deportivo La Coruna and Celtic manager Neil Lennon was expecting him in Glasgow on Saturday.

But Levante say they have secured the 26-year-old’s signature, meaning Lassad will continue his career in Spain.

Lennon had indicated Lassad would be his final summer signing but it is unclear whether he will now pursue other targets.

Lassad began his career in France and joined Deportivo from Chateauroux in 2008, initially playing for the Spanish club’s B-team.

He graduated to the first team the following year, in which he also won the first of his three international caps.

Lennon completed the permanent signing of defender Efe Ambrose from Ashdod as well as bringing in Getafe forward Miku and Nantes goalkeeper Lubos Kamenar on loan before the closure of the summer transfer window.

“Efe is a very powerful centre-half, a bit in the [Victor] Wanyama mould,” added Lennon. “A little bit taller and maybe a little bit more dynamic but he can play either in centre midfield or centre-half.

“We’ve wanted him for quite a while so we’re delighted to get that one over the line.

“Miku’s a player that we’ve known about for a while but we didn’t envisage any chance of getting him. We got information three or four days ago there was a possibility we could do.

“Again, a big signing for us and he’s got proven pedigree in La Liga and he’ll compliment [Gary] Hooper very, very well.

“We needed to get a couple of bodies in but we needed the quality.

“[They’re] probably not the marquee signings everyone was looking for but we made it clear two or three weeks ago we wouldn’t be doing that because I like the atmosphere in the squad and I like the way they compliment each other.

“These guys are hungry and you’re always looking for hungry players.”

I directed a comment your way late last night which was out of order. Full unreserved apology from me – to much beer and emotion.

Fair enough, but your posts are so similar (McCourt this, McCourt that) that I sometimes superimpose a different meaning onto them in order to liven them up a bit.

In a game where our defence was ruinously calamitous, and McCourt got an assist, played well defensively 1st half, set up gilt-edged chances for Forrest and Watt, not to mention beating 4 players 2nd half before firing just wide, you would agree that it’s odd to find a post singling him out.

  12. Very flat performance from the team and the crowd today.

It’s all very well saying their 2 goals were howlers but so were ours. Hibs were asleep for Lustig’s run at the first and the keeper spilled the2nd before 2 Hibs defenders hit it off each other.

Yes, Gary hit the woodwork twice but we lacked composure and coolness in our 1 on 1 opportunities and both Filip & Jackson snatched at good chances to win the match.

No great damage has been done but we should be trying to introduce our young players in singles and pairs, surrounded by established pros, not in 3s and 4s.

Our bench only contained Commons as a game changer because our Seniors were rested. Neil gambled with the points today and he got a score draw.

We live to fight (harder) another day.

  13. I am probably in a minority of ONE.

I LOVED every second of our tussle with Hibs.

    I usually do.

Today we had a game that we should have put to bed in the first half.

    We did not do that.

Hibs carried a wee bit of luck & came back at us.

    GREAT.

That is what it is all about.

I remember standing in the rain at Celtic Park & leading a good Third Lanark side 4-0 at half time.

    Final score ?

    4-4.

Those are the things that stick in your head.

They are what makes us Celtic supporters, rather than Glory Hunters.

    Celtic WINNING is the best.

    Celtic DRAWING is perfectly acceptable.

Celtic LOSING is what separates us from our neighbours.

    We accept it.

    It is part of life.

How we deal with losing tells us how much we love this club & this game.

I would HATE to be guaranteed that we would win every game.

    God Bless Lenny’s Young Lions.

  14. Missed game today, by the sounds of it young side, should have had game won by the first half, but defensive mix ups and poorer second half performance means a draw?

Awful that after playing one game less than most, 8 points out of 12 means we’re top of the league! Would have liked a wee bit more competition! Shows all the sides are pretty similar standard underneath us.

Also, any posts to the goals?

    only 2 points between 1st and 9th.

  16. Disappointing though hardly disastrous result today, especially with so many senior players out injured. European hangover seemed to kick in first 15 minutes of the second half after an excellent first half, we certainly missed Vic’s influence after he came off and to be to Hibs did make a game of it second half.

Still undefeated this season and 2 week break hopefully means we can get a few bodies back fit!

  17. Mulgrew, Rogne, Kayal, Brown,Commons, Ledley,Stokes, Sammaras to name 8

Still, we were streets ahead of a well organised hibs side and should have been game over by half-time.Post and bar and poor finishes by Watt and mccourt in particular.

Shame to see Paddy not grabbing his chance when he gets it.oozes class but just doesn’t have either the confidence or desire to make him a first team pick.

Really? Didn’t notice that, but what I’m saying it that I would have hoped more teams would be on 9 or 10 or 11 out of 15, but still top of the league, I shouldn’t be complaining!
