  1. Reading back I kinda got lost ref who was losing it with who and for what and for why.

If it was a pub and you popped your heid in, you would do walking away.

  2. Lustig’s legs are gone, so the consensus goes. And this is proven by the Hibs player getting the better of him to score.

He never had pace to burn at his prime and I don’t think it has waned all the much. I think yesterday’s goal was more album being court of position not entirely of his own making (see McGregor and Boyata for assistants)

And yet, there was James Forrest flying past the Hibs defender to create our third goal. Has the Hibs defenders legs gone too?

No, sometimes the other player is just faster. And that is why your starting position is of great importance. Be close enough to to prevent him getting the ball, or just a shade off him to be able to stop hi before he gets going. Or drop off, assuming the rest of your defence are in sync with your choice.

PC Lustig was instrumental in getting us in the right direction for the first goal. And generally had a good game.

The legs gone tag is too convenient as an excuse, almost a mythical as Rogic can’t last 90 mins (he scored in the 82nd minute for Australia in midweek).

    Jamesgang,

You were a lucky man to have the father you had. Maybe you didn’t appreciate it like we all did. I could have talked to him all day every day about his beliefs. But I’m weird. I love God and everything about Him. But I don’t go to Church. I hope you are still a believer. This is for you.

Celtic, for me is not about Catholicism. I was a Christian long before being a Tim.

    —//-

I still am a lucky man as I’ve still got him. He’ll be 82 in a few weeks and sits studying his scriptures and quantum physics books searching for his own theological ‘Higgs Bosun’. Goes WAY over my head! Quickly and dramatically.

I just tell him I think most world religions preach respect for life and earth and self and that if we all did that we’d be in a decent enough state.

As for being a Tim. Imho it can involve religion, but it’s a state of mind more than anything. And my club is open to all. Which is why I love seeing all sirrs of people at paradise.

    Sips, DD,

Looking forward to it. Possibly next home game.

On a footballing note I thought that the Belgian (©️ Paul67) was imperious again and has hardly put a foot wrong since the debacle earlier in the soason. Note to PL, you either need to offer this guy an improved contract with a sell-on clause or back BR big time in January in the CH department, as well as elsewhere.

    _____________

I think Benkovic is also looking a tremendous players. Unfortunately, we’re likely to lose him and Boyata by the summer at the latest. I think Boyata will probably go in January. Hopefully we can at least keep Benkovic for the full season.

Some brilliant play yesterday. Being over critical, although both Hibs goals were great finishes, Boyata and Lustig should have prevented them.

Did I ever tell you the story about the young jewish rasta guy who used to sit beside me at Parkhead. True story by the way

Celtic were Celtic yesterday. Great to witness. Champions elect. Poeer play. Ben n Boyatta at the back let us play. Magic.

  12. I am a big fan of Michael Lustig he has been great for us and he seems to love being at Celtic. As the years advanced I can see his ability to play the wing back role was affected and he couldn’t get back as much. However, I thought when he stayed back as the right of a back 3 then his defending was sound.

Yesterday, he was a t fault for the 2nd Hibs goal. His pace wasn’t enough to get back for the ball and his lunge to pass the wall back was ill judged and the pass back was short. He was responsible for this goal.

as good a servant he is, he needs replaced. Brendan and his scouting team need a replacement.

  13. Thought Craig Gordon distribution – for most of game, was abysmal

He really must improve on this, giving away possession to easily through this

    Just my opinion

Not yet……and true or not, your stories are always good.

I especially like the one you often tell about the god like director of football who doubles up as Celtic CEO while turning water into wine at half time before sauntering across the Clyde without getting his feet wet!

    God bless Mikael Lustig

To hell with your goal scorers, your classy midfielders, your no nonsense defenders.

Those type of players are ten a penny.

What this celtic have missed for the last few years is A SCAPEGOAT (ever since Efe moved on and James Forrest clicked no one has come near to fulfilling the role)

Looks like PC Lustig is prepared to step up and become Official Scapegoat

As I explained to our old pal Bobbyio last night my sometimes sycophantic endorsement of The Great Pedro are slightly tongue in cheek and began in order to counter balance the narrative that sometimes appears on here after a few bad results ( Peter Lawwell is the devil incarnate, off spring of an illicit rendezvous involving Ghengis Khan,Joe Stalin, etc etc )

However for all his malign influence he has failed miserably in his efforts to stop Celtic being succesful

AIK Solna supporters seem to think Lustig is returning home to Sweden to join them. Not sure if that’ll be in January, ahead of the start of their season, or in the summer when his contract is up.

Otis Redding playing on Ready Steady Go. 1966. He is still my favourite singer after all these years. Shake!!!!

  24. 10 weeks until the transfer window opens…..

Taxi for Allan, Bitton, Gamboa, Christie, Hayes, Compper and De Vries. Boyata will probably be sold and will need to be replaced. We also need a right back (desperately), a winger and another striker.

Next summer Brown will really be on his last legs and Ntcham will probably leave (Lyon for another 20m?). Lustig will leave on a free. All three positions will need to be replaced with quality.

Huge 12 months ahead re squad transitions. Luckily we have Tierney, McGregor, Forrest, Rogic and Edouard to help through this period!!

    The Jewish Rasta story.

So some years ago in the North stand (roughly above where the Green Brigade are today) there were 2 young Glasgow lads that sat next 2 me ( they would always arrive late eating pizza slices and usually having had a few bevs and spliffs)

One was mixed race and had the rasta dreads. They were good characters. So one day the rasta guy was later than usual (almost half time) and he was a suit and tie…and a little Jewish skull cap. He explained that he had been to his grandad’s funeral ( his grandad being jewish)

So there you had it. The jewish rasta glaswegian celtic supporter.( great man for the rebel songs also)

  26. Garry – It was ok driving through when it was all Celtic Supporters. There is likely 30000 minihuns there. I’m daft but I ain’t stupid, especially when my Son is there.

He just wants to see the Celtic and who can blame him?

We will hopefully be getting a bus frae EK.
