  1. They come from bonnie Scotland, they come from county Cork,

They come from dear old Donegal and even from New York,

From every street in Glasgow they proudly make their way,

To a place called dear old paradise and this is what they say.

Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,

Celtic, Celtic on to victory,

They’re the finest team in Scotland, I’m sure you will agree,

We’ll never give up till we’ve won the cup and the scottish football

league.

There’s Fallon, Young and Gemmel who proudly wear the green,

There’s Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been,

Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,

And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.

  2. RONNY Deila has kept faith with the team which beat St Johnstone 2-1 at the weekend for tonight’s UEFA Europa League last 32 clash against Inter Milan.

New Bhoys Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong will make their home debut in front of a sold-out Paradise as the manager decides to make no changes to his starting XI for the Hoops’ biggest game of the season so far.

The former Dundee United duo joined the champions at the end of the January transfer window and celebrated their move to Celtic with a goal apiece in their first match against Partick Thistle last week.

The pair will now make their bow at Celtic Park as part of an attacking front three alongside Stefan Johansen, who will fill in behind main striker Leigh Griffiths.

The hit-man has bagged four goals in his last six starts and will lead the line for the Hoops as they look to take a positive result over to Milan for next week’s second leg.

Head to the official Celtic Twitter account @celticfc for all the pre-match build-up and live match updates for tonight’s game, which kicks off at 8.05pm.

CELTIC (4-2-3-1) Gordon; Matthews, Denayer, van Dijk, Izaguirre; Brown, Bitton; Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Armstrong; Griffiths.

Subs: Zaluska, Ambrose, Henderson, McGregor, Wakaso, Scepovic, Guidetti.

  3. Just stuck on my MP3 player, to calm the nerves and this was the first song up, so for no better reason, I said I’d post it and have a cyber sing song. Coz I’m sitting here all alone, not a mouse in the house but me.

As down the glen one Easter morn to a city fair rode I

There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by

No fife did hum nor battle drum did sound it’s dread tatoo

But the Angelus bell o’er the Liffey swell rang out through the foggy dew

Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war

‘Twas better to die ‘neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar

And from the plains of Royal Meath strong men came hurrying through

While Britannia’s Huns, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew

‘Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go that small nations might be free

But their lonely graves are by Sulva’s waves or the shore of the Great North Sea

Oh, had they died by Pearse’s side or fought with Cathal Brugha

Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep ‘neath the shroud of the foggy dew

But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell rang mournfully and clear

For those who died that Eastertide in the springing of the year

And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few

Who bore the fight that freedom’s light might shine through the foggy dew

Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore

For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more

But to and fro in my dreams I go and I’d kneel and pray for you,

For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.

  4. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

Seems it’s Setanta Ireland over here and not Bt as I said earlier.

    New to this stuff.

  5. C’mon celtic.

Does anyone know if this game is available anywhere on demand online? Or thru TV, without a 12 month subscription or equivalent.?

  6. Yep thomthethim, that’s a regular thing in Ireland, when Setanta are showing a game its automatically blocked from BT Sports in Ireland.

Its on Channel 423 Setanta Ireland.

  7. 50 shades of green on

One goal more than them, odd goal in three for the hoops.

It was enough for our best team of fond living memory

Even if yon 18 goal Argentinian wunderkid gets a yard and deflates us for a while

We can win the game and we can win the tie

This is what supporting Celtic is all about- cannot wait!!

    HH

  10. I think we have a wee swagger in our game now that wasn’t there at the start of the season.

I hope Inter will get a wee fright.

  11. Mon the hoops.

As long as they put on a good show and give the fans their moneys-worth.

Though a win would be nice.

    H.H.

  12. kick oan Celtic

  13. Today would have been my Mum and Dad’s 60th wedding anniversary, I’m sure they will be enjoying it in Heaven and that my Dad will have one eye on the Big Screen watching the game, my Mum never set foot in Celtic Park but she would have been supporting Celtic tonight and even more importantly she would have made sure we were supporting Celtic. no Celtic slackers allowed in my house she knew what it cost my Dad to get us to the games in terms of swapped shifts and money saved etc….

It’s an omen ah tell ye!

    Mon The Hoops…

  15. Pogmathonyahun aka Laird of the Smiles on

For we only know that there’s going to be a show and the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

I wish I was, but I will be there in spirit. COYBIG

    Hail! Hail! PMTYH

  16. Just heading out to the pub.

The Rosevale is nearest, emdae know if they are showing the game?

  17. Playing Inter, with the financial gulf that exists, is a huge ask.

I hope our boys produce a mature and brave performance but I fear that experience will out in this arena.

Really need a good start to discomfort Inter, If that happens, anything is possible.

I aim to enjoy this one way or another.
