Strangely stoical after that, team played well for most of the game, if one of Commons’ shots had gone in it would have been very different.
Ref was a joke and playing Ambrose was the wrong decision at that level. Missed the big Tottie and leek too!
Onwards and upwards as they say, great learning curve for the bhoys and some much needed status accrued in Europe once again.
Add to that the money which we have garnered for our efforts and with the league in the bag, the future is definitely Green and White.

Problem is, our stars are not as good as their stars, so it’s really a no contest, our stars have to be playing better than they normally do, and their stars need to be playing worse than they normally do, just to make things even.

Thats the difference between 20k and 80k a week. Its not a reflection of our players, just a reflection of economics (rightly or wrongly).
We played well and for 30 mins in the forst half if we had 80k a week players (or if our 20k a week players slightly over performed we would have taken this game by the b@lls as it were.
Proud of the team and cant really fault them.

A bit surprised by the praise for juventus on here, they were cynical because the ref gave them the favours that allowed them to be, if we are given a pen and score to equalise then they aint so cocky, also the ref gave us nothing, for example the foul on izzy 25 yards out,and broke up play plenty times when not necessary, I hope they get pumped in the next round, cheating rats

Well no gripes from me tonight .
Thought our young team played some great football and on another night would have taken something from that game .
Some may say that juve played well tactically but I saw a team giving away simple possession in most areas of the pitch and a team that struggled at times to even get out of their half .
The early goal allowed them of course to sit in and defend what they had but even then I expected them to pass the ball about the back and control the tempo .I did not see that because IMO our young team gave it their all .
Not one of them let ME down and for that I applaud them .

No way was there three goals in that, Juve were ruthless though when they had to be.
Hate to say it but Neil boobed big time playing Ambrose. Clearly not up to speed and that header and his role in the first and third goals sunk us.
Ref didn’t have a clue at the corners, how the eff did Juve get away with that time and again? And we get players booked for getting held in the box??
A sore one to take, I agree with Neil that between the 1rst and 2nd we were by far the better side. But at this level if you don’t take your chances you’ll get punished. A tough learning experience for this side.

What is Mikael Lustig’s problem that he hardly ever finishes games he starts and misses a lot of games as well. Just watched Lenny’s interview on Sky when he is asked about picking Ambrose being a gamble he said he didn’t have much choice as Lustig can’t finish games.
We lost this game to a couple of errors that were committed by a player who has been immense against other teams but tonight was out of his depth. Not because of abiltiy but because of his tiredness. Neil took a gamble and it didnt pay off, lesson learned.
What I am really peeved about is the lack of professionalism show by the joke of a ref and by a Juventus team who are managed by someone who if he had a ounce of credibility to his name would not let his players play act their way through a game they were not in for long spells. And dont tell me that`s football, if I was playinng against that prick who was marking Hooper in the box he would have went down for a reason, utterly disgusting behaviour from so called professionals, the champions league is a fecking joke.
Very proud of our teams performances in this seasons champions league fixtures , fell short in the end to a very good team who for some strange reason still feel the need to cheat .
Referee and the other officials were shocking , questions need to be asked after their performance tonight.
As I said , proud of what Neil and the Bhoys have achieved so far this season and remember it could be worse .
Your team could be dead and you could be trying to convince yourself that a very poor tribute act is the real thing .
