I thought we were excellent most of the game yesterday. I was encouraged & surprised that we scored from a corner. On an earlier corner Daizen got a head to it & their goalie made a good save. On the goal, the corner was from the left this time, DM flicked it on from the near post & we Greg did the business at the far post. Very well worked, from a corner too – looked like practiced move. Double jeopardy applies where a player fouls an opponent when he makes a genuine attempt to play the ball. That is a booking. A deliberate foul stopping a goalscoring chance is a red card.

Hi Tom, not sticking it to Celtic for not speaking out on the decisions in this hun game today, but the accumulation of decisions in favour of them and our opponents and against us.
The stats are piling up to say there is a problem that needs dealt with and Celtic should at least let the SFA know that they are recording these incidents to be presented as biased/incompetent/corrupt officiating.
We are winning due to having a better team and manager, but the officials are doing their best to keep the Huns relevant and in European competitions. If we weren’t this much better than them, these decisions could end up winning them the league.
I get the moaning about everything comes across as paranoia, but no one can claim the officials and their decisions are the same for us and them.
That’s the frustration that spills over from me and some others tbh. We’ve seen it for too long now and it’s about time Celtic let the SFA know “it will not stand!”
Quote from Walter Sobchak. 😃👍
Basically paying for a system that makes it easier for them to cheat more in favour of the Huns is not good enough.

maybe I’m showing my age but a red card for handball in the box should only be given if you deliberately stopped the ball from going into the net for a goal other than that a handball ball in the box should be a yellow offence.
Denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO)
Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a

Thanks for clarifying ref double jeopardy. I understand that now.
Can you or annyone explain why anyone would deliberately seek to handle the ball in the full scrutiny of TV and VAR. I don’t get that. My feeling was this chap instinctively put his hand forward for balance ergo should have been a pen but a yellow. I accept what you say that it could be interpreted as deliberate and therefore a pen but how can anyone tell if it was deliberate ?
As an aside as someone who does see these things as being officiated fairly please can you answer why when Goldson literally pushed the St Mirren forward with his arm into the advertising hoarding behind the goal the and the referee did not give a foul and therefore a penalty just prior to half time ?
These things are the ones which really do frustrate me.
The Onlooker on
The decision today to award a penalty and issue a red card are correct as per the laws of the game.
I think the laws need to be revised.
The solution to the excessive punishment ” double jeopardy” for such offences would be to take a leaf out of rugby’s rules…. penalty try.
If the offence has prevented a goal scoring opportunity, award a penalty goal.
Allow the player who was fouled, ( or prevented from scoring by a handball) to kick the ball into an EMPTY net from 6 yards.
Issue a yellow card to the culprit.
This would allow a fair game to continue 11 v 11
and would also fix the anomaly of penalty takers increasing their goals scored stats.
Finally , knowing that a certain goal would be the outcome ,may also prevent the defender from committing the offence in the first place.
