They don’t speak for me either TimBhoy.

I don’t know what they displayed today, but could clearly hear the SAM Missiles song during the game, which I’m guessing they were heavily involved in, if not responsible for.

Total embarrassment for Celtic tbh. Need to distance ourselves from that type of low IQ, rebel-wannabe bullsh7t!

Also, signing SAM Missiles, is like singing PIN Number. 😂👍🍀🇮🇪

Already had you down as a blog mammy, keep it anonymous now,you and Tom have a garden fence to share somewhere.where arms folded you both can tut tutter/nodheads and you can exchange ideas on low iq and your race to the bottom, suggest you use a spellcheck firstly tho lols, many smileys, fumz ups are ok,joinin those letters into words is the tricky bit.

Have a nice day now :-))

  5. *SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2023-24*

*RESULTS FROM GAME #11 – CELTIC 3 KILMARNOCK 1 (HATATE, PALMA, TAYLOR)*

    Good evening, friends.

Prior to kick off most of the chat centred on whether the game would go ahead given the torrential rain and what sort of conditions would we be trying to play in. Turned out that our fears were greatly exaggerated and a fine playing surface gave us the stage to play some of our best football of the season so far.

The most noticeable thing for me, particularly in the first half hour, was that we were shooting from outside the box; something that many of us have talked about in recent months. And look what happened – two of them ended up in the back of the net. Some sublime quick feet from Hatate who then found space to caress a lovely shot inside the post. And then Palma pouncing on some sloppy defending to hammer home the second.

Despite conceding a dubious goal midway through the second half (I was under the impression that the VAR would go back to the foul on Taylor that gave Kilmarnock possession to start their counter attack), Greg Taylor then had the last half finding himself in the right place in the 6 yard box to pass home our 3rd of the afternoon.

And of course, the weekend saw us extend our lead at the top from 4 points to 7 when our closest competitors dropped 3 valuable points at home to one of Scotland’s newest clubs.

We have now played 11 games, winning 7, drawing 1 and losing 3 with 20 goals scored and 10 conceded.

As you will see from the votes below, several of our good performers hardly registered a single vote. But that was really down to the fact that there was almost universal approval for our top 5 performers. A perfect example to show that getting zero votes doesn’t mean that the player was poor! Rather it’s just that everyone thought that there were 3 players better on the day. I was also reassured by the fact that 30 fellow voters picked the same 3 as I did.

A huge thank you to the 79 who voted this week. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.

    Hart: 0

    Johnston: 1

    Carter-Vickers: 3

    Scales*: 60

    Taylor: 32

    McGregor: 11

    Hatate*: 76

    O’Riley: 4

    Maeda: 2

    Kyogo: 0

    Palma*: 48

    Forrest: 0

    Phillips: 0

    Holm: 0

    Oh: 0

    Yang: 0

And so, the players receiving POINTS for the game against Kilmarnock are –

    Hatate – 5 points

    Scales – 4 points

    Palma – 3 points

    Taylor – 2 points

    McGregor – 1 point

The overall positions after 11 games played are –

    33 points – O’Riley

    23 points – Scales

    19 points – Kyogo

13 points – Maeda and McGregor

    11 points – Johnston

    9 points – Nawrocki

7 points – Hart and Yang

6 points – Lagerbielke and Taylor

    5 points – Hatate

4 points – Bain and Turnbull

    3 points – Palma

    2 points – Carter-Vickers and Ralston

0 points – Abada, Bernabei, Bernardo, Forrest, Haksabanovic, Holm, Iwata, Oh, Phillips, Starfelt and Welsh

And now we have another International Break – good news for some of us but I accept that I’m probably in the minority! Celtic return to action on Sunday 21st October when we travel to Tynecastle to face Hearts in our 9th league game of the season. It’s a 2.15pm kick off and is live on Sky.

    Hail Hail!

I’m well aware we have a section of fans who don’t exactly burnish our reputation; that group’s repertoire is not how I’d choose to express my identity as a Celtic fan.

That doesn’t diminish the revulsion I feel when I hear the Hun choir’s dastardly lyrics and, more, how it’s always ignored by media pundits (who seem to like to pick up on our hummers’ toons and tifos).

Paul’s blog is great in how some can express dislike for scumsongs, and others their counter whattaboutery.

  10. So it’s ok to support the Green Brigade and Palestine who are no shrinking violets ,young Israel’s out enjoying themselves only to be kidnapped by thugs and probably being assassinated, and that’s ok for The Green Brigade to support terrorists, well after all the belt out pro I R A songs in every ground they attend,

  11. See there are pics of “ super Celt” Scott Macdonald doing the rounds having visited Celtic park at the weekend with his blonde partner …yip the parallels with another “ super “ Celt certainly spring to mind ….certainly in their goal celebrations when they applied the dagger to our league campaigns …word for both ….average 🤔

MU-AT you obviously have a niece/nephew/grandson/granddaughter that is in the GB. Otherwise, why not pups you be so interested in what the GB do or sing?

AT- incorrect MU they all live in countries other than Scotland, born here.

Celtic fans called the green brigade are given more kudos by you,who adopt their abbreviation,i dont and never will.they will be dealt with in the context of that,as Celtic fans.

I am not interested in what those Celtic fans do or sing,it is you who dislikes that.

I would advise you to read Celtics early history, look at the status of the irishmen who formed our club, look also at how they were despised and hated from our clubs foundation, attempting to soil our history and founding from the start.I ask you what song of irish history is ok to sing…..yeh i will be waiting a while, its always been tough being Champions, supporting a club founded for the poor irish diaspora in the land of the reformation.

So in short i will not decry a Celtic fan for singing songs of Irelands struggle be it those labelled terrorists by a global tyrant in 1887, 1916 or today.

MU-Tom Mc and I are only concerned above it Celtic and what might be respectalel/ get them in trouble. Not sure what your motives are?

AT- no motives at all,who deems what is respectability? It is certainly not those of the UK,it is certainly not the Gaza or Janin bombers,it is us the fair minded Celtic fan who look on in disgust at the inhumanity of it.You both may think youll be assimilated some day, tell me when it happens!you will come across those bigots you attempt to define

I may dislike what they say but they have a right to say it and dont be giving me the we are a football club tosh, that was blown out the water when Ned McGinns censure motion to the pope was dropped,we always will be more than a club,we are today, giving £millions to minorities, giving voice when society ignores all thro our foundation

MU-It seems you really need to grow up out of the the I, the I, R, A brigade and start thinking of the impact to those that couldn’t care less about the IRA, their campaigns or the damage they caused to certain communities caused.

AT- Soz Melvin it is impossible to grow out of a club, its founders, its continuity in 1994,i take issue with those that attempt to dilute our history, who Celtic are, where we came from and mostly correcting the likes of the above paragraph, which just like Gaza&Janin ignores State terrorism and racism and in Ireland they have had a thousand years, since Gerald of wales in the 11th century deemed the irish to be lesser folk, void of doing,

The same benevolence weaponised genocidal famine, the last one giving rise to Celtic forming in 1887.

Name me one Celtic song that can be sung without teeth getting gnashed by unionism?

MU-At your age, get a grip and see it from other points of view.

AT- The only thing i challenge is those who challenge Celtic supporters to stop celebrating their own history, that is not glorifying the ira,it is easy to box those ‘terrorists’ of 1916 or those ‘terrorists’ from 1966 onwards,as i say above remember in your onesidedness to omit the social, economic and political oppression we were born out of

MU-The definition of a bigot is:

a person who is intolerant or hateful toward people whose race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc., is different from the person’s own.

Intolerant or Hateful towards people whose

Race-read up on Gerald of Wales,or the racism of Edward Spenser where famine was advised and weaponized against those unruly irish.

Ethnicity- yup being irish is so easy in this country,a long and brilliant history that took 150 from famine to gain social parity,100 years after the US

Religion- dont suppose that is a problem when you outlaw it,as in the case of catholicism in ireland post Boyne era.where priests were slaughtered for celebrating mass and attendees culled by empire forces

Gender/sexual orientation-ireland it is argued by those who are interested in those issues that ireland is more progressive than the UK.The tendency being here it is weaponized/roused into some sort of culture war(see fud Boris et al) and his insular brand of self harming brit

    MU-Open your mind.

AT- oh it is,it is not contrived and prone to the easy answer,Celtic fans singing what i think is out of line will be approached, better still instead of people watching, sing up yourself(not in front of telly your mrs may get you arrested:-))

MU no insult i just dont do tut tuttery, tis easy to jump on bandwagon, that implies we as Celtic fans are not subject to the bigotry you attempt to define.when that happens tell me,but it wont be any year soon, but we work realistically towards it.

  15. dearie me,

Are you getting confused about me knowing the words sang in the 70’s and upholding them. I know the words to the sash too…have a good night and sleep well…..

  17. For any group of Celtic supporters to in any way shape or form identify with the actions of Hamas in Israel is not only incomprehensible it is a total disgrace. And yet this is where the Green Brigade has positioned itself in recent days. Events which include, amongs many, the deaths of over 250 at a music festival in Israel. A music festival! As well as the attacks on over twenty Israeli towns and villages with multiple civilian deaths and abductions, no group spared. Celtic FC is never ever going to support that. Never.

Maybe the Green Brigade can come up with a song to justify or perhaps to celebrate that. Or perhaps they can sing about the events which now have categorically ended any hope, any hope, of an Independent Palestine. Or a Palestinian State led by Hamas, and supported by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

No makeshift banner at Celtic Park will change that.

Don’t bring it to Celtics door where you are a small minority and the majority don’t want it (the constant RA stuff) and the the case of Hamas the vast majority are appalled by it. You tar is all with your view and damage the clubs wider reputation – have some respect for others around you and play your tough guy rebel in your own garden because you are spoiling mine.

  22. Good morning cqn from another dark, damp dank day in the Garngad.

The Green Brigade bring a lot of colour, atmosphere to CP. Crack on bhoys.

There is stuff they should not get involved in but hey we all make mistakes.

  23. I write this as a daily lurker, a very occasional poster, and a Jewish Celtic fan.

Israel, and the Jewish community around the world, is absolutely devastated by events in Israel. The biggest massacre of Jewish people. in one day since the holocaust. Our hearts break.

To see Celtic “fans” decide that that moment, while countless Jewish people are being murdered, raped, and kidnapped – that that is the moment to raise a banner in support of the resistance, is profoundly depressing. They are a stain on their community and on Celtic. I’m used to Israel being treated completely differently by a section of the support and of the left in general, but this is the first time I’ve ever questioned my affiliation to Celtic. These soulless ghouls have descended so far in their humanity that even after it’s become clear about the nature of this horrific slaughter, they justify. They pillory Nir Bitton for objecting. As if any decent person would react otherwise to this provocation while his people are being heartlessly slaughtered.

On other Celtic sites, with the odd voice of reason aside, the main discussion seems to be about whether the mass murder was “a PR mistake” by the Palestinians. I’m glad to see there is a more reasonable response by decent people on here who understand just how vile this has been and how it reflects on the club.

I do hope the club makes a statement to disown these scumbags and their attempt to connect Celtic to this heartless message.

  24. While I am well aware that Israel has appallingly treated the Palestinian people, particularly Netanyau’s current Government, imo, that is no reason for the Green Brigade to display such a banner. And, as I’ve said more than once on CQN, it is well past time for them to stop singing about the IRA. Let them support the team and continue the great work they do helping those in need.

  26. Shalom Greg, ignorance is no excuse but that is what it is. Armchair warriors who would piss their pants if they had to live their lives surrounded by people who want to kill them, in their ancestral home. Anything that I liked about the green brigade is gone now. Pathetic self serving egotists. They do not represent me, or many others who believe that Israel can defend itself and has a right to exist. I lived in the Negev for almost three years. I went to Gaza when I was seventeen and thought there was a cause. I learned some different truths. These cretins will hide behind their banners and embarrass Celtic forever more. Kick them to touch Celtic. Hail Hail. Take care in this difficult time fir your people Greg.

  28. Really enjoyable night at the James Forrest dinner last night.

Very humble and hard working guy. Incredible number of medals and trophies. Good family and massively respected by ALL those who played with and managed him.

Good to hear Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew speak so well of him as well as Brendan who saw signing him up for an extension, when he first arrived in 2016, as one of the smartest things he did at the club.

Credit to Andy Cameron also for playing his part and raising a good few quid via the auction.

Tough times to raise money and aware there is another dinner for the Foundation in London later this week so credit to all involved. I am sure the beneficiaries Kilbryde Hospice and The Celtic Foundation will be delighted.

I do agree with your sentiment that dialogue is the only answer. Getting to that dialogue is the challenge. I have 4 very good friends (very good people) 2 on each side of this horrible scenario and so I do have VERY real world experience. Not just from one perspective.
