  1. For those thinking that we should be waltzing our way to a title- Bayern Munich just struggled to draw with 3rd bottom Nuremberg and only avoided defeat by Nuremberg missing an injury time penalty. Our titles are always hard won and deservedly so.

MAH – you will be missed big time

Went back to big Billy’s shrine today with my son and grandson…saw a few people who, although visibly unwell, felt the need to pay their respects…says a lot about Billy…

Brendan thought we had too many wingers

You seem to believe that we have too many whingers

Or are you using an ol Gaelic spelling there?

  4. Scaniel 7.13pm :-)

I wrote a big long post after 71mins about Bayern struggling against bottom placed Nurnberg before the teams kicked off and some Celtic fans were moaning about 0-0 with unbeaten Hibs (in the league since new manager) last week… before I hit post MissGFTB asked to check school blog on my phone… 2mins later Bayern equalised so I deleted my nonsense ramblings :-)

A league might be won but it’s earned over a season

My gaelic is poor, was in A’Challtainn for fish and chips, and my daughter

told me it meant Calton which appropriately enough, is where we were sat.

“Artur Boruc is still the only keeper I have ever seen being penalised for that offence….

    V Falkirk…remember the situation anybody?”

    —–

    yes

was 1-1 at the time. was about 10 minutes to go and we were pumnelling them to get a winner

i was right in line with it in the main stand. never outside the box.

one of the worst bits of cheating i have ever seen by a hun ref

but virtually went unmentioned because it wasnt a penalty or lead to a goal etc

    rant over…

  7. i'vehadtochangemymind on

If we had a centre forward, c by n. Lovely crosses into the box lately but no one to pokemin.

    LG…… get well soooooon….

  8. I would have the Griff on the bench next week.

Get the league wrapped up and give him some game time at the bigotdome the following week.

Again on the bench for cup final, a 3/4 fit Griffalo will still score poachers goals.

    D. :)

You and me both! Did do an introductory course a while back, not in ancient Alba or Hibernia,

but down south in ol’ Lunnaine town!

  10. Ivehadtochange 7.35pm

I would love to see Leigh in the box getting on the end of KT or Jonny Hayes deliveries … and our Leigh isn’t the biggest… when Edouard gets bigger (older) he might start heading the baw :-)

  11. if we are all honest with oursleves we know we won’t sign a single new player in the upcoming transfer window and will therefore be going for 9 in a row with the following ideal 4-4-2 starting line up ;-) ;-) ;-)

In goals – Bain or Gordon

    Back 4 – Ralston/Lustig , Simunovic/Ajer/Hendry/Bitton, Tierney/Hayes

    Mid 4 – Shved/Wee Jamsie, Broonie/CalMac/Christie/Rogic/Ntcham/Kouassi, Johnston/Miller/Morgan

    Up top – Griffiths/Bayo/Edouard

And it tonight’s Timternet is to believed, all managed by The Chosen One!

  12. Whats all the hulla baloo about the 2 penalties…….folk on here musta been expecting something……if you sit on youre erse and say nothing this is what happens…..ala Celtic …..aleast the aberdeen manager has told the daily record about how he feels……who will in turn pass on the info to the sfa……..

Am a bit of a Leigh Griffiths fanatic, even before Leigh’s personal stuff, he is such a natural footballer / goal scorer … main thing he is ok in life but I will be delighted the next time we see this natural goalscorer back in the hoops … I quite like the fact he is a Hibee as well … don’t need to be a Celtic fan for Celtic fans to appreciate you :-)

  14. It was with great sadness that we learned of the Passing of our friend Stephen Houston this morning.

Stephen, known to many on CQN as MurdochAuldandHay, had fought a long and determined battle with Cancer, but finally succumbed during the night.

Stephen was a regular contestant in our competitions, and was a great supporter of, and very generous benefactor to, the various charity efforts which form the core of these competitions, and his humour, sharp wit and presence will be sorely missed.

He became good friends with many on the blog who came to know him after meeting him socially at various events, and the friendships became very important to Stephen as His health deteriorated. Everyone who knew Stephen admired the courage and bravery and unquenchable spirit with which he fought his illness, and above all his love of life and his passion for Celtic which shone through, right to his last days. those who knew Stephen will be fiercely proud to have called him Friend

Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Stephen’s Family and close friends at what is a very difficult time, and our thoughts and prayers are with them, and for a speedy journey for His Soul.

Rest in Peace, Stephen, and God Bless You.

Let’s All Do the Huddle…to make matters worse, Paul67 posted a photo of the incident and you could see quite clearly that Artur released the ball inside the line…

Why have we never seen a repeat of that kind of foul? I do remember it destroyed our momentum and wasted much valuble time…

  16. was the wee whiny scouse cant moanin about refs today?? Must have missed it..utter vermin at ibrox and easter road foldin their arms at big billys minute applause!!! Utter vermin..

A Griff and Eddy combo will frighten the life out of our opponents and wave goodbye to the last minute nervy

    1-0 and stultifying 0-0 scorelines .

Would love to see it before the season’s end and then on to the CL qualifiers.

It would also allow Eddy to show us the £30 m player he is destined to be.

  18. I’ll sing you a song of a terrible wrong.

John Fallon had his European Champions League medal taken off him by Officialdom back in 1967 in Lisbon.

This week amongst all the sadness there was a joyful moment when the original medal was returned to it’s owner.

Congratulations to John Fallon & the Fallon Family, justice delayed is justice denied but it is great that the precious medal is with the rightful owner.

  19. Again it might not be too pretty to watch but Saturday lunchtime the title WILL be won.

Even if its a draw that secures it.

    I could not care less…

The Sevco fans and media can obsess all they like about points differences and improvements.

The truth is they will be hurting so badly watching captain fantastic and Celtic Legend Scott Brown celebrate lifting the eighth title on the spin.

The truth is that they will be hurting watching captain fantastic and Celtic Legend Scott Brown celebrate lifting the eighth Scottish honour in a row since their mighty Rangers club returned to Scotland’s top flight 3 seasons ago to much fanfare and boasting about what they are going to do.

The truth also is that they will be hurting a couple of weeks later watching captain fantastic Celtic legend Scott Brown complete the remarkable treble treble in the Hampden sun.

What a time to be a Celtic fan.

I will save my worrying about next seasons squad and whoever is the manager for next month.May is going to be a time for thrillington and fun.

    Brilliant

Am pretty sure the medal is immaterial to the family but the recognition is totally deserved and that’s the important part

which was my main rant at the time – it was given to waste time and stop us charging on to get a winner

cant believe it still pisses me off after all these years ?

Am pretty sure every title Celtic have won there are loads of games that will be forgotten it’s what football fans do, in fact it’s a human thing .. we forget the bad/difficult times and remember all the good times … we even do it in real life, you could go on a weeks holiday and 5 days out of 7 could be terrible … but you will always remember the other 2 days were amazing … selective memory :-) its a Celtic thing … although on CQN some posters prefer not even thinking about good times :-)

  25. GFTB I reckon the medal means the world to them, have had a tough time with the recent passing of Mrs. Fallon, great to see them get a bit of good news. Haven’t seen BT on for weeks, another old pal Starry Plough also. I was thinking back of all the initial Posters that I got to know when I first joined CQN, Kikinthenakas, Hamilton Tim, Doc, BT, Starry Plough, BT, Old Tim, El Diego Bhoy the list goes on, all gone or rarely post now, Maybe I should take the hint.

  26. So sorry to hear the sad news that Stephen (MAH) has lost his brave battle. Sincere condolences to to his family. YNWA HH

Told by daughter whilst down for dinner about the passing of MAH . Not been doing any blog today so unaware till she told me.

My thoughts go to his family and I will light a candle for his soul in the same chapel as I did for him many a time.

    RIP.

brilliant paul67, that’s the spfl, that’s where sg is – we’ve been poor for a decent bit of the season this year and they still need contrivance and and hype to try and keep up with us. let’s get more quality in and 10iar!
