    CM – They still do.

Only now they write the sport section.

  6. only relevant point made in ebt scene.

Kilmarnock are only 1 goal difference from the next club. and therefore the second half was important not to lose more goals.

  7. For those that might have missed it, watchin the gowf an aw, BBC2 had not one, but two, great Simon and Garfunkel shows on tonight, first the making of Bridge Over Troubled Water, and second the reunion concert in Central Park, in 1981. Nothing wrong with having differing opinions, SS. You felt that the 2nd half was entertaining. I did not. Neither of us is right or wrong, only that we saw the 2nd half differently.

How many empty seats (in % terms) did you see from, say, 80 mins onwards?

Evidently, plenty of fans disagree with your opinion that the 2nd half was entertaining…

  10. Good Morning Fholks – Grand Day To Be A Tim

Really enjoyed the game yesterday, had everything – even over 1K passes that gave the naysayers something to moan about:)))

Unlike a lot of our good games this season, where it’s difficult to get down to three players, a couple great individual performances makes the first two picks easy.

A few candidates for the third; CCV, another strong defensive display with a sublime goal, Callum stepped up and lead a nuch improved display, as the manager had asked, Meada Daizen’d it, Scales came back and produced a solid display.

However, I’m going with Arne Engels, an excellent young player, who is trying a little too hard but was a real presence in midfield and threat up front.

So winging it’s way to SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM

    1. Reo Hatate

    Have a Champion Day Celts.

    Hail Hail

  11. A great day yesterday in the sun. ( For some mad reason thought the ko was at 3 o’clock )

Anyway great entertainment and enjoyment in the first half.

We eased off in the second half ? Why when we have a plethra of capable subs.

The majority of the crowd were half way down the Gallowgate when great Celtic servant Anthony Ralston took the 5th.

I know the traffic situation at our ground is primitive, but perhaps our support just likes a bevy more than most.

I was quite happy to delay my bevy until the end of the game. A great time in the Drover was had by all including free sausage rolls. My mate from Aberdeen was in with his brother over from Australia. First game at home for him in 30 years. ( His accent was identical to the day he left Garthemlock )

A great day and a minor party in the sun.

    HH, the journey continues.

  12. Some talk of the Huns resting players today. I’ve no doubt we’ll be champions come 2pm.

Football, Irish racing and the Masters finale.

Let the good times roll. 👍

  14. A great day yesterday …a brilliant Celtic performance ..victory for the pars ..and to round it off the vile Minis never got a top six place …oh happy days 🍀

  15. For the second home game in a row,the players switched off in the second half which soon became a bore of a game.

The supporters do the same and they get lamblasted ,HH

  16. Blistering stuff from the team yesterday in the main but2nd half was tedious. With everything in our favour we could have played with a bit of adventure, try a few things but no back to slow backward uninspiring football.

I wonder what we work on during the week – 8 to 10 times in that 2nd half Engles and Hatate (mainly Engels) made runs across defenders asking for the ball to be played into the space he was running to. Down the side or clipped over the top to turn a relatively high back line – how many times was the pass made……zero. Instead a 10 yard pass backward or sideways creating nothing. My point is that in training I assume that patterns of play are rehearsed and that players work on stuff in certain positions and scenarios. If this is the case do our middies and defenders not know to look for that run and play that pass when it’s on? I get it’s not always on but we play that pass so infrequently I just don’t understand why the attackers make the run when the ball never arrives or is never even attempted? It’s frustrating as when when we are in full flow it’s great and intricate but we’re not always like that and teams can be very stuffy to get through – we have players making these runs and angles that change the mode of attack but we’re rarely if ever use it?

    Confused csc

  17. An Dún – if the roles were reversed, I’d want to see our best players rested ahead of the Atlético game rather than risk injury in what is ultimately a meaningless league game.

So that would be Cerny and, eh, Cerny.

  18. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

The first 25 minutes from yesterday was just a high. Pure football pleasure. Play of the very highest level. Joyous.

It almost made last week worth it…

Every single goal was magnificent, including Tony’s with the last kick of the ball. So much brilliance but one keeps replaying in my head – Jamesy’s wall pass back to AJ for the 4th goal was technically outstanding. I also loved Reo’s first touch before leathering it into the top corner.

    The changes worked to perfection.

Greg Taylor transformed the team. Scales was a blessing after Trusty’s treacle performance last week and Jamesy was just a class act.

Thanks for yesterday Celts. You owed us it after last week but you delivered!

    Come on the Dons.

  19. garygillespieshamstring on

Does anyone know if Trusty was married the day before the Saint Johnstone game or were the photos taken previously and just released on social media at that time?

Seems a bit strange to allow that when the players should be preparing for the game the following day.

  20. bigrailroadblues on

Hard to say which is the poorest team playing at Pittodrie. mclean and dallas are good subs though.

  21. A few games of interest today in our quest to get into CL next season. It’s all about being seeded in the 5 final round play off games. Bodo, Red Star and Olympiakos already are.

    A reminder :

5 leagues really matter. We have to be one of the top 2 highest ranked team than the winners of these.

Austria Croatia Ukraine Denmark and Hungary.

Current leaders are Sturm Graz, Hadjuk, Kyiv, Copenhagen and Puskas Academy.

So only Copenhagen are ranked above us. Hence we would be seeded.

However today of those ranked above I is in co efficient we have :

On form RB Salzburg just 2 points behind leaders Sturm going to Graz. And Austria Wien who are level top going to Rapid who are not in contention really.

In Denmark we see Copenhagen take on Brondby and Mitjyland who seem to be slipping a bit at Aag.

In Croatia the top 2 (Rejika and Hadjuk) are 4 and 5 clear of Zagreb with a game in hand and play at home today.

In Ukraine Shakhtar are hitting a bit of form but not clawing back anything on leaders Kyiv who won again this weekend.

Hungary is at a tricky stage as leaders Puskas go to Paks while Ferencvsros have an easier home tie.

We are currently still sitting in the final seeded slot. RB Salzburg and Ferencvaros are the immediate concerns. Perhaps Copenhagen might also slip up though.

  22. Good to see BBC put in their place by Brendan as the naysayers want to unsettle Brendan and hope/wish/strive to ensure he leaves sooner rather than later.

Now if only we could approach our own so called supporters, including our host to get fully behind Brendan, their snide sleekitness makes them stick out as much as their craveness for ‘whit urr the huns daen’.

    HH

Ps Celts who found the 2nd half boring/tedious,please reassess why you go to watch Celtic, some of the posts show entitlement and a short term memory loss regards 1st half.
